I'm reading comments about "played it for X amount of minutes then deleted it." It's not the kind of game you can just spend 30 or so mins in. It takes a while to get going but it's a pretty decent simcade so far. I'm looking forwards to getting stuck into this over the weekend when I have enough time to actually get to grips with it properly..

Downloaded it and it's pretty good. There are 2 graphics settings..quality and performance but I'm buggered if I can tell the difference so I'm playing it on performance. Best thing is it fully supports steering wheels so it's an unexpected bonus.

I have what I'd call a basic gaming pc and here are the specs (no laughing at the back there.) AMD FX6300 overclocked,16 gig of ddr3 ram,MSI GTX970 and a creative labs sound card. My wife uses this as her art station currently as its more than enough for her. As for gaming? Forget trying to play anything new..I mean seriously just don't go there. I can play the majority of games that were published up until around 2017 when it went kaput and needed repairing (power supply blew.) The ps5 is much stronger for gaming and to a certain degree the ps4 was a better experience. So the ps5 is nowhere near a basic pc..

@LikelySatan it probably is a "me" problem. I never said it wasn't but this game to me personally looks naff. It screams (pun intended) as if its trying so desperately to appeal to the fornite brigade. I'm not one for the anime aesthetics in most games, khazan being one of the notable exceptions, so that's pretty much a turn off for me. Ridge racer,outrun,Sega rally,Manx tt etc all epitomised the arcade racers that I cherish mainly because I was there when they dropped in arcades and I loved them. My fave pure arcade racer at the moment is Dirt 5 and that's mainly because it's fun in quick bursts and I get to use my steering wheel. I hope everybody enjoys this when it launches but for me it's a no go. Incidently screamer 2 on the pc was epic back in 1996..

@LikelySatan maybe for you but not for me. The closest I've found is hot shot racing which was good fun for a few hours but got boring pretty fast. Super woden 2 is good.

It looks like a load of arse to be honest. Why can't somebody just make a bloody good racer like ridge racer,outrun..hell i will take a decent enduro racer clone over this.

WTF have they done to skate? I loved skate 2 on my xbox 360. It had gritty visuals and felt quite hard-core.. this looks pretty meh to be honest. Not a fan of having every game being turned into a fortnite style cartoon fest..

As much as I love gears of war I think £40 is a bit much. Maybe when it drops to £20-£25 i will bite but not yet. 7/10 is more than a fair score for a game that's not aged that well. I was hoping that they would have remade it from the ground up but alas its not the case.

PoE2 is the only time I've ever bought into the early access model. I've not played it for a while because as everybody knows I became a bit of a sim racing aficionado but I love the game and I think it's better than diablo 4. If you love your diablo style games then you need to try this free weekend offer out as it really is a great game. There's been a lot of negatives surrounding PoE2 but apart from some early server issues I've had a great time with it. I can't wait for the full release.

@DreadfulDragon I quite enjoy your comments. I find them well worded and thought out but I think that you may be banging your head against a brick wall. I agree with you on most of what you have to say. For what it's worth the last really good ubisoft game I really enjoyed was AC odyssey and I platinumed that..fell asleep half way through valhalla.

@Perturbator ah I see. I know dirt rally is vr enabled but I'm not sure if it works with the psvr2 headset. It should work I guess. Thanks anyway bud 👍

Just got home about 15 mins ago so I'm going to have a cuppa and try earth defense force 6 but I know full well I'll be jumping onto either GT7 or EA wrc.@Perturbator which dirt game in vr? Dirt 2.0 dosnt support vr so is it dirt rally? If so does the psvr2 headset work on it as I'm thinking of purchasing one. Have a smasher of a weekend folks 👍

@Tr3mm0r that's interesting to know because I was thinking about having a playthrough with a couple of my mates but I wasn't sure if the expansions were still unavailable.. that was a world class turd of a thing to do the gamers who supported them by purchasing them.

@Artois2 all those locations you mentioned would be top notch too.

I liked bungie. They gave me the halo series which I enjoyed. They gave me destiny which I also really enjoyed and it was the reason I bought a ps4. Then came destiny 2 with all the expansions that you had to buy and then bungie locked you out of your expensive expansions and that's when I lost my love for bungie. I'm hoping marathon is good because I think bungie are really f**ked in the garry if it flops. Incidentally does anybody know if the expansions for destiny 2 are still locked out?

@Artois2 japan has some of the most stunning scenery and vistas in the world. It would lend itself extremely well to a game such as the forza horizon series. Where would you rather it be?

Forza horizon 5 really surprised me at just how good it actually is. Its some of the most arcade racing fun I've had and its a real blast online and I've got to admit the community is really friendly and very welcoming to new players. I don't use the controller as I use my steering wheel and the immersion is just amazing and you really can't beat proper force feedback. There's no comparison.

@EfYI you are aware it can be played offline?

CoD is pretty much dead to me right now after playing the BF6 beta at the weekend. CoD has needed to evolve for a long,long time now and it hasn't. Personally I'm chomping at the bit and I really can't wait for October. My biggest problem is deciding how I'm going to split my time between virtual Warfare and sim racing..

Just in case nobody's tried it yet but the free to play delta force which launched yesterday is pretty decent. It does everything warzone does only better and it really feels like the next gen version of M.A.G. that we needed but Sony gave up on. The free single player campaign add on is centered around the conflict in Mogadishu that the black hawk down movie was based on and from what I've played briefly is quite good. Remember it's free to play so it's still a wee bit janky in places but it's well worth a butchers.

@PuppetMaster I always tend to use the native language in games that are not western developed and I opt for subtitles too. I always find that Japanese games or Chinese games have some of the oddest phrasing when the English voice overs are used and generally just sound comical and over exaggerated. I do chuckle at the medieval games and witcher games that always have the characters speaking in northern English accents and I really laughed when the bloody baron in the witcher 3 had a brummie accent..we need more aussie voice actors and it would be great if the pikey community was represented in games..imagine the translation issues that would present 🤣

"The sequel builds off the first game from a few years back." It launched less than 2 years ago. This October lords of the fallen will be 2 years old. I'll most definitely be buying the sequel day one as I really,really enjoyed the first game and I really loved the way hexworks listened to the community and constantly improved everything. If only other big name devs could do the same then gaming would be in a much better state.

I jumped on the BF6 beta at the weekend and I loved it. This looks quite lame in comparison and I think..I know I'll be giving this a miss. BF6 is back big time and CoD really needs to up it's game and stop with all the silly cartoon,rainbow bright graphics and I think the zombie mode has pretty much run its course now (personal opinion) as its not been much good since CoD:World at war.

@SuperSilverback it's not too bad. It's taking a bit of getting used to and I like the customisations. I'll stick with it and see how it pans out.
