Well I'm still buying the psvr2 because I want to play gt7 with my steering wheel and through the psvr2. @Snowrunner take a chill pill mate. I'm not always happy with pushsquare but Jesus bud..
Video games,alcohol,x-rated vhs (before the BBFC ratings,)cigarettes and of course pornography..everything was easily accessible when we were kids and still is to the youth of today. Age ratings only serve to make people feel safe in the knowledge their kids shouldn't be able to view this material. These ratings are really redundant to be honest.
I'll have blasphemous 2 as I liked the first and I may replay the first again before jumping in the sequel. Space marine 2 is quite epic but I was disappointed with how soft the graphics are in performance mode..smeary. However it's a cracking game.
@HonestHick I can see the issues marathon has and I'm not going to stand up and applaud it as the perfect game..the GOAT because its not but their are fair critiques being made here and there are toxic comments being made too by gamers who had no intention of playing it or buying it. There are loads of games that just are not for me but I'm not in the comments section running them down or the players enjoying them. I'm never going to get with the whole hate brigade as it's just too much energy wasted. You are not daft and you know the point I'm making here and I'm not falling out with you. I just expected a better spin and not one that had a level of jeering that's just not you.
@PuppetMaster "Lol you guys are so unemployed and maidenless 😂" Let's stop with this..we don't need to add more derogatory tags for a certain type of gamer.
@HonestHick the way I feel about marathon and the people attacking it is how you feel about diablo 4 and the people attacking that. I just expected better..I guess I was wrong.
@HonestHick are you even remotely interested in this game? Are you invested in it? I usually enjoy your comments but all you are doing here is jumping on the train to negative land with all the others that you usually distance yourself from. I'm not sure what you are getting from this but it's out of character for you.
@wildcat_kickz you are on a roll this evening bud. I'm loving marathon and I'm enjoying playing with you guys too. Let the haters hate. They are just background noise at this point.
@djlard "I'll never understand why people freely give money for nothing." I guess they get a sense of feeling as if they are supporting the devs and continuation of the games life span. I'm with you that I don't really understand the expenditure on Ingame cosmetics either and it's not something I spend real cash on.
BF6 is a great game but it needs more maps as I got a bit bored and the BR mode didn't hold me long either. @wilky2988 do you guys get bored of the marathon bashing? I guess it's the new chew toy for the trolls.
I really enjoy DD2. I say enjoy because I still boot it up evey now and then to have a bit of a chill adventuring session. I can't speak of final fantasy as I have not played it but the performance issues surrounding DD2 were in my opinion over exaggerated and I never had an issue with the frame drops.
@dark_knightmare2 yes all the furore about optional ingame purchases from people who conviently forget about CoD,BF6,Diablo 4 and the fifa games is quite ridiculous but I guess it just dosnt fit their narratives.
@Fluberuper to be fair @MrPeanutbutterz does have a valid point. You have no interest in the game but you still read the article just so you could comment. Just calling it how I see it .
@MinerWilly yeah but I suffer from toxic positivity don't forget and im a borderline shill (even though I'm yet to receive anything from Sony, bungie and pushsquare) so my opinion is skewed 👍
Marathon is not too difficult at all. It's about right. You can't go in all guns blazing because you aggro everything that wants to kill you. The AI is just as aggressive as Arc raiders. The amount of ammo you get in the sponsored "free" load outs is ample as you also get a ammo crate too. Health and shield supplies are all over the place so the argument about lack of ammo etc is ridiculous. I can see the issue with the skins and the pricing but it's not something that bothers me as I don't really use them and if I do they are obtained with the silk I get from playing the game. The rook shell is specifically there for looting and resupplying runs (you can't complete contracts or squad up using it) so use that to replenish your items. As for the risk of losing your gear..use the free load outs. Losing your gear is all part and parcel of this game. The UI still needs work but other than that marathon is a brilliant game if you enjoy these type of games and just like Arrowhead and Embark studios Bungie appears to be listening to feedback.
