@Shigurui In this thread? No you haven't. That's the thing, it's not only phones. You're signed up to Push Square, you must have an email that is associated with a company that collects information.
The only way you'd be 100% secure is if you lived in a cabin in the woods with no access to the Internet.
@Paranoimia After the Facebook scandal, privacy is being taken much more seriously. Nothing is used unless you give permission. I don't see it being any different with PlayStation. Besides headphones/ earphones have built-in microphones, the moment you plug one on Dualshock 4, shouldn't that have the same level of concern?
People have multiple devices collecting their info and now they're concerned with privacy lol.
@Shigurui I honestly find that extremely hard to believe. You don't have a modern TV or a smartphone/ tablet? A laptop or any Android integrated device?
PlayStation opted for efficiency and changing game design so developers don't have to work harder on optimization, duplication or make areas to help load the game. Everyone seems to be sleeping on this and instead are focusing on a metric that doesn't even define performance.
Bigger and better worlds, easier time developing, instantaneous asset streaming— does that not mean anything?
b-BuT I heard from Jeff Rickel who worked directly with Sony and whose dad also works directly with Sony that PS5 can't maintain its clocks and it's extremely hard to develop in. He wouldn't lie to us.
@GADG3Tx87 No lol. They should invest in a mini-ITX form factor. But it all depends on what their cooling system looks like. (Fingers crossed for liquid cooling/ AIO)
People are not being interested in reading a technical "long and boring wall of text" is the reason we have people who believe Xbox is marginally more powerful than PS5.
It still baffles me because it's an either/or:
Either you don't care, therefore you shouldn't talk about it
Or you do care, therefore you should get informed.
@Heavyarms55 You can try 360 Reality Audio for free, if you want. It works with any headset. If you want better results, you'll have to send Sony a picture of your ear (no joke on that — but only if you have one of their premium headphones).
The art you make is yours, not the content is not. The company can't claim it, because they didn't make the art and you can't publish it because the content is copyrighted.
Therefore, the best approach is to make it and not publish it. If you have a top of the line lawyer, or you can represent yourself in court (provided you have the license to do it), you'd win this case easy. It's a non-profit project and clearly for educational purposes (Fair Use).
@TheCrustyJuggler Amen to that. Regardless of approach, both consoles will fare extremely well. Developers are really impressed with the PS5, so there's no need for the fanbase to doubt what PS5 can do.
@TurboTom RDNA 2 CU is not the same as CUs in previous GPUs. They are 66% larger and PlayStation is running each CU at a whopping 2.3GHz! This is the highest there is on the market right now and let me reiterate by saying: if Sony wanted to, they could have gone higher (at the cost of a more expensive power supply and cooling solution).
There is nothing to be disappointed about if you know how it works in perspective.
@Heavyarms55 Short answer: No. Long answer: The idea of 3D audio is having sounds bounce off walls and ceilings at particular angles to give a sensation of locality and presence. With Atmos, you need a receiver to process the audio codec. Sony's 360 Reality Audio doesn't need to do that, instead it processes and angles, volume and distance, so you don't have to. PlayStation is taking the same approach by reinventing that technology and making it better.
@Hobbesyall On the presentation, Cerny says loud and clear they don't have any PS5 games to test the hardware on. How are they going to show something they don't have?
All of those are trash. They should adopt Nintendo's case and use the triangular logo they already have and stuck it in a corner. Minimalistic and nice.
@JJ2 Companies have to compete in order to survive, especially if it's the same business. What they don't do, however is go on the Internet and have a "measuring whose dong is bigger" in the comments, so I wouldn't necessarily say it's the same thing.
I started playing Monster Hunter World again because of Iceborne and because I'm trying to catch up, it gets really complicated to always be able to play especially during Christmas and New Year. So, I downloaded Remote Play for my phone, cause I was almost certain I wouldn't be home to play.
Left my PS4 on and then tested the streaming service, what a feature. The future is now thanks to Science. Quite impressed to be honest. Not perfect, but certainly good enough with lots of room for improvement.
Teraflops aren't everything in a system lol. Look at Xbox One S, it has about the same if not a bit less teraflops than the base PS4, yet it's far more efficient as a system than the base PS4 (and Pro, but I'll leave that).
It's about how well the CPU+GPU work together, The number of threads, cores, cache and much more.
They need to lose the cameras and make a controller with the Sixaxis technology. PSVR should be plug and play, that alone will fix a lot.
Next! Revise the hardware and for a better rendering of the world environment. I feel like VR games look the way they do, because of the hardware limitations.
@nessisonett there is not much diversity in the gaming industry anymore. When people try to innovate you get those who call it a walking simulator, despite there being more to it.
The game industry doesn't take risks anymore, they stand by what's trending or selling the most and don't bother to create something that wows. Hopefully it changes, but 8 don't see it happening.
If they're going to make a sequel, it needs to be dead-on connected to Syphon Filter. Not partially, like Days Gone, fully connected. I want a big logo saying "Syphon Filter is here".
Or alternatively, the sequel is not a sequel. Instead, it focuses how the Government lost control of the Syphon Filter virus, which led to Days Gone.
@Vriess That makes more sense. Sometimes, you can't afford to have custom SSDs on your system. They can have their own SSD and still give options for external.... HANG ON, would Sony even allow their console to be modular to that level, though? As in, letting people open up their system to replace an SSD that is connected with a M.2 connector?
If so, it would be a very weird looking SSD. From what I know, SSDs need a SATA data and a SATA power. If they're going with a traditional design that is and by default it would make this not a cartridge.
Also, you guys do realize that if this is a cartridge, it'll be proprietary anyway, right?
This is why I don't want Death Stranding to be nominated or win Game of the Year at Game Awards, specifically.
Of course, in its own merit, the game may very well be GotY material, but under the "relationship" Geoff had with Kojima, it would be safer if it didn't get nominated at all. BAFTA is giving Kojima an award for Game Innovation at BAFTA Game Awards, if Geoff decides to compete with them, he may give it to Kojima.
@Arugula You don't think that argument is a bit tiring? If that was to take into consideration, the Xbox One S would have sold around 200M units because it's the cheapeat 4K Dolby Atmos Dolby Vision HDR10+ Blu-ray player in the market right now. They would use it in cinemas, educational establishments, hell even home theatres made great use of it.

@Shigurui Modern TVs have built-in microphones on their remotes. Then, how are you responding to this then?
Re: The Microphone in PS5's DualSense Controller Will Identify Users and Eliminate Crosstalk
@Paranoimia I assure you the microphone won't work if the controller is off.
