You may remember that, almost a full year ago, Annapurna Interactive announced Morsels, a trippy, top-down, creature-collecting roguelite.
Initially planned for February of 2025, it was indefinitely delayed, but now, the publisher has finally unveiled a proper release date for the game.
It's coming to PS5 on 18th November, 2025, as revealed in the new gameplay trailer:
Developed by Furcula, the game features art by Toby Dixon (Atomicrops, Nidhogg 2) and music from Sam Webster (Grindstone).
The presentation is part of the game's grimy appeal, and it certainly looks and sounds pretty unique.
In terms of how it plays, it looks like it's a sort of twin stick shooter affair, not unlike The Binding of Isaac.
You play as a morsel, a strange creature, each one with their own traits and abilities. The idea is that you'll collect more morsels as you play, expanding the range of critters you can morph into. You can also evolve the morsels into more powerful forms.
In the trailer are a few quick shots of areas with totally different art styles; it seems these will be minigames or challenges you encounter during a run.
It looks like it has potential, but we'll need to play it to really appreciate what it's aiming for. It's still a few months away, but at least we have a release date in sight.

Looks kinda Nice.
I was disappointed when this didn't show up in February, glad to see it finally has a date. It looks sick!
Already on my wishlist but nice to see PushSquare cover some promising indie games.
I like this art style
I'm generally a big fan of anything Annapurna puts out, and this looks like it will be no different. Fun!
Art style: 10/10. Will buy.
