Re: At Least One Publisher Still Strongly Supports PSVR2

Northern_munkey

@spazuluwarrior I just double checked and it does indeed work on the ps5. You need to purchase the VR dlc which is still available in the UK but if you live in the USA its no longer available for some strange reason. However if you purchased the game on physical that had the VR content included it's still playable as its on the disc. I bought mine of ebay a few months back really cheap.

I'm still planning on getting a vr2 headset soon mainly for GT7 but these games look pretty damn cool too. It's a shame that EA wrc and dirt 2.0 don't support the psvr2 but at least dirt rally does so even though it looks rougher than Katie price at least I'll give it a going over...dirt rally not Katie price 👍

Re: November 2025 PS Plus Essential Games Available to Download Now

@Darude84 the cars in wrc 10 and wrc generations are universally agreed upon in the rally racing community as being very light and floaty. Its very difficult to get the games to convey the feeling of weight in the force feed back through a steering wheel set up. The cars in EA wrc have a serious amount of heft to them and the force feedback through the steering wheel (I use the t598) is only bettered by dirt rally 2.0. I tried using the dual sense pad on generations and I found it incredibly twitchy but I found the dual sense pad to be very well implemented on EAs wrc game. I've invested literally hundreds of hours into EA wrc and I've spent almost as much time helping people with how to get the best out of their chosen wheels from logitech g29's,thrustmaster t150 to t300,fanatec and now the mighty t598. You may not notice much difference between the 2 game franchises but they are worlds apart regardless of whether you use a pad or dedicated wheel setup.

@UltimateOtaku91 yes there is this too. Back when I was a PC gamer I was so fed up with games needing tweaking in config files, constant driver updates etc that it just became so tiring..I just wanted to play damn it. There was a really annoying thing with the first space marine game where because I was running an amd chipset the bloody game reset your PC.. so I had to run a program before starting the game just so I could play it. Spec ops the line had to run through that program too. Ubisoft gave me free games with my chosen gpus but they never worked..I'm sure PC gaming has improved over the last decade but I'm not eager to retread that path yet..

@nomither6 @11001100110zero thanks for the info guys it's appreciated. However having been a PC gamer before I jumped back to the ps4 gen my personal experience of playing the upgrade game was at the time becoming more expensive than just having a one box does all solution. I've nothing against pc's at all but for me and many others it's a very expensive option. And then there is the constant updates, conflicts which require work around etc, etc, etc which you just don't get with consoles so I guess the convenience factor comes into play again. When the ps6 launches and we know which out of date tech we'll be paying for is there for everybody to see then I'll make that decision to see which if any gaming platform I'll choose..I would really like a PC for my sim racing guys.. I really would.

Re: Leaked Cross-Buy Icon on PS5 Hints at Mysterious Pro-Consumer Move from Sony

@Boxmonkey "You can get decent under the tv pc’s these days." This might well be the case but start saving for your upgrades so you can keep playing the new games in the fidelity you expect from your cheap under the TV pc. I'm not knocking you before you think I am but console generations last 10 years..more in case of the ps4..do you think you'll last that long with a PC without having to upgrade anything? PC gaming is no doubt great but it's a pursuit that requires deep pockets. A few years back somebody on here was shouting about being able to build a PC that could play games to the same standard in every detail as a ps5 for a fraction of the price..I challenged him to produce said PC and show vids of it doing what they claimed...I'm still waiting. I'd love to build a PC for my sim racing addiction especially with asseto corsa rally looming on the horizon but the cost for what I would require to reach the same standard as the ps5 or ps5 Pro is too expensive for the very short lifespan it would have before the inevitable upgrades beckon. Cheaper games yes by a lot but that machine is hungry for investment.

Re: Yakuza 3 Remake Backlash Blows Up Again as Actor Guilty of Sexual Harassment Stars in New Trailer

@Questionable_Duck @Rich33 I agree with both of you. Sometimes it appears that somethings are up for debate and discussion whereas some topics are just simply never going to be discussed by PS. For instance this article and it's subject matter are very much on PS's radar whereas a certain actors affiliations with a domestic terrorist organisation don't get a mention or the actor in the intergalactic game verbally insulting gamers that don't identify a certain way will never get the same treatment either. Now this comment is only meant to provide an example of how I see personally the direction PS leans when deciding which articles to pursue and it's this that has me on a 50/50 split decision as to whether I want to continue using PS at all. All the guys on here I have discussions with are pretty decent and are open to seeing an alternative view point even if they don't agree themselves which is the only reason I stick around. Overall PS is a good site but sometimes it really irks me when they decide what can and can't be discussed when they themselves instigate these topics.

