Was a little disappointed that the game doesn't support 120fps on PS5. It supports it on PC, and I can even get the game running at 120fps on my Steam Deck in docked mode without issues, so the game certainly is designed to support it. It helps so much to reduce sample-and-hold motion blur on modern displays, and this game has a lot of fast lateral scrolling. It's just really disappointing to see developers still refuse to embrace modern features on the current gen consoles for no reason.
Sadly, the performance seems to be a major issue in the game. I know this reviewer says otherwise, but I've seen the proof elsewhere. It's especially bad on PS5 Pro (worse than base PS5). So I'll just have to stick with the HD remaster. Happy for those that aren't bothered by that though! The visuals look pretty great.
But does the PS5 version support 120fps? They've said that the Switch 2 version will, but that's not a guarantee that the PS5 version will. It certainly should, but I'd love to know for sure.
I see a lot of people mentioning that it isn't the same character so it makes sense, but that isn't entirely true though, since it is the same character in Ground Zeros.
Would love it if it had a 120fps option to reduce motion blur on modern displays, but I doubt it since the PC demo was hard locked to 60fps. Regardless, I can't wait for this one! Been a huge fan of the series since the original NES game released back in the day.
Did they ever patch in a way to leave the "point of no return" area near the end of the game? I've been stuck there ever since they started giving free updates, and have never been able to try them out as a result. I just don't have the time to start a brand new play through just to get the free updates.
Never played it because I was never able to finish the first game (PS3 and PS4 versions). Every time I tried it, I always lose interest about a few hours into it.
It was always a problem with the series moving further and further away from its roots over the years. When you alienate the fans that made the series a success in the first place, it only leads to fewer sales over time.
I just could not get into Nightreign during the beta. And I consider the original Elden Ring to be one of my favorite games of all time. Sadly, I think I'm just going to skip this one.
Considering I've gotten quite a bit of wallet funds from the program, yeah I absolutely hate that it's going away. And no, I don't expect them to replace it with anything that allows that again.
Same crap that Nintendo just pulled as well when they got rid of the gold coins you could use towards eShop purchases. These companies just refuse to give their customers any kind of benefits.
The problem I had with this game is that I hit a point of no return near the end which locks you out of alllll of the new content that has been added to the game since its release. And I don't have the time to go back and replay the entire game just to experience the new content. So I've missed out on everything since. Unless I'm missing something about a way to return to the rest of the game from the area I'm locked into before the final battle.
This has been a pattern with Bungie for a while now, and when it happens this often, it is absolutely intentional on the highest level of the design/art team. One time offense? Sure, you can chalk that up to an understandable (but still egregious) oversight. 4 times in recent years? Yeah no, that comes from the top.
@Stino69 Thorough is the word I'd use. Not "anal". They simply report their findings, regardless of how minor or major they are. They even often mention that most people won't be affected by many of the minor findings they discover, either through VRR or by simply not noticing them.
@DennisReynolds Sadly, that Xbox patch for Oblivion didn't actually improve performance. DF just released a new video this morning updating their findings on that one. They discovered that the game's performance dramatically drops after you've been playing the game for roughly 15 minutes or more. And that their previous test with that patch was from a fresh boot of the game, which gave the false impression that performance had improved with the patch. It didn't.
Hate to say it, but I don't see any gameplay in that trailer at all. It's just cutscenes. Unless the cutscenes are quick-time events and they are counting that as gameplay.
Fatal Fury for me. I'm a huge fighting game fan, and this game absolutely delivers. Even with the genuinely crappy inclusion of some real lifers in the roster (one in particular).
@Nei Keep in mind that it's 1M copies in only a few days. Plus it's a brand new franchise from a no-name developer with zero brand recognition. Those factors are important when considering the success here, and you can bet SquareEnix understands that as well.
Agreed that SquareEnix has been trying to gaslight Final Fantasy fans that we don't like turn-based combat. They lost the plot a long time ago with the series, which is a real shame. It used to be my absolute uncontested favorite RPG series back in the day. But those days are long gone, and I haven't even bothered to play FF16 yet. Something that younger me would have never thought possible considering how high of a pedestal I used to place the series on.
@brizzbrett What a bad take. Someone giving their honest review of a game is not undermining a developer's work. It's respecting their work. Actual insanely bad take.
@solocapers No, I'm asking for a remake. A remaster already exists on PS4 and other modern consoles/PC. A remake is a remake of the same game but with remade modern visuals (Demon's Souls and Super Mario Allstars). A remaster is the same game with the same visuals but in higher resolution and sometimes higher res textures and other minor tweaks. You're thinking of a reimagining for remakes. The new version of Resident Evil 2 and Metroid Zero Mission are reimaginings. They are completely different games compared to the originals and do not replace them.
I think FF7 Remake is good. Rebirth is less good (waaayy too much filler/bloat), but still good. But I've also always been disappointed that we never got a real remake of the original FF7.
Just give us the original game with remade visuals and the original gameplay. What makes it even more annoying is that they literally have the new visuals now in that mobile game, but they're wasting them on said mobile gotcha game. Use those assets and give us the original game! It's such an easy win that it's mind boggling that they aren't grabbing that low hanging fruit.
Very good news. Even if I don't believe them for a second that it's a "bug". Please, you don't release a game with such a glaring flaw and don't notice it in testing. They just hoped people wouldn't care, but the blow back was big enough for them to change course and try to "fix" it.
@Barry_vV You should never ever based your purchasing decisions on a hope and a prayer that a developer will fix problems with a game later down the line. Sometimes it happens. Most of the time it doesn't.
Surprised by AI Limit's price. It's only $31.49. I remember trying the demo and having some issue with it, but I actually don't remember what it was. I should try it again.

Re: Metal Gear Solid Delta's Dismal PS5 Pro Support Could Use a Rethink
Absolutely incompetent job by the developer and Konami for allowing this as the publisher. The game isn't ready and should be delayed until it is.

Still very much not for me personally. Never played the first game either. But happy for everyone looking forward to the game.
