Re: Horizon Hunters Gathering Is Guerrilla's Next Big PS5 Game, Horizon 3 Still Years Away

Northern_munkey

It took me a long time to get round to playing the first horizon game and I really enjoyed it. The 2nd game is still on my to play list but I've always got something else on the go but I'll give it a play eventually. This entry however is going to be a pass for me as its art style and general aesthetic is a big turn off for me. It just looks like fortnite and a dozen other cell shaded games and I don't mean in a negative way because I know there are people who'll be really wanting a game like this so on that front I hope it does well and they enjoy it. I wish they would give us another killzone entry but I guess it's a dead franchise now and the chances of a remake or remaster of the original trilogy are none existent now too.

Re: PS5 Officially Outsells PS3, Now at 92.2 Million Units

Northern_munkey

I've had every PlayStation except the ps4 pro and the ps5 is my fave. It dosnt have the greatest ui but next to the ps2 it's the most silent and certainly the easiest to keep dust free. I just love being able to play all my ps4 games pro enhanced. The only real gripe I have is the battery life in the controller although the midnight black one that replaced my original does last about an hour longer on average. I liked my ps3 even though I thought the online play could be really atrocious at times and I really miss bad company 2 which I thought was the best game on it. Glad the ps5 is doing so well.

Re: The Division: Definitive Edition Out Now, But Not on PS5

Northern_munkey

I don't think the division really needs a native ps5 version. It's still an incredible looking game and it's gunplay is still exceptional. Running at 60fps is more than enough for me personally and I wish the load times were better but for a game that's knocking on a bit now it's still quite epic.

@AhmadSumadi well they added quite a lot to the game running on the ps5. Full 60fps,upgraded resolution, better effects and faster load times etc. I was playing the ps4 version on my ps5 and when the upgrade dropped it made a big difference. Granted no native ps5 D2 is a bummer but its still an awesome game and much better than its ps4 version.

Re: Promising Chinese God of War Game Will Be 'Optimised for PS5 in Collaboration with Sony'

Northern_munkey

I'm not seeing any god of war inspirations. What I am seeing is wukong and wuchang inspirations from this trailer. If the camera was over the shoulder like the recent god of war games I'd say you have a point but this just looks like another nioh, wukong, wuchang,wo long and any other half decent souls type arpgs. I love these kind of games and I haven't played a decent one since khazan which I still need to replace after my puppy boz ate it..little f*cker.

Re: Larian CEO Swen Vincke Sticks His Foot in It Again, Thinks Game Reviewers Should Also Be Reviewed

Northern_munkey

I don't think reviewers should be reviewed but I do think that the reviewers chosen to review certain genres of games should have a better understanding of how those games work or at least the reviewer chosen should at least enjoy that genre. I'd be more inclined to trust a review that was written by somebody who understands how a souls like game works and understands the mechanics. It's no good having somebody who primarily plays racing games as an example reviewing a souls like game..they won't get it. Also its no good reviewing a game that can take upwards of 50-60 hours to complete literally a day after a review embargo has been lifted as there's no way its been played properly therefore it paints an inaccurate picture of the game. Reviewers need to take more into account when reviewing games.

Re: Out Today: Rebellion Revives Retro Arcade Sports Game Speedball on PS5

Northern_munkey

@Mr_Vengeance1980 well there is the rogue trooper game and if you own older consoles such as an xbox etc there was a judge dredd game which I do believe is on PC too. But I agree they have such a strong character and storyline pool to choose from it's unbelievable there are no recent ones. Nemesis the warlock and the ABC warriors would be my ideal kind of game. Have you watched future shock on prime tv? Brilliant documentary about 2000ad.

Re: Highguard Doesn't Do a Concord, But Reception Is Lukewarm

Northern_munkey

It's a bit of an odd one this game. Graphically it's pretty decent although I have noticed a few frame rate drops. The audio is really good. Controls are tight and the gunplay is great as expected...but it really needs more content. So it's nowhere near as rubbish as is being made out but the criticism about lack of content is very valid. I'll keep an eye on it for future content drops to see if it improves.

Re: Hands On: Highguard Is Real and Potentially Great on PS5

Northern_munkey

"but like many, we wanted to know the kind of game that Geoff Keighley was willing to bet his entire reputation on." I don't remember him betting his entire reputation on this game or any other. There seems to be a new hyperbolic theme surrounding the wordings of pushsquare articles at the moment. Anyway I've just downloaded this so I'll have a crack when I'm home from work later.

Re: Classic Assassin's Creed Games Could Get 60FPS PS5 Upgrades Next

Northern_munkey

@dskatter I'll agree that the reason is a moot point and it's good to see they are giving the gamers what they want from the games. If only other major devs would do the same (pointing the finger at you fromsoft) but I don't see this as some cynical ploy from ubisoft as they've said in the past that they will update their titles as and when it's possible. I see this as a dev who just happens to have the time and resources available and not as a dev who's in the quagmire.