Re: ARC Raiders (PS5) - A Triumph in Multiplayer Immersion

Northern_munkey

@Danbottomburp I bought this on Thursday although I didn't start really digging into it until Friday. Now I've done about 20 or so raids and I've encountered a hell of a lot of players whilst going solo. Most solo players are really cool and either want to continue alone or team up. I've met a few douchebags who just wait around an extraction elevator to try and screw you over but overall the arc raiders community are shaping up to be a really good place to be online especially if you are just starting. Going into a raid with a group is where things start to get more interesting and quite chaotic and I've had a few laugh out loud moments (forgetting proximity chat is on) and alerting a few of the said douchebags to our presence. The video you watched would appear to be giving you a bad impression of how the game actually is which is unfortunate because if anybody who likes games such as the division, helldivers 2 or even hunt the showdown are going to love this.

Re: Yakuza 3 Remake Backlash Blows Up Again as Actor Guilty of Sexual Harassment Stars in New Trailer

Northern_munkey

@Elfuggingjefe I agree. I have had many really good discussions with the majority of users on PS and a few of them who I initially didn't see eye to eye with are now friends that I often play online with and we continue to have discussions in depth that we wouldn't be able to have here plus actually being able to hear each other speak allows a much better depth and understanding in getting your point across.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for November 2025?

Northern_munkey

It would have been a good month for me if I didn't already own EA wrc. As it stands it is not a good month for me.@MrPeanutbutterz nails it by saying you have to really be into rally games and expect to get punished when you cock it up..and you will. Also and you guys are probably fed up with hearing this but if you have a steering wheel setup then it's a no brainer as it simply is another experience altogether. As a freebie with your sub this is probably the best racing game Sony could give you providing you like rally sims..I look forwards to seeing you guys hitting up the leaderboards..

Well it'll be a battle to see what I cough up first..the phlegm that's manifested itself on my chest or my ring piece..my moneys on my ring piece. In between bouts of coughing like doc holiday at the end of tombstone I'll be playing BF6 and Arc Raiders which is surprisingly excellent..have a great weekend folks 😷

Re: Shmup Fans, Sit Down and Pay Attention to This New PS5, PS4 Compilation

@hisownsidekick I'm not a huge sharer but it is what it is and there is no point skirting around the facts.
"I hope you're having a day that at least tries to live up to what you deserve."
Everyday I endeavor to achieve this. One thing my late mother always admired about me the most was my ability to speak my mind regardless of who may disagree with it and she never wanted me to change that trait of mine. It may not be to everybody's liking but it's who I am and one should always be true to oneself.

Re: Shmup Fans, Sit Down and Pay Attention to This New PS5, PS4 Compilation

Northern_munkey

@hisownsidekick I can be extremely sarcastic and cynical but when it comes down to people laying personal loss on the table and hearing how it affects them and how it also affects complete strangers who get together to discuss video games on a website how can anyone not be genuine and sincere. When my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer a week after her 69th birthday I was playing helldivers 2 with a few guys I'd teamed up with from these very forums and those guys helped take my mind of the inevitable event that was about to occur. I can never repay those guys generosity and I will forever be thankful for it. Thankyou for your words too..

Re: ARC Raiders (PS5) - A Triumph in Multiplayer Immersion

Northern_munkey

@KundaliniRising333 considering how much you despise the whole predatory micro transaction thing I'm surprised at how much you are enjoying this game. I've seen more than a few comments about the "disgusting" Mt's but to be honest they are not shoved in your face like in CoD and unfortunately the way they have suddenly taken over BF6's main screen with the advent of season 1. Not having a go at you here I'm just saying I'm pleasantly surprised 👍

Re: ARC Raiders (PS5) - A Triumph in Multiplayer Immersion

Northern_munkey

I wasn't sure about this to be honest. It looked pretty tasty but didn't really seem to be anything special but seeing as it's under £35 I thought I'd give it a go and I'm glad I did. Not getting any star wars vibes at all but I do get a pretty big escape from New York vibe from the synth soundtrack. Gunplay us very solid although I'd recommend turning off the tab that makes the aim reticle bounce off anything that obstructs it as its bloody annoying. Only met one real obnoxious d***head but everybody else has been really cool and give you a chance to assist them and not screw them over. I don't agree with the sound not being on par with CoD as I find arc raiders sound to be a thousand times more intuitive than CoD is. Well deserved of the 9/10 awarded.

@hisownsidekick @AhmadSumadi so sorry to hear of your losses. I lost my mother at the end of April last year so I can really relate to this but not via a video game. I love playing golf and my late mother would always ask how the round(s) went and we would always watch the majors and the ryder Cup and discuss them but since she passed I've found it difficult to get back out on a regular basis. I will someday but I'm not quite there yet.
