Switch: Animal Crossing New Horizons: haven't made any more hotel progress yet, but I am close to affording the first storage upgrade from the new update. PS4: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1+: doing late game level grinding right now and most of my characters are now in the late 90s in terms of level. All I have to do now is defeat the final boss Arfoire and then I've beaten the game. After that, I will start a new game that isn't Neptunia for the first time in a few months, and it will be on Switch this time. I already have a game in mind for what I want to play next.
Also, this may came as a surprise to y'all, but after I beat Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1+ I will be leaving Push Square for the time being. Not because I dislike this website or the people on it, but because my PS4 will be going into storage. I will explain in more detail in the goodbye / vacation forum thread after I beat the game, which, as evidenced above, should be soon π.
I'm not seeing any mention of Rabbids at all. Did they just give up on that series? So far as I know, it was pretty prevalent back in the early 2010s. It even had a cartoon called Rabbids Invasion back in 2015-2018, which I actually watched some of (nowhere close to a masterpiece, but it did give me a few good laughs). Did pretty poor sales of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope cause them to give up on it? That game is one of my most favorite games of all time, but I do admit it did sell pretty poorly.
Also sucks to hear about the Sands of Time Remake, I know a decent amount of people were looking forward to that one.
Switch: Animal Crossing New Horizons: I haven't started my Slumber Island yet, but I've let my two younger sisters start theirs with the two extra and they are really getting a kick out of it. Also, I've only done the first two rooms at the hotel so far. But I do want to delve into the update further once I beat my current PS4 game. PS4: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1+: all of my characters are currently in the late 70s - early 80s in terms of level thanks to a great new grinding spot. Story wise, I have all the Key Fragments and now I have to look for the oracle Histoire. I'm pretty sure that I'm approaching the end of the game pretty soon, sometime in the next few weeks probably.
Switch: Animal Crossing New Horizons: a few days ago, I paid off MY FINAL HOME LOAN!!! Now I'm starting to save up for the two more from the new update next week π . Tetris 99: I got the theme from the new Maximus Cup yesterday already, but I might play a few more rounds just for kicks this weekend.
PS4: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1+: found a great monster for grinding and have been doing a lot of that before taking on a story boss that I lost to a few times, most of my party member characters are now in their mid 50s in terms of level.
This is a win-win situation if it is implemented. If anyone just wants to chill and enjoy a game segment without having to deal with more difficult stuff, or doesn't have anyone around to help them at the time, or, as mentioned by other comments here, have any disabilities, then they have the option to use it. And anyone who doesn't want to use it, seemingly has the option to never use it.
As for me, I would never use it myself. Just occasionally looking up a website guide or YouTube video is good enough for me, since I like doing things myself. Though I do totally understand why some people would love this option.
Switch: Animal Crossing New Horizons: just selling more crops to obtain bells to pay for house storage upgrades. PS4: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1+: I'm already on Chapter 3 in the game, and the main character, Neptune, has been poisoned by a bad guy and is out of action right now, but a different goddess character named Vert has taken her place, and I'm searching a new dungeon called Marabuco Forest to defeat a specific monster with an antidote that will help cure Neptune. All of my party members are now in their late 20s in terms of level.
Happy new year, y'all! There are already some games confirmed for this year that look interesting to me (whether I pick up any of them is another thing entirely though π ).
The one thing I'm worried about with this ram shortage and all that is I might not be able to get the gaming PC that I was planning on getting in the future.
Switch: Animal Crossing New Horizons: I'm halfway there to being able to afford the (currently) final house storage upgrade. Will also participate in the New Year's countdown just like the last two years. PS4: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1+: got this game as a Christmas present two days ago, and have been playing it and loving it. Most of my party members are around Level 10 and I already have access to two of the cities: Planeptune and Lastation.
Oh man. It's not every day you hear about an influential person in an industry pass away because of a car crash. Rest in peace, and I'll make sure to pray for your family.
Based on what I've seen, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter's victory is well deserved. Definitely a game I want to get to at some point, whether it's the original on GOG or the remake on Switch (I don't have a PS5, and my PS4 can't play it). The one thing I've heard about it that I don't like is the changed dialogue.
Hello again, and merry upcoming Christmas, y'all! This weekend I'm playing:
Switch: Animal Crossing New Horizons: just the usual. I won't be participating in Toy Day either since I already have all the items for it. Just one more house storage upgrade to go... until the version 3.0 update adds two more! Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: some extended family is coming over on Sunday and staying at our house over the next few days. One of them is my uncle that likes playing couch multiplayer games with the family. We will definitely play at least some Smash just like his last visit. How much I'm unsure. PS4: Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online: since we're very close to Christmas now, after today I will put this game on hiatus for a while and return to it in a few months hopefully. All of my most used characters are above Level 70, with Blanc slightly above Level 80. All I have left to do now in the story is defeat the Paramount Pair (the Demon King's generals), and then the Demon King himself. But I found the last boss rather difficult, and I had to grind levels quite a bit just to defeat that one, so I have no idea how much more grinding I'll need for the last few bosses.
As long as they don't give up on the "Japanese-ness" (not a real word, but it gets the point across) of the series, I'll be glad if people around the world find more interest in series like this one.
@Psofo, exactly! I don't get why people are celebrating it. It's not like they're stealing the exact same copyrighted name or anything. And for anyone who is claiming that it "looks the exact same", no it doesn't. Cases like this do not help the game industry whatsoever.
