Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections Trademark

Is it finally time for a new Ultimate Ninja Storm game? As spotted by Gematsu, publisher Bandai Namco has registered a trademark for something called 'Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections' in Europe, naturally leading fans to wonder whether CyberConnect2's popular Naruto fighting game series is about to be continued.

The last game in the franchise was 2016's Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 on PS4, which was (and still is) a fantastic anime-based brawler. Given that was a whole six years ago, you've got to wonder if the Japanese developer has been cooking up another instalment.

'Connections' is a weird subtitle though, isn't it? It's hard to say what another Ultimate Ninja Storm game could be based around, given that Storm 4 dealt with the closing act of Naruto Shippuden. Maybe it's all about Boruto? We'll have to wait and see β€” this could be some kind of mobile spinoff for all we know.
