@Anchorsam_9
It feels like you could've/ would've given it an 8 or even 9 if the price point wasn't as steep as it is, but aren't you getting an awful lot of content when compared to some cheaper but much more bare bones DLC experiences? I'm not someone who buys DLC or season passes, nor a CoD player, but I'm thinking if I was I'd be a very happy man.
Isn't this the new reality (that kicked in years ago but that we decided to largely ignore).
Anyone else who read "Deep down, though, we're just excited by the prospect of a more traditional......" in the DQ XI bit and had their mind wander off to a completely different game we haven't heard anything about for the longest time??
@kyleforrester87 I have always been hating on CoD, although I always liked the single player, cause that was the popular thing to do...but this year's Black Ops is either extremely good value for money, or I have been wrong all this time. I think it's both
@Tasuki Now that's what I call parenting! 15 y/o, than you're older than I imagined! Did you force him to play lots of retro games too?
My kids started gaming with the likes of the old Mario and Megaman, so modern day titles aren't all that hard for them in comparison. They've had some of their friends and nephews come over to play videogames and it's astonishing to see the difference. Not just in skill level, but the way they approach games; for them a game like Spelunky offers them a challenge, they die over and over to eventually beat the first level. Their friends and nephews, all used to tablet and mobile gaming, they try twice and get mad or even cry and stop playing all together.
And it's not just with games, my kids adopted a whole other way of handling setbacks; where other kids throw a tantrum when something doesn't go the way they want, my kids try and find a solution or just accept that sometimes there isn't one. Obviously it's not just the games but also the parents giving in to their kids when they act up, so they learn that if they scream and cry they get their way, but games really do have a positive effect on our kids. But of course, just like with everything except bacon: moderation is key!
For the people living in the UK who haven't got CoD yet, Amazon is selling copies WITH a steelbook for just 20 quid! That's amazing value for money, and this is coming from someone who isn't much of a shooter kinda guy.
At that pricepoint you have to sell what, 400 games to reach $5 million?
I'm glad it's doing so well, yet I feel $40 is really pushing it. I was hoping we'd see smaller "triple A" titles for $40 or $50 this gen, like we've been seeing on the Wii U with Captain Toad, Splatoon, Yoshi's Woolly World and Kirby's Rainbow Road, and that indies would never cost us more than $30. With indies creeping up towards the $40 region chances are we won't see those $40 games from bigger devs/ publishers too often.
But if people are paying it, more power to them! I myself am waiting for a pricedrop of at least $20, which I've gotta hand to Blow; if it would've cost $20 at launch I wouldn't have bought it, if it's marked down to $30 now I'd seriously consider it
@get2sammyb
With an actual score it's much easier for devs: they could grant someone 1000 "gamerpoints" just for seeing the end so the gameplay doesn't get interrupted by these awful messages. With the trophy system every Platinum is made up out of 4 Gold trophies, at least that's the way most of them work.
A game like Firewatch shouldn't be interrupted for every little "accomplishment" and they sure as hell shouldn't be forced to put in collectables just for Thropies' sake. On a game like CoD or PES for instance it's pretty neat to have trophies pop up, especially when you didn't knew you were about to get one, but in a game like Until Dawn, TWD, Alien Isolation or even Dark Souls it's such a buzz killer. I think devs should be able to just give people a platinum for finishing their game, whatever that means, and that all games should be able to get a Platinum trophy. They could make the distinction elsewhere with giving them less gold, silver and bronze ones, which in Firewatch's case would be a good thing.
Trophies for me are really the gaming equivalent of having all these meaningless belts in Martial Arts: they give you a white belt just for showing up and after 3 classes they offer you to try out for a yellow one, for money obviously. Why can't people just train because they like it and want to be good and do the black belt exam when their trainer thinks they're ready? The same with games: we used to make our own challenges within the games we finished and we used to have a blast. We never knew speed runs were an actual thing, yet we wanted to beat levels, courses or entire games as fast as we could if it suited the game. We explored every nook and cranny of adventure games and RPGs because we wanted it, not because of some trophies. The real trophies were getting a special weapon because you walked the extra mile or discovering hidden areas.
