Re: BioShock PS5 Sequel in Dev Hell, Remake of Original Scrapped

Kingy

@JaBrony123 I'd say it's likely due to industry bloat and people in managerial positions who shouldn't be. They get to be too expensive to justify keeping in development, meanwhile the actual quality of the game is under the floor or stuck in hell because of mismanagement.
It's certainly disappointing to hear if you're anticipating the game, but at least games like Perfect Dark and Wonder Woman had the decency to be cancelled. Some trash games just get released anyways lol

Re: Talking Point: What's Your PS5 Game of the Year for 2025 So Far?

Kingy

I've yet to finish either Expedition 33 or Monster Hunter Wilds. But the former is easily the best thing I've played this year and it's not even close. I haven't played much new this year yet, but here are the rankings (for all platforms) so far:

1. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - Love this game. Currently running as my game of the year uncontested
2. Nitro Express (PC only for now) - Really fun and chaotic Metal Slug style run & gun. Excellent art style, is decently challenging and still respects your time
3. The Midnight Walk - Decent walking sim. Not much going on in the gameplay department but it's worth a play to soak in the art and atmosphere (not worth the $40 asking price though, wait for a sale)
4. Monster Hunter Wilds - MH formula has been simplified to the point where this game is simply not any fun to me. Extremely dull gameplay and constantly drags you kicking and screaming into its garbage story.
5. Mario Kart World (Sw2 obviously) - Open world is at odds with MK's core design. Makes for some of the most uninspired tracks and the most meandering races I have ever experienced in a Mario Kart game. Absolutely NOT worth the $80 asking price.

Special mention to the first Kingdom Come Deliverance, which I played through the first half of the year. It's become one of my all-time favorites and I'm excited to jump into the sequel when time allows!

Re: Poll: Vote for Your PS5 Game of the Month (May 2025)

Midnight Walk is the only thing on this list that I played. Fantastic production but not much of an actual game.

Nitro Express is my pick for May games, chaotic Metal Slug style shoot-em-up on steam. Short, sweet, and cheap, easy recommend!

With that standard s-rank selector I'll finally be able to get Rina and have every agent in the game. I've been lucky enough to win the last FIVE 50/50s (Evelyn, Anby, Trigger, Vivian, and Hugo)!

Lighter is so far the only character I've specifically spent money on ($100 on his final day in 1.3), but I've also bought two of the battle passes and one or two of those "limited encrypted master tapes" deals in order to sure up resources for Astra and Ellen in 1.5.
I don't bother with the W-Engines, which I'm sure has helped too.

Re: Analytics Firms Predict Pitiful Full-Price Sales for DOOM: The Dark Ages on PS5

Kingy

I'm playing through all the DOOMs before I get to the Dark Ages (currently on 64). After hearing much about the game I'm not really in a hurry to pick it up. Probably gonna get it digitally at a discount since the disc has practically nothing on it.

As of last night I extended the list to include Wolfenstein, Heretic, Quake, and some American McGee games to bide out more time for a sale.

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Can't Stop the Ubisoft Rot of Star Wars Outlaws and XDefiant

Kingy

I'm thinking the reason we haven't seen any sales data is likely because the sales are somewhere under 3 million, which would only look bad for Ubisoft after boldly announcing the game reached "3 million players". And since the game's momentum died before 4 million players, they had to stop with the weasel milestones. Granted AC games have legs and will undoubtedly sell more as the game starts to get significant discounts.

Re: As War on AI Rages, Two Zenless Zone Zero Stars Say They Were Replaced Without Prior Notice

Kingy

Not really seeing the controversy here with the information given. The actress for S11, who is on strike, refused to reprise the role so they recast her.
The actor for Lycaon claims he was available the entire time, but the character's gone unvoiced for the last two updates before being recast, so obviously we don't have the full story there.

I understand a lot of people are quick to jump to a company bad, little guy good stance. And that's not a terrible thing, you probably ought to be skeptical of corporations due to their capacity to manipulate and exploit said little guy. But context should also matter, and in scenarios like these where the actor says one thing and the company says another it's probably best to reserve judgment or at least add a qualifier to it until we have a more objective story on our hands.
If for nothing else, you'll take less risk looking like a fool in the future, or a reactionary, virtue signaler etc

Re: Iconic Anime Cowboy Bebop Has Now Infiltrated Fortnite on PS5, PS4

@TheDudeKenobi I get it, it can be annoying when someone is flippant about something they don't even really engage with. But if someone doesn't like seeing Spike in Fortnite where else would they voice that other than the announcement of Spike coming to Fortnite, y'know?

Hey, at least Spike actually uses a gun in his source material. Not like seeing Spider-Man blast people with an assault rifle lol

Re: Iconic Anime Cowboy Bebop Has Now Infiltrated Fortnite on PS5, PS4

Kingy

@TheDudeKenobi Not really no. I'm not opposed to crossovers, but I don't like how Fortnite does it where iconic characters are just plastered over the player avatar and don't retain any of their characteristics.
Game itself is fine though, I wasn't really into it but I didn't hate what I played way back. I replied to your comment because I think the whole 'evil negative gamers' narrative that's been going around the last year or so is really bad.

@TheDudeKenobi
Well it's plenty warranted to the people who dislike the thing,
and the choice is yours to engage with dissenting opinions on a topic. But "let people enjoy things" essentially just means "I don't want you to voice that opinion unless it aligns with mine".

@beltmenot Or what? Are you going to call the reaction police? People can't control what they don't like, and you don't get to decide if their feelings for something are warranted or not.
