Nice to see Arc Raiders at the top of the list. Such an awesome game which has me glued to the ps5 for a few hours most evenings. Imperfect audio? The audio in AR is the best I've heard in any game and you know exactly which direction the action is at and it's very easy to hear the rats trying to sneak on you.
Such a tragic shame especially at this time of year. Vince zampella and Chris rea in the same week is a real loss regardless of whether you are a fan or not. R.I.P.
I've always enjoyed racing games. However the ps5 threw 3 incredibly great driving games at me and those are in order of my preference.. 1)Dirt rally 2.0 2)EA wrc 3)GT7 These 3 games transformed how I play and how I approach the racing genre. They are also responsible for making me fork out for a decent sim racing wheel and frame to house it. GT7 is a stunning game that is accessible to everybody and can be tweaked to accommodate all levels of driving abilities. I initially wasn't an adopter of GT7 because of all the negative things I'd read about the graphics being rubbish etc, etc, etc but when @Kidfunkadelic83 put his sale pitch to me (much the same way I allegedly bullied him into buying the T598) I took the plunge and bought it and I love it and one thing became very clear to me and that was all those people talking smack about the graphics have obviously never played it properly or have extremely bad eyesight. I'm a rally enthusiast foremost but that does not mean I like GT7 any less and I'm waiting for GT8 patiently seeing as PMR has turned out to be such a mess. Asseto corsa rally next year. Oh I'll be taking GT7 for a big spin soon once I get my ps5 Pro and psvr2..what a game.
Arc raiders for me and the obligatory rally session. I just bought painkiller in the sale so I'm also up for a bit of silly turn your brain off doom style mayhem. I must get back to BF6 as well because I've really been neglecting it and it deserves more respect from me but you know..Arc raiders. Anyhow have a great weekend folks 👍
Being a 53 year old gamer and in no way a Potter fan I really liked this game and enjoyed my time with it. When the ps5 was announced this was one of the games that immediately caught my eye and it turned out to be one of my favourite chill out games. I can't comment on the differing spell colours or descriptions of other spells as I had zero knowledge of the Potter verse but I still enjoyed the game. When I get my ps5 Pro I will jump in again to see how much better it is.
To all those saying "started well then said survival..." it was in the footnote under the header. Did you all miss that bit and if you didn't you just thought you'd read a bit further to have something to complain about? I for one will keep an eye out for this as I was dismissive of Arc Raiders which has turned out to be my GOTY thus far.
Yawn...another AI article that does nothing but spread more negativity. Did I read correctly that the AI is being used internally but is not actually being used in the game itself? I don't see the issue if that's the case therefore a load of hullabaloo about nothing again.
@KundaliniRising333 the same was said about arc raiders. I myself was sceptical as to how good arc raiders would be but I took a punt on it and I really, really like it. I'll be giving marathon a go for sure as at that price point it's worth a try.
@KundaliniRising333 black myth was so much more than a boss run. There was loads of side quests if one could be bothered. Not sure why this is a ps5 exclusive if it launches on the pc at the same time? To me "exclusive" means it's on one format only..not two.
I remember back in the early 90's when I still had hair and my Sega megadrive. I bought the terminator game which took less time to finish than it did for me to travel into Manchester City centre, navigate the arndale centre to purchase said game. What a day that was and a disappointing 45 mins. £1 a minute.
More Arc raiders,EA wrc and Dirt rally 2.0. My raiding buddy wants to try the outlast trials in co-op so I might try and scare myself sh*tless this evening..have a great weekend folks 👍
@Balaam_ when lotf launched it was a bit ropey but I never saw the resolution drop at all..it had frame rate dips and some screen tearing but the devs were on it super fast and it was sorted in a few days. Everything that was a bit iffy was super over exaggerated to the point I was actually laughing my arse off at some of the bullsh*t I was reading. I can't wait for this one.
