Re: Classic Assassin's Creed Games Could Get 60FPS PS5 Upgrades Next

Northern_munkey

@dskatter I'll agree that the reason is a moot point and it's good to see they are giving the gamers what they want from the games. If only other major devs would do the same (pointing the finger at you fromsoft) but I don't see this as some cynical ploy from ubisoft as they've said in the past that they will update their titles as and when it's possible. I see this as a dev who just happens to have the time and resources available and not as a dev who's in the quagmire.

Re: Rumoured Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas Remasters Not Expected to Be Out Any Time Soon

Northern_munkey

I have an ancient pc that my wife uses as her art station that plays skyrim, fallout 3 and new Vegas flawlessly with the kind of mods that improve everything about the games in a way that should make Bethesda embarrassed about the constant shoddy cash grabs they put out. If bedroom coders can produce the often stunning enhancements to these games for FREE then why can't Bethesda? I won't bother with these and if I really wanted to revisit them I'd fire up the dinosaur sleeping in the spare room.

Re: Two Classic PS1 Beat-'Em-Ups Will Throw a Punch at PS5 This Week

Northern_munkey

"Two legendary PS1 beat-‘em-ups." I think my idea of what constitutes a legendary brawler are very different..not even in the same post code. These games were mediocre at best and the reviews at the time were not at all favorable. I'd advise anybody reading this article to take the "legendary" tag with a fist full of salt because personally I think the only legendary thing these games will provide is the level of disappointment you'll endure.

Re: Marathon's PS5 Release Date Looks Like It's Leaked

Northern_munkey

@Boxmonkey "unfortunately for them arc raiders has filled the void in the market for this game." Not at all but what they have done is raise the bar and show that if its done right and its not riddled with mtx's then there's room for more in the genre. Helldivers 2 and now Arc raiders are both examples of great game designs and both devs listen to their players feedback in a way that the bigger devs just don't seem to do. Marathon has a tough journey ahead of it and I'm interested in the game and I hope it's good.

Re: Sony Nukes Thousands of Shovelware Games from PS5, PS4

Northern_munkey

"we have reached out to both parties to try and understand what’s going on." It's not difficult is it? We are all fed up of this tosh permeating the eco system like a digital Japanese knot weed. Sony obviously (although it's taken a bloody long time) has had enough too. I'm all for indie games and cheap games as well and I believe the premium games can co-exist much like mastertronic, firebird, codemasters etc did back in the halcyon days of mine and many other readers here youth but there has to be a line drawn somewhere. Better late than never I guess.

Re: Hardware Review: Sony INZONE H9 II - The Perfect Gaming Headset?

Northern_munkey

I was rocking the Sony platinum headset for a long time but eventually the battery started to lose its charge time so I bought the ps5 pulse 3d ones and for the price I'm very, very happy with them so the question I'm asking the reviewer I guess is are they worth upgrading too? How much better is the audio compared to the pulse 3d's?

Re: Forza Horizon 6 May Come to PS5 This Year as Xbox, PC Release Date Leaks

Northern_munkey

@MrPeanutbutterz why what's wrong with FH5's handling? Never had any issue with the handling on my T598 wheel or when I knackered my heel and had to use the dualsense to play it for a few weeks. Using the dualsense made me realise how much pad players miss out on the amount of detail that a steering wheel setup provides via the force feedback such as the terrain detail and inertia etc so is that what you mean? Anyway I'm looking forwards to the next instalment of Forza on the ps5 but not as much as Assetto corsa rally.

Re: Ubisoft Cuts Jobs at Massive Entertainment, with The Division 3 Still in Development

Northern_munkey

"In short, Ubisoft's going to need to start pumping out hits again in the relatively near future." You could say this about every publisher. Ubisoft are one of the most consistent publishers at the moment (personal opinion) and appear to have the most successful franchises still and not only that they still manage to support their older games. The division just received a 60fps patch and farcry 4 had one too not that long ago. All this talk about the imminent demise of ubisoft is getting to be a bit daft.

Re: Arc Raiders Now a Huge Multiplayer Success Story at 12 Million Sales

Northern_munkey

Loving it. It's a tense game when you don't know who's friend or foe. It's one of the better online co-op games I've played in a long time and even though I can see why people will get a bit bored I can't see me getting tired of it soon as there are just way too many laugh out loud moments and random chaos during raids. Night raids have gone from being something I was wary of to being one of the most played raids in rotation. Stella Montis is just a lunatic asylum and its always shotgun first question later..

Re: Talking Point: Did ANTHEM Deserve the Hate?

Northern_munkey

I wanted to try this when it launched but I never did for some reason. Every comment I've read about it appear to be quite mixed as in either people love it or despise it. It seems to me (personal opinion here) that EA have had a few ip's that they just didn't know what to do with and I'm just glad they didn't balls BF6 up but I guess there is still time. I'll never forgive the lousy ***** for closing down codemasters.
