Re: Reaction: Publishers Are Getting Worse at Nintendo Direct-Style Livestreams

Fight_Teza_Fight

Don’t care for Marvel too much so missed that. Did tune into Ubi Forward, which was an absolute waste of time. The only thing I cared about was AC Mirage which was 3mins of cinematics.

Also couldn’t help but be distracted by how the presenters were skewed...given the recent allegations.

I do think the ‘direct-style’ is the way to go on. Initial excitement aside it never made much sense to me for all the publishers to battle it out & share the limelight during E3 week. Coming out most people only ever discussed a handful of games and everything else got buried for the rest of the year.

Re: Assassin's Creed Mirage May Be Rated Adults Only Due to Real Gambling

Fight_Teza_Fight

Ehmm ‘Mirage is set in Baghdad, so it wouldn’t be unusual for there to be some kind of in-universe minigames, potentially inspired by historical wagers or gambling games.’

I don’t think the place or time matters in any way in this case.
AC Syndicate was set in the late 18hundreds. Pretty sure they had some historical wagers & gambling back then.

Anyways no chance this remains. No platform holder apart from steam allows AO games. Also given they allowed for pre-orders to go live they must be confident the game will come to market so they just edit or remove whatever got flagged by the ESRB.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 443

Just got the platinum in DBZ Kakarot. Would’ve got it last night night if it wasn’t for one trophy that was glitched as I started the game without the latest update. Deleted the game, downloaded the update started it again & got the trophy within 10mins. Probably wasted a good 5hours on that😔.

I’m also playing Afterparty which is really fun. I’m pretty much at the end & it’s been one hell of a ride.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Make of Microsoft and Sony's Call of Duty Quarrel?

Fight_Teza_Fight

Phil should’ve come out right away & said that COD would leave PS eventually.
Instead he said it would remain on PS being intentionally obscure due to the legal reasons & having to portray ‘good-guy Phil’.

MS own Activision-Blizzard now. They paid a lot of money for them. They have no obligation to PS or anyone. Just be upfront.

Jim might not have been the most professional with his statement but else can PS do when team Xbox is saying contradictory things.
Maybe he should’ve gotten one of them leakers to spill the story instead 🤷‍♂️.

Personally speaking I haven’t played a COD since Infinite Warfare so this doesn’t affect me much, but I will miss Diablo.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give The Last of Us: Part I?

Fight_Teza_Fight

Price shouldn’t enter the equation/final review score.

What purpose does a review for a single player game have for someone that buys the game for £15 have in like a year- yet the score will always be there.

Sure you can add a disclaimer saying ‘wait for a sale’.

It’s another thing single player games have going against them nowadays. A recent example is Temtem, little reviews because it hasn’t established a player base yet as it’s an MMO.
Could get a 9/10 for the 1st month because it’s new but within weeks it keep could have no one playing yet the score remains.

Value proposition is important but imo a reviewer should worry about the content of the game.

Does a game launching on PS+/Gamepass automatically become better, because someone didn’t have to ‘pay’ for it vs someone that went & bought it?

Re: Football Manager Gets a PlayStation Console Port for the First Time Ever

One of the reasons I wanted to buy a Steam Deck is to play FM.
FM was basically my ‘me time’ throughout Uni.

I’ve not dabbled in it since FM17 as my laptop can no loner handle it. I’m all about the large database & finding the next superstar even if it takes like 5mins to change the day over.

I just hope it’s not toned down & they can get the control scheme right. I don’t know how they would let you scroll through 40k players though- that UI needs to be on point.

Re: Spider-Man PC Attracts Over 60,000 Concurrent Players at Launch

Fight_Teza_Fight

So after Steams cut that’ll be £2.1 million at launch. However with the cost of the port I’d imagine their launch day profits are probably somewhere between £1.5-£1.8million.

It might be ‘free’ money but if this makes PC gamers think: ‘I’ll wait for the PC release for PS games’ this really is a short term gain considering Spider-Man is easily a £100million game.

Re: Uh Oh! Square Enix Demands Removal of Leaked Tomb Raider Script from Patreon

Fight_Teza_Fight

@Milktastrophe The script was floating around between the industry for a while apparently. Also according to them they only revealed a fraction of the actual script that they had available. They did add a comedic twist to the ‘read’ which may/may not allow it to be fair use.

Having said that Shadow of the Tomb Raider was leaked because someone was working on it on public transport with their laptop.
What does that fall under?

Re: Uh Oh! Square Enix Demands Removal of Leaked Tomb Raider Script from Patreon

@Kidfried How’s it any different than Jason Schreier & co breaking stories? These people are given the information by people that have access to it, they don’t go out & steal it. If they feel like it’s worth reporting they will.

SE & Crystal working on Tomb Raider after the sale of developer & IP is worth reporting don’t you think?

———————————————————— I downloaded the episode on Monday so I’m glad I got to listen to the ‘uncut’ version. It was hilarious, especially with Chris doing the worst Brit I have ever heard during the ‘read’. The follow up on YouTube about the DMCA might be even more hilarious & would surely be more damaging to all parties involved then just letting it be.