@LogicStrikesAgain I'm an unapologetic ps5 fanboy..it would be a bit strange to include myself on a PlayStation centric site if I wasn't. Anyhow I think this game looks pretty decent. I loved left 4 dead 1+2 and I still enjoy a spot of back 4 blood as well. I was really enjoying BF6 until I bought arc raiders and that's my go to online game for the foreseeable. I hope this turns out to be great.
Avril Lavigne punk? The sex pistols,The clash,The damned hell I'd even go so far as to say The new York dolls are punk and let's not forget Iggy pop the grand daddy of punk..Avril lavigne 🤣
Jesus not another gotcha wallet game. People complain there's too many souls like games saturating the market but these things are like a virus spreading..
Well it's got a great pedigree coming from the makers of titanfall and apex legends so the gunplay is going to be tighter than the bee gees nuts in tight bell bottoms but the setting puts me off..it reminds me of destiny with a bit of fortnite..maybe I'll try as its free as you never know it may actually be good.
If I'm going to get interested in another CoD entry it will need a new game engine that delivers a similar destruction on a BF6 level. It will also need to get rid of the archaic install system as that is just ridiculous and very convoluted. Return warzone to its original incarnation with zero rainbow coloured characters and cartoon nonsense and no "wannabe" very minor annoying celebs. Keep it real in a modern era or at least a conflict that hasn't been covered yet such as the Korean war or a full blown viet nam campaign.
@LifeGirl the comic run was exactly the same. Just when you thought you had read and seen everything Ennis just ramped it up. My only gripe with the series is that it dosnt really follow the plot of the comics and major characters such as love sausage are relegated to cameos. Still an awesome series but could have been better. We won't even discuss preacher.
To be totally honest I wasn't sold on the ps5 Pro at all. Then my mate bought one and GT7 and once I actually saw the thing running the difference was quite big. Its not a massive..huge difference but its enough for me to save up for one along with the psvr2 headset. Horses for courses.
@Titntin cheers for the info. I loved the original TDU back on the 360 but wasn't too taken with the 2nd. I might give this a butchers and grab it for a rainy day.
The usual I'm afraid folks..Arc raiders,EA wrc and Dirt rally 2.0. I am thinking of purchasing test drive solar crown as its £17.50 at the moment but I'm not sure..anybody got any opinions on this?
@ItsAlwaysSunnyyy there are shed loads of games that utilise the haptic feedback in the dual sense. The touch pad is used quite extensively too. A quick Google search will give you lists of games and there's way too many to list here.
My original dual sense that came with my ps5 was truly awful in terms of battery life..After a few weeks of use it was always on charge. I replaced it with a midnight black version a little over a year ago and this one stays charged for considerably longer considering how much I use it which is a few hours most evenings (damn that arc raiders.) So is this actually a new thing?
Never had a problem with my ps4 or ps5 until the last system update. After installing that one I've had my ps5 hang on me about 7 times..hopefully this solves that issue.
@yume26 in my honest opinion its worth every penny. The T598 is very smooth whereas the logitech is quite gritty in feeling. The pedals are far superior with the T598 being Hall effect sensors whereas the logitechs are potention meters and just can't compete. I would like to upgrade mine to the load cell pedals when they are released next year. Also worth mentioning is the T598's wheel is 30cm whereas the logitechs is 28cm. The T150 was 28cm and believe me the extra 2cm makes a difference..so the wife tells me 🤣
@yume26 I upgraded from a thrustmaster T150 which is a bit better than the logitech g29 as its belt and gear driven but I very, very quickly out grew it which is why I'm now a dedicated T598 user. If you know you are going to be using a wheel for racing games I'd seriously recommend maybe saving for a direct drive unit as its a much, much better experience.
@yume26 sorry I didn't reply as I was so damn busy today at work. I myself like @Kidfunkadelic83 have a thrustmaster T598 which is a really good solid mid level direct drive wheel. I have it bolted to a GTplayer frame which dosnt take up too much space. My TV is a hisense 43 inch 4k which is on the corner unit in the back half of the living room and not bolted to the racing frame as its not possible to mount it to my frame. I use the racing frame as my main gaming chair too. If you can afford the T598 and a sturdy stand it's highly recommended from myself.
