Days Gone may not have been a huge hit with critics but the PlayStation 4 exclusive has enjoyed an impressive amount of success with the wider market -- and that's what counts when it comes to pitching sequels. Speaking to GamesRadar after Days Gone won PlayStation 4 Game of the Year at The Golden Joystick awards, technical director Christopher Reese hints that there's potential for a Days Gone 2.
Reese teases: "This is a world that we want to keep breathing more life into, and explore many, many different avenues. So who knows, we'll see!"
While it's far from confirmation, it's clear that Days Gone is the game that Sony Bend wanted to make, and the studio has an obvious passion for it. And again, given how well Days Gone has sold up to this point, Sony may already be convinced that a sequel would be good business.

I think they'd do better on a sequel. There are some good ideas in the game, but ultimately I was left really disappointed and demotivated from the game.
I'll definitely think twice before spending a full $60 now, but I'd like to see where they go next as a studio. Whether it's Days Gone 2 or something else.
After the ending you see for fully completing all the story lines I look forward to a sequel. Especially on the stronger next gen. I thoroughly enjoyed the game, room for improvements but a solid experience for me.
Days Gone is a very flawed game, no doubt. But I absolutely loved that game. The technical hiccups were by far the biggest issue I had with the game, but they were never enough for me to want to stop playing. I'd love to see a sequel that cleans up the technical issues, does a better job of pacing the story, and continuing to build the mythos of the world. I'm in.
This is one of those games i’m so glad i ignored the critics reviews and played for myself. Days Gone was not perfect at all but I had a blast playing it... something about clearing out those hoardes, it was a stress reliever. There’s a lot of room for improvement with a sequel so bring it on Sony!
I want a sequel but first I want days gone 1 on ps5 with 4k and 60 fps.
Very underrated game, I hope they learn from the first part and make a second game that pleases everyone.
I really enjoyed this game though towards the end it was a bit of an effort to finish. I think a better pace would help. Regardless I’d be keen to see what they do with the days gone universe.
More Days Gone would be great for me, flawed but fun was my experience with it and the after care with the challenges that Bend have added is excellent compared to most devs
I loved this game & never once changed it for another game to play in between & that is rare for me these days! so very happy about this.
Cool.after that give me a syphon filter for the ps5.gabe logan for president.word ☝ up son
I still need to play #1... backlog is crazy.
Enjoyed the 1st, defo up for another with a few tweaks to the gameplay but in no rush either, too many games to finish first
I really enjoyed DG and it’s 1 of only 2 games I’ve platinum’d. I’d love to see a sequel. Maybe they could set it in a city next time?
The first was solid with some good ideas that were underutilised and at times felt disjointed as the choices were removed from the story. Maybe give us some more built up areas to play around in and more interactivity with the camps and between them and have the hordes roam the environments properly and not just teleport in front of me when it suits
Going by how it ends with the True Ending i think its safe to say they always planned for another one, that ending implies a new unique enemy type for the sequel as well.
Despite what people say I really enjoyed it started slow but got really good. Enjoyed killing the hordes.
Can't wait for Days Gone 2, loved Deacon, Boozer, Sarah, hell I don't think I hated any characters, they were all done so well, even skizzo.
The world they built is so damn engaging and they have so much they can build on the previous game. Already have all the assets in UE4 to go and with the Ps5s new power there should be no problem.
They left the story open for some crazy stuff to happen next and I'm looking forward to seeing it.
@playstation1995 We need Gabe back and Lian Xing ofcourse. 🤓
Cant wait too too fry some enemies with my taser again. 😈
Will play this when it inevitably gets added to PS Now.
@Flaming_Kaiser yes we do its happening .word up son
Ill pick it up next time i see it on sale
Good. I want to keep exploring too. Loved the game.
sure hope not. let's see a syphon filter reboot instead.
Awesome, my game of the year by a far margin.
@playstation1995 🤓👍 Word up son.
I figured they were busy right now on the ps5 upgraded version. Would make for a good launch title.
I'd massively disappointed to see Days Gone get a sequel when Sony refuses to fund a sequel to The Order: 1886...
On that note, snap up RAD immediately, Sony!!!
Bend, this isn't the Syphon Filter remakes
Except, I increasingly get annoyed every time I hear new buzz regarding a (potential) Days Gone 2. Personally, a new Syphon Filter for the PS5 would fit - it certainly would do well plus improve Bend's profile and with it - welcome new Bend fans into the fold.
That said, more players and especially the DG critics will even forget about the earlier mishaps and would be sold for DG2
If they're going to make a sequel, it needs to be dead-on connected to Syphon Filter. Not partially, like Days Gone, fully connected. I want a big logo saying "Syphon Filter is here".
Or alternatively, the sequel is not a sequel. Instead, it focuses how the Government lost control of the Syphon Filter virus, which led to Days Gone.
Definitely, it's ripe for a sequel.
