Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 511

Ichiban

I've spent the last few weeks playing through the Yakuza/Like A Dragon games I hadn't played leading up to Infinite Wealth. I finished 6 last night, which was fantastic, one of the best in the series.
Next up is The Man Who Erased His Name, which currently on sale, so that timed out perfectly! Very keen to start it this weekend

Re: Just One Day Later, Microsoft Has 'No Plans to Bring Game Pass' to PS5, PS4

Ichiban

@Casco you're not wrong. We're already seeing the results of a struggling Xbox: that being the most uncreative, boring era of Playstation yet. No fight in em at all, just the bare minimum, if that. Sony needs MS (or some kind of actual competition) to light a fire under Herman Hulst's ass already!
As more the article itself, I believe there's a difference in wanting something to become a reality, & actually having a plan in motion. But, once again it's like shooting fish in a barrel here.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Assassin's Creed Mirage?

Ichiban

I'd give it a 6.
It's decent, but flawed, & pretty clunky at times (that combat, oh boy!), & I'm quite sure the AI in the old PS2 MGS games was better than what's here!
The world is fun to traverse & the soundtrack can be incredible at times, & I'm enjoying my time for the most part. But I see myself forgetting it the second the credits begin to roll.

Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Developer Teases Future Ghostface, Jigsaw DLC Villainy

Ichiban

I think a Big Trouble In Little China DLC pack would be perfect for an MK game. (Unlike the randoms they just keep throwing in there). Jack Burton, Wang , Lo Pan, that guy who was clearly the inspiration for the original Raiden, that big monster thing that hides in Jack's truck at the end. They could get the original voice cast, man it would fit the MK universe like a glove!

Re: Another Nail in E3's Coffin as Events Collaboration Falls Through

Ichiban

I miss the glory days of e3. It was great, 3 days of absolute hype, everyone bringing their best to the show, the audience hype, dev interviews, gameplay demostrations with devs, etc I loved it!
I don't think what we have today matches it. The very occasional state of play, dull live shows, Geoff Keighley's head everywhere. Its like a long fart streching out for an entire year.

Re: Lara Croft, Nicki Minaj Coming to Call of Duty

Ichiban

There's no greater camouflage than neon pink hair, she'll be a tough one to spot in battle🤔
They might as well add Ronald McDonald, Spongebob, Fonzi etc while they're at it. As AgentMantis said, the shark has been cleared😅

Re: Latest Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PS5 Patch Is a Small One, More Updates Planned

Ichiban

Its rough this one, even after the patch. I've owned the game for 9 days & had 9 crashes, 5 of which when just trying to boot the game. The broken AI, audio sync issues, and just now encountered a bug where my button inputs stopped working. The ball droid things are spinning around in circles like crazy (which is pretty funny actually). I defeated the so called legendary Rancor by standing on a slightly higher ledge, it just stood there & had no idea what to do, allowing me to wail on it until defeated. Yeah, its rough lol

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 485

Ichiban

Maybe some Jedi Survivor. Though yesterday it crashed on me 5 times, which has kinda put me off it a bit. Fun game when it works lol
I picked up Soul Hackers 2 & the latest Star Ocean game cheap today, so maybe either of those if the force isn't strong enough to run Jedi without crashing.
Have a nice weekend you lovely people!

Re: The Last of Us Composer Gustavo Santaolalla May Have Teased a New Version of Part 2

Ichiban

@HonestHick You seem like a really nice person, I appreciate your kindness.
But I have to ask, why did we see so many fresh ideas from PS up until this gen? Games were expensive to create last gen too (TLOU 2 as an example), but we still got Ghost Of Tsushima, Horizon, The Last Guardian, etc (2 of 3 which were highly successful). The fresh experiences we came to PS for in the first place.
But honestly, it's irrelevant. We should not give a crap about the costs of game development, that's a Sony problem. They're the ones who should be creating such experiences which make us what to part with our money in the first place.

Re: The Last of Us Composer Gustavo Santaolalla May Have Teased a New Version of Part 2

Ichiban

@HonestHick I don't agree with that. Sure, they are expensive to make, but Sony's first party titles generally sell very very well, into the high millions, and are highly profitable. These titles are why Playstation has the strong reputation they have, lessen that & eventually you strip its entire identity. (Which to be fair, they are doing a good job of themselves anyway).

Re: Japanese Final Fantasy 16 Sales Plummet by 90% in Second Week

Ichiban

@ApostateMage I agree about the characters, though I did like Clive's uncle, he was a hoot.
You're right about it not feeling like a grand adventure, jumping from spot to spot kinda felt like an old PSP game, like Peace Walker or old Monster Hunter. It definitely takes away that feeling of a great journey.