@Bob_Tempura cheers. Marathon is not perfect as it still needs work. The UI really needs some overhauling. The ping system needs some work as it's hard to see sometimes and there are a few little gripes that whilst not game breaking need tweaking. I'm not going to stand here and say Marathon is the greatest game on the planet but its 100 % nowhere near as bad as the haters will have anybody believe. For me personally at this moment I'll give it a 7/10 which I feel is fair. The main thing that I hear from friends and random players is that the audio by far is some of the best we've ever heard in a game. You know exactly where the AI is or other gamers are. It really does have superb audio.
@dskatter so what was the bare minimum? I bet it was a pretty penny in all honesty plus I bet if there is ever another marathon game the artist in question will be working on that. There is probably some decent exposure for the artist too which will hopefully lead to more work in the future outside of bungie that requires her skills in her chosen medium. I think she will do rather nicely out of this.
This is a situation that resonates with me most above all others seeing as my wife is an artist. If she sees a picture on the Internet that she wants to draw she has to contact the owner of that image and purchase the rights to it so that if that drawing gets sold its all above board etc. At least bungie were fast acting and a satisfactory outcome was agreed.
@GamingGod if you want to squad up then add me on psn. I do have a few other guys I run with so I may be in a session with them but the offer stands especially if you need a few pointers as to where to go etc..
@KundaliniRising333 Arc raiders has in game content you can purchase. OK maybe using Arc raiders as an example was wrong but you get my point. As for the rest of your comment don't try and make me out to be somebody you know full well I'm not. I'm always honest with you and voice my opinions and we've grown to have a mutual respect for each other even when we don't see eye to eye..low blow brother 👍
@KundaliniRising333 the battle pass and monetisation are the same as every other live service game. Arc raiders,BF6,COD you name it they all have the same business model but here's the kicker..you don't have to buy them. I never do and it dosnt ruin my experience. I'm actually surprised you enjoy Arc raiders as much as you do seeing as it employs the scummy monetisation ethics you so despise. Maybe it's just because it's bungie?
@KingPev I can't make that decision for you. Its a tough game and it's confusing at first but once you get used to the clunky UI you start to really enjoy it. I'll bet my left testicle that the majority of the neggers here either haven't played it (their input is null invoid) or they played an hour or so in the server slam so they can justify being so damn negative about it. I hope you enjoy it as much as we are if you do decide to purchase it.
@somnambulance it's so much better than the server slam. More intense and overall a much better experience. Myself and my fellow pushsquarians are having a riot. Being murdered has never been such fun.
It's a great game. I'm loving it and my friends are loving it. It's got its flaws for instance the UI still needs work but it's much improved over the server slam I played last weekend. It's slick as hell and so damn stable.
@SBBuds not strictly true. I played a few solo rounds last night and I started one round with about 10 mins on the clock and one with around 19 mins on the clock.
@species "Yes its always nice to see game journalists be completely out of touch with their audience." So pushsquare should just pander to their audience and just say what they expect us to like? Not be honest at all?
Those of us that were waiting for marathon eagerly already knew that we would enjoy it. The server slam last weekend just further cemented it for me and this week has been long waiting for it patiently. I can understand that people don't like it and I can respect their opinions. However there are some who are formulating some very toxic comments and showing a complete lack of respect for their fellow gamers. Accusing people who like the game and say so of "toxic positivity" whilst showing nothing but utter contempt towards bungie and gamers is pretty low and I'm surprised pushsquare are allowing this discourse to take place when they will happily edit lesser comments. Why can't you guys just be happy people are enjoying themselves with marathon instead of being utter cretins? As for a review? Take your time as it's a steep learning curve and the games mechanics are surprisingly deep and intricate. It's certainly not for the casual gamer and requires a lot of patience as @Sanquine will attest to if his final outburst was anything to go by last night 🤣.
I like the Housmarque artwork. I was discussing marathons artistic direction in the game with my wife who really likes the abstract nature of it (she is a recognised artist in her own right) and she said it reminded her of an artist called Piet Mondrian. No idea who he was myself but she said it's quite inspirational.
@LogicStrikesAgain cheers buddy. I honestly don't understand why people want this to fail so much and if I'm being honest I don't want to know. I'm loving it and my wingman is enjoying it too so I don't understand why that's such a bad thing. Bollocks to them.
