@get2sammyb It's 2 minutes to midnight Sammy. Yes, if they built it with ps5 hardware specific in mind, they'd be able to push it as you say, but I don't think that can be done so last minute. If they did that now it would just look like a PS4 game that for some reason is a PS5 exclusive.
It's honestly a case by case scenario, I don't think a blanket "all games should have it" makes any sense. In the end, it should be up to the developer. If a game's difficulty/balancing is part of their creative vision, then they shouldn't feel forced to add easy modes just because some people want it.
@nessisonett While I'm on your side buddy, the fact that DT was a sexual predator was out there during the campaign (grab em by the **** etc). The ugly truth is, unfortunately, that his voters don't care about that in the slightest. They seem to support him no matter what.
Same as my username here. Clayman is the title of my favourite album, but it felt a tad too simple for a gamer tag, plus a bit more likely to run into others already having it. I was reading the Thomas Harris trilogy at the time, where people constantly refer to Hannibal as Dr Lecter, and felt that gave it a bit more gravitas. And after all that, I also thought DrClayman sounded pretty cool. So no, I'm never changing that.
@ShogunRok You're right about the fact that if someone goes off on their own there's not much to do to stop them. A couple of things are up to them though as well.
For example, if one of those four writers didn't want to do the excessive hours, but the other three were willing, there's not much of a chance he'd just abandon them and go home. Even though he'd have every right to, he'd still feel like he's not pulling his weight, even if the other three were all fine with it.
I appreciate the fact, if true, that it was one instance of it, but even when that happens, they should still play it on the dl. Mentioning a fact like that off handedly, with no reservations, in an article that's supposed to profile your company is irresponsible at the very least. Did anyone really need to know about that? Especially in Rockstar's case, which hasn't had the best history with working conditions.
And as someone else said in the comments, even Houser's second statement equates hard work with insane hours, which is insulting to the hundreds of people that I'm sure work very hard, and go home when they're supposed to.
Yes, no one had a gun to their head, but there's way subtler ways to force someone to do long hours, and making them feel guilty if they don't. That's some of the reasons why management should step in and send people home if things are getting out of hand, it's not always about the person doing the overtime. In a case like the above, where it was an isolated incident by senior management only, they shouldn't have even mentioned it.
@Neolit In that case you should know better. I've done my share of long hour weeks, in jobs that I fully well enjoyed, but there's no job in the world that's worth not seeing your family for 5 days a week.
Absolute scumbags if they allowed that to happen. I get the odd overtime day to finish something, but 100 hour weeks should be outright illegal. And if there's truly no other way to make a game like this, then don't make it. Make something you can make under normal working hours. It's a freaking video game in the end, not the cure for cancer.
I've never understood why people listen to Tidux. I've seen he's name mentioned way more times about getting something wrong than the other way around.
Just grabbed it in the recent discounts and really enjoying it. Tried the beta, and found it fun, but didn't think it was worth the full price imo. For 30 quid it's a banger though, i think they should keep it at that price point.
That sucks a little bit. Don't mind the lack of multiplayer that much, but leaving messages and seeing people's dying animations has been a lot of fun in previous titles.
I mean, I didn't mind Rage, wouldn't mind another one BUT... If id software is working on a sequel to Rage instead of a sequel to Doom, they have truly and utterly lost their bloody minds ๐๐๐
@get2sammyb That sounds good. The series has piqued my interest in the past, but most people I've met that had played them tended to emphasise on the negatives. And yeah, I wouldn't expect them to stand up to modern standards like Uncharted or God of War, but if you're comparing them to the Metal Gears of the time, that's a good enough recommendation for me. Might actually give them a bash when they're out.
I think I'm missing the point of why this is a must play. Between cumbersome controls, dated open world, bad voice acting and bad writing, what is its redeeming quality? Is the story that good that it eclipses all other shortcomings? Or is it a must play just as an educational piece of history?
Hey @get2sammyb great review. One question, does the game have loads of extras like the previous entries after you finish it? As in, behind the scenes videos, artwork and assets galleries etc. Would be good to know!
Elder Scrolls 6 is almost guaranteed to be revealed, wouldn't be surprised if it released this fall. They've always been about 5 years between entries, and will be 7 years since Skyrim by then. Surely we're long overdue one.
Some toughies on this one. Love Kain, but can't not vote for Bayo. Which is also weird seeing her here, I know it started as multiplatform, but I immediately associate Bayonetta as a Nintendo property.
@BranJ0 @kyleforrester87 yeah, can't argue with that, it could have crashed and burnt without anyone noticing, but there is at least some attention thrown its way. It's as you say, no matter what the chat around it is, I feel it deserves more. I just hope more people will play it over the next few years through word of mouth, sales etc.
@kyleforrester87 Dunno man, I'm doing the rounds from various press outlets and their end of year lists and it's being significantly overshadowed by games such as Zelda and Horizon. Fantastic games in their own right, but I think Nier is in a whole other league in the way it revolutionises storytelling and combines gameplay in video games while not letting down of any other aspect such as visuals, music etc
To each their own of course, but I feel a lot of people are missing out on something that's way more important than they realise.
Man, I remember really enjoying Catherine until I hit a proper wall 3 or 4 hours in and could not get past a puzzle for the life of me. It really put me off the game cause I was really enjoying the plot, but not the fact I'd have to start over if I wanted to just lower the difficulty, so I never went back. I'd like to give it another shot now, but it's still left a bitter taste in my mouth.
They've also still not released an HDR update for the PS4 Pro, even though they said it would arrive with the expansion. Still no update on when we'll get it, even though it seems it works great on Xbox platforms.
I can totally see that, I've noticed physical prices going up lately, so the price difference becomes a smaller factor than it used to be. Add to that the convenience of not having to swap discs when jumping between games, I've moved almost completely digital in the past couple of years.
I went digital this time as well, so did a few of my friends. For a game that I was going on and off for three years (D1), I really regretted not spending the extra tenner at launch to go digital. I'm fine with physical games if it's one and done kind of deal, but games that I keep going back to like Destiny, Overwatch, Titanfall, I'll only go digital from now on.
There is no chance in hell this is not coming to PS4. Absolutely zero chance. A game this high profile, that has a console version in development, would never be exclusive to the console with the significantly least amount of users. It's just math, the money that Microsoft would have to pay to cover the potential earnings they would get from the PS4 userbase, would be close to, or even more than what they would earn from sales. The game preview thing, timed exclusivity, sure. But I'd bet everything I've got that this will make its way to the PS4 when it is completed. It's too big not to.
I honestly don't get the outrage. Every subscription service increases their price at some point, and ps plus has been the same since what, 2010? It's just inflation.

What's the need for cross-gen release anyway? Assuming all the chat about PS5 being back compatted with PS4, you'll be able to play it on PS5 anyway.

Re: Guide: Best Assassin's Creed Games Ranked
I'm still early in on Odyssey, but here's my list as it stands so far. The ones I've played anyway:
01. Black Flag
02. Syndicate
03. Origins
04. Odyssey
05. AC3
06. AC2
07. Brotherhood
08. Unity
09. AC1
10. Revelations
Odyssey could go one up or one down, not 100% sure on a final verdict.