The real value of trophies or gamerscore is lost anyway because of YouTube; you can have 50 platinum trophies yet suck at every genre, whereas Justin Wong or Daigo U. probably have 2 or 3 Platinum trophies.
@Tasuki
How old is your kid if I might ask? I've got 3 kinds, 5,4 and 2, and the 2 oldest one, both boys, love to game. Especially the oldest one is extremely skilled already having played through SM 3D World on his own when he was just 4 and owning games like Super Meat Boy and Spelunky atm. My boys are huge superhero fans as well, so Lego Marvel, Lego Batman and this new Lego Avengers are must haves. Although we really enjoy our time with this new one, even my kids get frustrated by the bad implementation of the 2 player co-op at times. There are so many moments in these games that certain actions won't trigger or parts of the visual clues aren't visible when in 2 player mode, that they have to disconnect player 2. We've been stuck in Lego Marvel countless times and with a game as easy as Lego it's even more frustrations because it makes you feel really dumb when you have to read or watch a walk through.
It's a shame this new version hasn't improved a single bit and the same annoyances there were even back in the day, when I played the first Star Wars Lego game on my 360 with my wife, are still there. The humor is still present and as a huge Marvel fan myself I absolutely adore the fanservice, but I'm honestly glad to see my oldest one already growing out of LEGO games and I hope the middle one will soon do too, so I can introduce my little daughter to games that don't want me to break my controller in half.
@Gamer83
VI was sooo good! It went downhill from VII. FFVII on itself isn't even that bad of a game, but I dislike it for what it represents: the downfall of FF. After that they were simply too focused on having another smash hit and wanting to cater to a broad, mainstream audience. I must say in all honesty that I started to appreciate IX for what is was later and I get that people like X, but not so much that it needs 2 remasters.
FFXV looks pretty good actually, but it doesn't look like a FF game. I won't go in expecting that and I'm pretty sure the game will knock me off my feet, but Final Fantasy like we knew it while growing up is dead it seems. But I can't complain, there's a lot of great games coming out! I'm looking forward to Bravely Default, which is more FF than FF, and we're getting Dragon Quest VIII. My brother recommended Trails of Cold Steel which should be delivered to me soon and I'm also cautiously looking forward to Persona 5, although somehow I'm afraid they've gone "Final Fantasy" given their troubled development. Then there's the new Nier of course, which I hope will be my GOTY.
@ShogunRok
A shame it was all spoiled at the TGS though! But it wasn't dissapointing like it normally is and I even feel that what they've shown indeed deserves the use of the word 'rad' in this article's title
This game makes me feel like how I felt when they were showing MGSV: I couldn't believe that a game could actually incorporate all of the things they were promising, which it eventually did. This just seems too good somehow! I can not see our PS4s not buckling under the graphical pressure of the magic spells, nor can I imagine playing a game with the scale they're promising; if this indeed turns out to be the game they're promising it to be, Squeenix single handedly invented the term 'Quadruple A gaming'.
@ShogunRok I've noticed. I've spoken out about this in the past, but sometimes it feels too fanboyish which totally contrasts the overall quality of the site. Sure, it'll attract people, but will it attract the kinda gamer you want?
Nah, I wasn't being too serious, I do wonder though why "it shows promise on PS4", instead of just showing promise... It isn't an exclusive as far as I know. I know this site is dedicated to PS, but sometimes it feels like a lil kid sticking its fingers in its ears and going "nananana" when someone tells em about there being other consoles and PC gaming as well.
Tomb Raider does belong on PS though, I'll stand by that!
I think what Robert really wants to say, and correct me if I'm wrong, that The Division "feels" more like an Xbox One game. Where for instance The Witness, SFV, The Last Guardian and Tomb Raider ironically enough are clearly PlayStation games, The Division just doesn't feel right playing on our beloved PS4.
So take your Division Ubisoft and try and sell it to the 19 million tools who are clearly foolish enough to buy into cheesy marketing talk, we already have Destiny as our go to mindless shooty-bang-bang 'em up!
