A reasonable amount of sales for an average game imo
Not a fan of the story or characters though, a snoozefest headlined by a cast of wood planks.

I bought it digitally myself. Mostly enjoying it, kinda like Guy Ritchie's Final Fantasy. Though it hasn't grabbed me completely & I can't explain why that is. Ah well, I'm sure its more a me thing. Very nice music too.

I will be playing it by the end of today hopefully. I have it downloaded & ready to go, just have to finish off the last few stages of Hi-Fi Rush.

Collector's editions are rubbish these days. No disc, a statue you could get from any comic/pop culture store, & just awful, bland box art.
Just buy the game, don't waste your money on this crap.

If I remember correctly, last year The Last Of Us Part 1 was announced at a Keighleyfest not long after Sony held a State Of Play. So there might actually be some truth to this...

A show where three quarters of the announcements aren't remakes or remasters of games that came out last week is a win in my book!
Was hoping to see the next Like A Dragon game make an appearance, maybe at Keighleyfest or the Xbox show....

They're probably reworking it into another Horizon themed game.

As good as FF16 looks graphically (apart from the full screen vomit of particle effects whenever in combat!) it still looks like a typical action RPG, albeit with tacky mini games added. Then again it's quite easy to fool gamers with shiny flash haha

As far as Konami goes, a new 2D pixel Castlevania would be awesome. The same exact graphic style as SOTN, but a new entry. Man that would be fantastic.
Knowing my luck, it'll be an awful looking SOTN remake with flash style graphics, or that hideous 2.5D vomit style used in Bloodstained haha

@get2sammyb I've always found it funny how every COD starts off fairly grounded at release, but by the end of it's cycle you've got miltary soldiers battling Bruce Willis, Robocop & The Wiggles

Collecting physical games in the modern day seems pointless to me. They're pretty much just a code on a disc these days.
Also, if you're planning on trading it in 2 weeks or so after launch, why not just rent it?

The typical excellence from this studio, plus it has to be said, these guys are the best storytellers in the industry.

My opinion, but I think most modern collectors editions are trash. Full of of tacky whack, & don't hold their value at all.
If I were going to spend a huge amount on something gaming, I'd be after say a complete copy of Symphony Of The Night, or a Panasonic Q (just off top of my head).

Damn.....I know I've been super negative on this game, but this looks quite slick. Its nice to see the PS5 finally breaking a sweat!
It's so over the top, like Michael Bay's Final Fantasy, but in the best possible way. That soundtrack is great too. The only problem, for me anyway, is that during combat there's is so much ***** all over the screen, I could barely keep up with it lol
Oh and definitely would choose Japanese voice-overs, providing that's an option.
But yeah, this looks pretty cool.

Was not impressed by the gameplay demonstration. Looks like every flashy, over the top action game masquerading as RPG out there already. Lacking pretty much all of the old FF charm. Oh but hey there's a few chocobos slapped in there so its definitely Final Fantasy. This will be a 7/10 at best. God Square Enix sucks these days

I'm playing some old favourites on my Gamecube, Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour (hard game!), Luigi's Mansion, & Bust A Move All Stars.
Might have to blow my face off with some Tetris Effect at some point too, feeling the urge lol

@naruball Yeah can't argue with that. Spiderman will always be popular, & the quality of the games & movies is extremely high (can't speak for the comics). Also, they really couldn't have chosen a better character than Wolverine for the next game. Even a jaded old fart like me wants to see that!

Sony seem a few years behind the ball lately. VR, even though it seems it found it extremely small niche long ago. Doubling down on Marvel games long after peak MCU popularity (though to be fair, so is everyone else), & a list of live service games coming, at time when they're being booed off stage. I'm expecting them to annouce the NFT plans any day now lol
But hey, what do I know?

Perhaps they had to remake some of the work they've done on this remake.

I'd rather a new 3rd person Resi or Dino Crisis. Enough remakes already
