Biggest reaction out of me was for Soulcalibur III lol. Saros looked cool. Wolverine was a movie trailer, no gameplay no care.

This is a game by crackheads for crackheads and that's precisely why I'm going to play it.

PS1 is still the best of the three but I still like what the new one is going for. Not a fan of that like hazy dream filter Reimagined has, the colors are washed-out.
3DS version did a remarkable job for the limitations it had on a handheld, it looks excellent in motion.

So many games coming out in the late September though October period that this one falls short. I don't think Sony's done a good job showcasing this game, maybe the idea was the reception of the first game was meant to sell you on the sequel but idk how effective that'll be. I might pick it up used down the line.

The first game is the scariest, but II is definitely the best one by a wide margin. I really don't like the look of this remake though. For anyone interested, give the original a shot first.

@4fold DQVII is an extremely long game, they're probably planning to trim the fat or at least relegate some of the scenarios to optional content.
Like with any remake, I recommend playing the original beforehand, but prepare for a whale of a video game if you do.

Guess I'm playing solo then. Hope the uh... "tension" is worth the lack of options.

@tameshiyaku A lot of these dog ***** shows have 2 season contracts from the start. Almost certainly the case with Tomb Raider too, I doubt it pulled in decent numbers.

CrossWorlds doesn't look great but definitely looks more fun than MKW. Fingers crossed that it's good but if not at least Air Riders looks promising.

@LazyDaisy I don't disagree that there are leagues of goonery between Resident Evil and NIKKE, the point me (and I assume PuppetMaster) were making was that sex appeal has always been a staple for Jill's character design. Ergo why she would be a fit for a game like this, or why Capcom thinks she would be at least.

Resident Evil 2 has a ***** ton of unlockable content, that's basically what achievements were before the 360/PS3 era.
Idk about 3, I had it on the Gamecube when I was a kid and never finished it. At the very least I know it's got a lot of replay value like RE 1 & 2.

I was disappointed when this didn't show up in February, glad to see it finally has a date. It looks sick!

@get2sammyb Provided they can make raptors as smart and unyielding as the Xenomorph was. A lot of other first person survival horror games just throw you from one railroaded sequence to the next and sprinkle a couple of death walls in the way lol

Fingers crossed it features deeper gameplay than 'avoid patrolling dinosaurs while touring reference city', I'd really like this one to be great.

FINALLY RE 2 & 3 are available on at least ONE modern platform. I don't want these older games to get completely supplanted by their remakes.

@JaBrony123 I'd say it's likely due to industry bloat and people in managerial positions who shouldn't be. They get to be too expensive to justify keeping in development, meanwhile the actual quality of the game is under the floor or stuck in hell because of mismanagement.
It's certainly disappointing to hear if you're anticipating the game, but at least games like Perfect Dark and Wonder Woman had the decency to be cancelled. Some trash games just get released anyways lol

I doubt a BioShock made today would be any good, but thanks to indies there's no shortage of Immersive Sim type / atmospheric shooters, so no great loss here.

I don't think it'll blow me away but it looks pretty damn good. I'll be playing this right after Tsushima for the first time. Looking forward to both, though more towards the first because of its stellar reputation.

@Lanmanna Welcome to the internet dude, opinions abound. My original comment was rejecting the first guy's notion of only being able to judge something if you've bought and played it yourself. That's bs, trailers are made to be judged. There's no such thing as some unanimous correct opinion.

I've yet to finish either Expedition 33 or Monster Hunter Wilds. But the former is easily the best thing I've played this year and it's not even close. I haven't played much new this year yet, but here are the rankings (for all platforms) so far:

1. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - Love this game. Currently running as my game of the year uncontested
2. Nitro Express (PC only for now) - Really fun and chaotic Metal Slug style run & gun. Excellent art style, is decently challenging and still respects your time
3. The Midnight Walk - Decent walking sim. Not much going on in the gameplay department but it's worth a play to soak in the art and atmosphere (not worth the $40 asking price though, wait for a sale)
4. Monster Hunter Wilds - MH formula has been simplified to the point where this game is simply not any fun to me. Extremely dull gameplay and constantly drags you kicking and screaming into its garbage story.
5. Mario Kart World (Sw2 obviously) - Open world is at odds with MK's core design. Makes for some of the most uninspired tracks and the most meandering races I have ever experienced in a Mario Kart game. Absolutely NOT worth the $80 asking price.

Special mention to the first Kingdom Come Deliverance, which I played through the first half of the year. It's become one of my all-time favorites and I'm excited to jump into the sequel when time allows!

Seeing Bloober's name did the opposite for me. But what they've shown doesn't look bad so I'll keep an eye on it.

Have we seen any gameplay of Ghost of Yotei yet? I've only seen the initial trailer which I only remember it being a CG, then the wolf trailer from the latest SoP.

Been waiting for this one for a while now actually. I remember when it was called Hitler's Legacy and the premise was the protagonist being the long lost half-Japanese grandson of the funny mustache man or something to that effect.

Like anything the story has probably seen a lot of changes through development.

Hopefully the simpler story of SH1 plays to their advantage. And maybe this time they don't bloat the original's brisk pace with tedious combat.

A lot actors involved with this did their movement no favors on social media. Maybe next time they shouldn't resort to harassing the VAs that replaced them and insulting the only people who would reasonably care about their cause 🤷

Midnight Walk is the only thing on this list that I played. Fantastic production but not much of an actual game.

Nitro Express is my pick for May games, chaotic Metal Slug style shoot-em-up on steam. Short, sweet, and cheap, easy recommend!

Potentially great news being freed from the Square Enix shackles! The first TWEWY is a masterpiece, and though I don't love the sequel nearly as much it's still a super unique game that's stuck with me since I've played it.

Hopefully not a gacha but those designs certainly look gacha-esque

@get2sammyb I'm sure that'll happen with me too eventually, but for now so long as I'm logging in daily I might as well go for every character. Even if that means I have to pay for one every once in a while.

With that standard s-rank selector I'll finally be able to get Rina and have every agent in the game. I've been lucky enough to win the last FIVE 50/50s (Evelyn, Anby, Trigger, Vivian, and Hugo)!

Lighter is so far the only character I've specifically spent money on ($100 on his final day in 1.3), but I've also bought two of the battle passes and one or two of those "limited encrypted master tapes" deals in order to sure up resources for Astra and Ellen in 1.5.
I don't bother with the W-Engines, which I'm sure has helped too.
