I do agree that the game shouldn’t have been up for the award.
It didn’t release this year & the devs literally bribe their audience with free in game currency to ensure wins.

Honestly the memes this has spawned are incredible. There’s one where the camera pans to Miyazaki to capture his reaction & you can see the kid 4 rows down in the centre lane joining the crew & it’s just captured with ‘invaded by dark spirit’ lmao.

Having said that, when he starts talking he goes ‘my turn...’. People must have #### themselves thinking what he might do. Bet they tighten up security from now.
I will say he did blend in expertly. Dressed smart-casual like a teen would for the event & he looked like he could’ve been an intern at FromSoft or working for Geoff.

All he’ll get is a slap on the wrist though. A lifetime ban for the venue, any future TGA’s & a fine and nothing else. Pitch invaders don’t get punished extensively so don’t see how he would- even though he should.

I went with ‘very good’ only because I fell asleep & woke up 45min in. I skipped all the fluff & got to the GOTY just in time.

I really thought GOW:R was going to sweep, but it wasn’t meant to be.
I enjoyed Elden Ring, but Ragnarok is one of those games I wish I could forget everything about & experience it all over again. It’s that special.

That middle character seems Fragile, but not that fragile.

Interesting that all the promotion has been centred around female characters. Then again a silhouette of Norman Reedus would be a dead giveaway.

The problem with Days Gone was management though. It started of as a PS3 game & then when delayed multiple times on PS4, still released in a buggy state to reviewers & didn’t review anywhere as needed.
At some point you just have to cut loose & go in a different direction.

People still go on about how Evolution/DriveClub studio shouldn’t have been closed, but they royally screwed up there at launch. Actions have consequences.

I enjoyed Days Gone. Got the platinum, but let’s be honest that game was in development for like 7/8 years. In that timespan Naughty Dog put out Uncharted 1-3 & TLOU to critical & commercial acclaim & startedpre-production on Uncharted 4 I imagine.

TGA: Battle of the Bots.

My favourite Final Fantasy game of all time. Won’t be there at launch as it’ll be under the Xmas tree, but I’m glad more people will get to enjoy it.

I still have the UMD & this game is the sole reason I own 2 PSP’s😅

Midnight Suns performance is actually insane. 26th would suggest well under 1k retail copies sold at launch.
Same with NFS the one time EA push the boat out a bit & it’s a disaster.

Happy for Callisto. The game seems fun enough & looks great. Worried about the studio at first, but it seemed to have launched pretty strong on steam & PS so they should be good.

@KidBoruto You need to get to the Cyber Sleuth games asap. They’re incredible- the best monster raising game since Pokemon G/S/C imo. I platinumed both after about 200 hours each. Well worth the money.

I love that you can capture any Digimon & turn it into anything you want- with enough de & digivolutions (which is recommended & encouraged). Imagine capturing a Rattata & it becoming a Mewtwo with moves from previous evolutions.

I did not enjoy Next Order. Traded it in after a couple of weeks but some of my friends swear by it. Just too much grinding for me.

I was planning on buying it at some point, but the review embargo date being pretty much day & date set of the red flags.

I’m not sure when I’ll get to it as the next few months are just filled with games.

I did enjoy it, but they got the balance all wrong between visual novel & SRPG.
It also has the tropes from visual novels, that I won’t spoil in an attempt to extend playability with multiple endings.

Glad it did reasonably well, but it’s time for more Story games.

They also said that Troy & Ashley will play some characters that aren’t ‘one offs’. So it’ll be interesting where that goes.

I’m really interested where they go with Bill. Nick Offerman is awesome & you know never really knows what happened to the character once Joel & Ellie leave.
Would love a prequel & epilogue episode once they get to that part of the game.

Absolutely perfect so far. I stayed up playing it till 6am the last couple of days, as I just kept thinking 'ok ill clear one more area or I'll just finish this side quest. I can't think of the last time I did that.

Best of all there is so little bloat. Everything feels like it matters- feels big. The side quest are so incredibly well done.

Stray sure is a choice.

GOW:R & EldenRing are going to clean up.
No idea which will come out on top for goty though.

Off topic but I own the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Legacy collection (steel book). Its definitely the most valuable PS4 game (s), which is so weird as the PS4 ain’t that old. Must have been a limited print.

Some sites are weighted more heavily than others, which counters the click bait score a smaller site might give.

PS5: 8 reviews, 86 MC
XSX: 6 reviews, 88 MC
NS: 10 reviews, 79 MC
PC: 88 reviews, 82 MC

Unless there are performance issues a higher number of reviews will be a greater indicator of the general consensus. A handful of reviews will usually result in a much higher or lower score.

Is this the first time in a long time that a mainline FF game is releasing without any major delays or development issues? It was announced late 2020 & we’ll be playing it 7-8 months from now.

I know it’s just a little clip from an early build, but if this is Overdose I can probably do without it. Just bring on Death Stranding 2.

OT. It makes little sense for Kojima to sell up. He can get a contract for a game from just about anybody.
Also the entire studio depends on him so if he were to leave or worse... it would leave it valueless.

When was FILA last relevant 2011?

People need to realise that this isn’t that far off from the launch price of OG PSVR.
It launched at $400 not including the PS camera & the move controllers. Both the camera & the controllers saw massive spikes in price because of it. Most people that just got the base unit paid equal to or more for the complete package.

I paid like £40 a pop for both moves & that was second hand from CEX.

Having said that I’ll be waiting a year or so for bundles to roll out. There were some insane deals once the launch period was over with the OG PSVR.

Honestly I don’t think every game will have a free upgrade. I’d be fine with paying a small upgrade free (£5).

@AndyKazama This is where I’m at. Don’t regret my day 1 OG PSVR purchase, but there were some ridiculous bundles within a year or so.
I will buy this probably around Black Friday 2024.

It’s all about the finances. FF7: R is a £100Million+ game. If Sony gave them 10mill for exclusivity that would pay for the gamepass fee many times over.

That certainly deserves a remake makeover. I wouldn’t think this project comes out before 2026 anyways so why not.

@Ravix You don’t have to worry about that in that case.

Nioh spans several regions but it’s level based- not open world. That doesn’t take away from the story though as it ties the levels together with cutscenes.
Sure you will lose progress if you can’t complete a level but there’re items that will let you escape a level with your ‘souls’ intact. Also there are shrines that fully heal you & replenish your resources, usually near to a boss (if you opened the short cut).

Also it’s very much loot & level based. So you’ll constantly be swapping out weapons. However you can change the look of any armour equipment at anytime you want so you can keep to a particular look i.e. change a helmet into a headband but keep the stats.

Nioh 2 is standalone. The original Nioh had a protagonist whereas the sequel has a character creater.

They are excellent games & in my book from a gameplay perspective they top FromSoftware’s best outings.

If you like the Batman universe you will probably enjoy this. Personally I’m indifferent, but after watching about 90mins of gameplay I can tell it’s not for me. Nowhere near the Arkham games (including origins).

@Ralizah That’s the thing that doesn’t make sense to me.
The story is layered out for them & they’re going to get the visuals right. Even if the over the shoulder gameplay is average the game shouldn’t be anything less than good. Having the game exist is a whole lot better than not- the original is still playable.