The surge in viewership from 2023 to 2024 is, to be frank, more incredible than 2024 to 2025, honestly, though bigger numbers over time are expected. As for me, 2024 was the first year that I watched it.
Switch: Animal Crossing New Horizons: same old. Just harvesting crops to get bells that will pay toward house storage upgrades. About a month until version 3.0 launches! PS4: Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online: made massive story progress and unlocked several more new areas in the process. I only need one more legendary item until I can finally summon the goddesses and, as far as I know, reach the endgame. All of my party members are above Level 40, but Blanc is level 60 already because I've been using her the most. I might not beat it before Christmas and have to put it on hiatus though π€. The Dragon Quest XI fate (my nickname for when a game goes on hiatus, since that game itself is currently on hiatus) is a menace.
As much as it sucks, if Rockstar sees no need for those people to work there anymore, then laying them off is a smart, money-saving move. If I were the boss of a massive company, I would lay off workers if I didn't think they were necessary to keep around, especially if they are lazy workers.
@Dan12836666 @Jrs1, his announcement of the Digital ID made me dislike him even more... which I didn't think was even possible.
It won't let me see it because I'm not quite 18 years old, even though the Switch one let me do it in previous years π‘.
Anyway, this year I played a combined total of roughly 50 hours between both Super Neptunia RPG and Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online. Though I only got my PS4 in late October... which means I played 50 hours in the span of about a month and a week.
Hello again, y'all! I'm a bit late since I forgot to check Push Square earlier this morning, but this weekend I'm playing:
Switch: Animal Crossing New Horizons Super Mario Maker 2: just a bit more Course World to reach the coveted 100 hour mark. PS4: Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online: about eight hours in now, all of my eight party members are above level 10, but my favorite one that I've used the whole time is well on its way to level 20 (π€£).
Sounds good! Hopefully it also gets a PS4 release, since it was released on Switch 1, and I just really like the PS4 and this game looks interesting. I might pick it up someday if I have the time and money for it.
Switch: Animal Crossing New Horizons: the road to affording the second house storage increase continues. I will also use the codes to get Nintendo's new holiday clothing custom designs. Super Mario Maker 2: I uploaded another level yesterday, you can check out the details on that in the Mario Maker 2 level sharing thread (on Nintendo Life). PS4: Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online: bought it on the PS Store Black Friday Sale for $9.00 and played it for an hour yesterday. Think Hyrule Warriors but Neptunia and with way fewer monsters. This game will be my main focus this weekend, and probably until Christmas.
As long as JRPGs continue to be some awesome games, including a decent amount of turn-based ones, and they keep being mostly offline, I don't particularly care what "version" of JPRGs is current π.
Switch: Animal Crossing New Horizons: I'm getting close to being able to afford the second house storage upgrade for 700,000 bells. My younger sister and I have already dumped over 20 hours in this game since January's update was announced. PS4: Super Neptunia RPG: all of my party members are now slightly above or almost at level 60 and the next part of the main story is to take on the headquarters of the Bombyx Mori (the bad guy organization), so I'll possibly beat this game by the end of next week. It all depends on how much more sidequests and grinding I want to do.
@Kraven, I'm sorry for your loss and I hope you feel better soon (Already did this on Nintendo Life, but since you're also here I left it in again).
I personally prefer actual games for Christmas (heck, my number 1 item on my Christmas list this year is a physical copy of Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 Plus on the PS4), but I have no issues with other people wanting different things.
@TechaNinja, this is kind of unrelated to the article, but I love your avatar picture! Ever since I watched the Neptunia anime for the first time earlier this year, the Neptunia series has become one of my most favorites and I've also started playing the games.
The Steam Machine has my interest, but it would need to fit the following conditions for me to want one:
Around $600 would be a suitable price range Needs to have both Steam and GOG support, as well as game modding capability Steam needs to fight back against Visa and Mastercard and stop the adult game censorship happening on its platform
They seemingly aren't making any money off of Sony's property, and Concord is not legally available for purchase anymore, so I see no reason why people doing this can't happen. In other words, I don't like what MarkScan is doing here.
Switch: Animal Crossing New Horizons: going to dump some more time into this one to celebrate the upcoming launch of the January 2026 update. I'll probably also let my younger sister play more with my supervision. PS4: Super Neptunia RPG: all of my party members are now in the early 40s in terms of level. I'm just grinding experience and doing a few sidequests before moving on with the story. Current number of trophies: 21
I'm not one of the people who complains about AI art but damn, needing to be always online and not being able to pause single player missions of all things is just mind boggling.
I've been looking into getting into Trails at some point, and I think these remakes would be a good starting point. I don't have a PS5 yet and probably never will, so I'll probably play these on Switch eventually.
Personally an 7/10 for me. Not the best video game showcase I've seen by a long shot, but also not horrible by a long shot. Was pleasantly pleased the whole time. π
Seriously, just keep supporting online features on the PS4, and maybe allow a few more new Neptunia games to be on PS4, and I'm good with my PS4 for life.
Ooh, Japanese games! I might tune in to my first State of Play if I have the time. I wonder if they'll announce that new mainline Neptunia game that was supposed to be announced by the end of this year π€.
Seems like the only way to play discontinued games is to pirate them. That's one of the scenarios where I have no issue with pirating, especially if someone paid for the actual game.
