They should discount the PS4 too while they're at it. It would have a real shot at the best selling console of all time if Sony stopped thinking they are Nintendo for 5 minutes & drop the price.

But I thought PS players buy their games, unlike those supposed industry killing, game pass lovin, Xbox fans? Ah well...

Just let Xbox have their games already. Who cares how they acquired them, MS & Sony are just as dodgy as each other after all.

Maybe back in the glory days this was true. These days though, Playstation feels as Japanese as an apple pie hamburger. Which isn't the point, I know, it just sucks ass!

At this point I'd love to see a new player enter the console space, look over at these children fighting, tell them to shut their mouths, then demo a new game which blows all gamers minds.
Hell, let Nintendo do it, all they need is a capable console at this point.

I do believe there will be a pro model, though I don't really think it's necessary. I think we need to keep console gaming simple, 1 system to last the entire gen. Keep the fancy stuff on the PC side. Which is getting trickier, both Herman Hulst & Phil Spencer seem like PC guys than console.
Just make new games, we've got the hardware.

I want fresh new games from playstation, not more hardware. At this stage in the PS4 gen we were tearing through Bloodborne. Now we're seal clapping our way through samey sequels.
That being said, if they can shrink down the current PS5, I'm all for that.

Hogwarts is my favourite game of the gen so far, it's fantastic.

The only sure fire hits they have in the cooker is Devil May Clive 16, & maybe 7 Rebirth (if it ever comes out). They just seem lost, & have for a long time.

I've had neck issues for years, so I'm definitely intrigued by this. In fact the reason I don't play my games more often is because I can't stay comfortable for very long, or can't get that sweet spot in the first place.
I can't imagine what it turns out to be though. If you dont sit up correctly you get a small electric shock through your controller & a stern warning from Jim Ryan through the controller speaker

As for Square, maybe back in the PS1/PS2 era, but they are a shadow of what they used to be now.
Sega would be the way to go: actual good RPGs from Atlus, Like A Dragon, Sonic, Total War, etc. Not to mention the massive back catalogue & arcade titles. They would add some much needed variety to Playstation's first party.

Isn't 6 supposedly set in Vice City?
Seems pretty obvious that's what this will be.

It's funny, that if this had gone back to being an old school turn based FF, with the same budget as they have, it would've really stood out from the million other action RPG's out there. It would've drawn in the old FF fans from the ps1/ps2 era too I believe. And turn based games are successful, look at Pokemon for example.
It looks good for what it is, but it just looks like the 20 bazillion other action RPGs, though with very nice visuals.

@Jaz007 why not just go straight for a new 2nd entry then?
Also, why do we constantly need to catch up newcomers? If they're interested they should do a little research, its not that hard.

This was a punch to the gut! I was so excited to see this one, Rocksteady were a dev you could count on...
This looked like everything I hate in modern gaming. Which then got me thinking about Playstation & how they bought Bungie for this sort of rubbish, & the amount of live service games they are currently working on.....doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.

Unless you own stock in Microsoft, who gives a *****? This is a Playstation site & you are getting the game (though I doubt most here even care about it).

Rubbish. Man on man what absolute turd water this gen has been, & the PS5 kicked off with such a bang too. Now to see Rocksteady making 3rd person Destiny is a real kick to the nads.

This sounds pretty sweet to me😁 I was hoping for some VR with TM, it would could be mind blowing.
Controlling your character & vehicle is intriguing....is it like Starhawk/GTA, or will it be used for story aspects/upgrades, like Destiny? 🤔 or both? Or something else entirely?

You guys are way too concerned with what Xbox get up to. If Xbox shut down tomorrow I'm sure the Tumbleweeds would be flowing down the streets, then gaming would continue as usual.

Ah that's a ahame. I miss the bombastic E3 weekend, it was just so much fun watching with friends, seeing all the announcements & surprises, reactions from the crowd, etc.
Geoff Keighley's borefest just isn't the same. And I'm not the biggest fan of the state of play/Nintendo direct, where the host sounds like a kindergarten teacher addressing the class.
Ah well, it was fun while it lasted.

I'm all over this, will be getting it sometime this week. The world needs more 3D platformers!

Yes, for the love of god. They haven't had an original idea since the PS3 days, essentially taking away one of playstation's biggest strengths in the process: fresh & exciting new IP's every gen. We need a shake up, it's really boring at the moment.

Hopefully after this & Spiderman 2, Playstation can pull their finger out & create some fresh new experiences again like they used to. Ragnarok was a solid 7-8/10 game. The way people crap on about the story & acting more than anything makes me think it should've been a Telltale or Quantic Dream title! Haha imagine that😅
