Silent Hill: Townfall remains in active development despite the almost three-year silence it has been since the reveal, its newly-named developer has today confirmed.
No Code, best known for titles like Observation and Stories Untold, announced it'll now be known as Screen Burn. As the studio actually has coders now, it thought of something that better resembles the studio in 2025.
"We’re analogue TV’s. 3.5” disk drives. Nostalgic and imperfect. We make games that stick with you, long after the credits roll," it's explained on the developer's website. "Games that persist. Like an old arcade machine, with the UI burned into the display forever. And with that, we are no longer No Code. We are now SCREEN BURN."

As part of the update, the team also touched on Silent Hill: Townfall, which it says it's still working on. "We keep saying 'we can’t wait to share more' and it’s still true. We’re getting closer and closer, but we’re a small team making a big game. We’ll be with you soon enough and appreciate the patience."
Silent Hill: Townfall was announced back in October 2022 alongside Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill F, the former of which released last year to critical acclaim and the latter is out for PS5 in September. A full remake of the original Silent Hill on PS1 has now also been confirmed.

So not suitable for Oled's then 🤣
We don't really know how this compares to the original 4 SH games or even to the new f game. The trailer showed nothing of substance. I'm taking a very cautious approach with this one, just as I am with f. None of these feel Silent Hill to me.
"Still alive" ummm guys the game was never not alive, just because we don't hear anything doesn't mean it's been cancelled.
Edit: So the people who are moaning that Silent Hill f is "too Japanesy" will surely buy this game because it's set in America again...
@Spedfrom all that matters to me is if it’s good or not.
Stories untold is fantastic. Definitely stayed with me for a long time.

That sounds more of a manifesto than anything else. Or pretentious guff and doesn't exactly instil hope for a SH fan like me.
If ends up looking like Silent hill f i don't mind the wait
Nice, I really liked both of their previous games. Don't expect a third person classic Silent Hill game. I'd expect more walking simulator with puzzles and atmosphere and some unusual elements
@razorhanzo Yeah I don't know how I feel about that. I at least hope the puzzles are interesting riddles instead of a puzzle a 5 year old can do(Looking at you Capcom).
@Spedfrom cautious for what? Did you did the samething for sh2 remake trolling the company too?
