Re: Review: Lumines Remastered (PS4)

Dang I love this game. It's so intense/exciting. I don't think I'll ever hit stage 100 though. My best on PSP was in the 50s I think? I think it's been over 10 years ..........

Re: Sony Issues Statement Regarding Fortnite Cross-Platform Play on PS4

I would still like to know definitively whether or not the decision to the lock the account was made by Epic of Sony. All indications would seem to point at this being Epic's decision.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, from a business prospective cross platform is always going to hurt the company on top the most.

Personally, I believe it should be up to the developer/host to decide whether or not crossplay is allowed. It is ultimately their time and money to enable these features. This is also why I think the account lock is an Epic issue and not a Sony issue too.

@glassmusic they were open to it longer than they've been against it. When they were the underdog, they loved the idea, but now that they are on top, it is seen as something that will hurt business (because it would likely hurt them). Microsoft was the same way last generation.

Re: Sony Prevents PS4 Players from Logging in to Fortnite on Switch

This seems more like an Epic issue? Even if Sony doesn't allow crossplatform play, Epic should still be able to allow the login from that account (even if it doesn't mean anything carries over). Warframe doesn't have crossplay, but you can still use the same DE account on both platforms (with different saves on each).

Because of the way that error is worded, it seems a little passive aggressive on Epic's part. It's very possibly Sony and Epic have some sort of contract that prevents them from allowing it, but that seems unlikely (and even if that's the case, it's Epic's fault for accepting/allowing that).

Re: Soapbox: PS Plus Freebie Beyond: Two Souls Is One of Sony's Stranger Games

The game starts pretty slow, but it was really worth sticking with. It's one of the more memorable games I've played on the PS3. I'd like to go back and re-play it in the new 'chronological' mode though. I'm wondering how different an experience that will be.

I recommend playing completely solo if possible, but if you have someone to play start to finish with, it's worth checking out the coop mode.

Re: Guide: Yakuza 6: The Song of Life - Everything You Need to Know

I've always been very interested in these games, but never found the combat to be 'fun'. Judging from the demo, combat seems to be fairly minor compared to the story/world. Is that accurate in the full game?

Also, does the game actually support the Pro or is it just utilizing 'boost mode' to help framerate? The demo had some super nasty jaggies, so I'm hoping the full version offers some sort of 4k mode?

Re: Monster Hunter: World PS4 Patch 2.01 Squashes a Couple of Bugs

@Flopsy I'm convinced they just have the option to turn on/off the signal, but they don't do anything to process the image any differently.

Sadly, I don't see them ever making this a priority. The engine is an older engine that probably wasn't designed to account for true HDR visuals. I can't imagine they'd put effort into what only affects a very small % of their player base.

Re: Dark Souls Remastered Cleans Up Nicely on PS4 Pro

NathanUC

@Bliquid This could also explain the lack of any real graphical improvement on the other consoles. Considering the Switch version is struggling with last gen graphics at 720p, if they pushed the other two consoles harder, the Switch version probably wouldn't even be possible (if they were going for cheap/easy port)

Re: Dark Souls Remastered Cleans Up Nicely on PS4 Pro

NathanUC

I wish I enjoyed this game as much as everyone else, but there was just about about the Dark Souls series I never loved like I did Demon's and Bloodborne. 60 FPS will be a HUGE improvement for fans of the original though. I'm not a framerate snob at all, but when precision controls are involved, there's no substitute.

Re: Monster Hunter: World PS4 Patch 2.0 Out Now, Unleashes Deviljho, Adjusts Weapon Balance

NathanUC

Anyone saying he's too easy... don't forget he's just a high rank monster still. ALL high rank monsters are 'easy' and always have been 'easy' for vets.

His armor set is fairly decent with such high handicraft. His weapons are hit/miss. They would be a lot more 'viable' if the Diablos weapons with non-elemental deco weren't so OP. With augs, some of them have the potential to be very powerful.