@Flaming_Kaiser Like I clearly said: they aren't in the position of kickstarting a new industry... That obviously means now, cause we're talking VR. That doesn't mean the 80s and 90s when Sony, and other Japanese companies, literally had money to burn....which they did. Some of those things became a succes, lots of it failed. Sony's financial position isn't in any way comparable with the position they were in back then and instead of losing lots of money on VR, they should better play it safe.
Sony has a huge advantage that they have some of the best engineers in the world working for them and that they already did a lot of R&D for them in the years they had more financial stability. It also helps they have other divisions that use the same components that are used in PS VR so they can buy/ produce in bulk.
Why would anyone want a PSplus + PS VR subscription? Do I really have to explain? For the same reason as people want a contract phone: so they can pay off the $800 phone in 24 terms so they can actually afford it. Surely you're gonna give us a lecture about how people should save money to buy it, but this isn't of Sony's concern; Sony wants to sell as many PSVRs as possible, something that will be extremely hard even at the inanely low price of $300. So if it turns out to be $500, they should try and offer a contractmodel which isn't considered an actual loan in most countries because they can combine it with a plus subscription.
@adf86 I know they won't and that's why I'm still positive PSVR will be delayed, maybe even to 2017. There's just no way they will be able to bring a VR headset at a price most people are willing to pay. They're also focussing way too much on the gaming side of things, which is a totally different discussion, but that's something Apple would immediately do better than any of the current manufacturers.
Waiting a couple of months to launch could literally save the company millions because prices of these components are going down pretty fast, because although the PS4 is doing just fine, Sony isn't in a position to jumpstart an entirely new industry.
This is a bit out there perhaps, but I don't rule our that they're waiting for Nintendo to make a move and vice versa. We know by now Nintendo can always do some surprising things and Sony probably already knows what it is they're going to release. 2 big pieces of gaming related hardware a year is probably too much for most households, so it could be that Sony wants to be sure their price and launchdate is right. And then there's always the possibility Nintendo themselves are coming with some (partly) VR or AR contraption at a low price, which could directly compete with PSVR.
With that Fox engine up and running it would be silly to stop; they can easily bring a 4 million selling MGS game every 2 years till the end of this gen. And without Kojima, an artist, having a say about their spendings, Konami 's entertainment division could be doing really well. It's a shame to say it, but having a developer as the Vice President, especially such a visionary, isn't good for the financial health of companies. You can compare it with supporters or ex- players running a smaller football club, it always goes wrong in the end: they want to become league champions so bad that they are willing to take extreme risks, which hardly ever pay off.
We saw the same with Capcom actually and now it's ran by businessmen instead of artists, creators, they're doing much better financially.
@adf86
You're kidding right? Occulus revealing its price has been headlining even the mainstream media for a couple of days. They know what they're up against, now it's their move.
Sony has a financial division that could set up a subscription model where even an entire PS4 + Plus + PS VR bundle could be offered for a fixed monthly price.
Ive noticed the people at PushSquare like DualShockers too! That Giuseppe can be a bit of a #%^*, but he is bringing the news faster than his shadow.... Okay, that didn't make sense..
I wonder why Sony is so quiet about PS VR when it's supposed to ship within 5 months.
All the talk about VR failing if it's not affordable might be right, that's why I don't understand why there isn't a subscription model: PS VR and Plus with a 2 year contract for $20 a month. I know Apple would sell it like that, just like they do with their phones.
@Matroska I imagine the first years of VR gaming to be filled with games like these; they aren't too taxing, there isn't any action that'll make you sick and you'll enjoy the scenery so much more.
For me SFV is also the reason I'm not to keen on buying anything else. I'm just finishing up on Xenoblade where I've spend way too much time on and the moment SFV hits I'm gonna be all over that. The first few weeks when a fighting games gets released I'm busy learning all the ins and outs which is really time consuming and because of my age it just takes so much longer to get at a respectable level. I'm just not as quick as I used to be, not have the time I had, so I'm leaning on my experience so to speak; where the young guns usually throw the few combos they know out real fast, they tend to spam it too often and with my experience I can punish that... But I just can't go head to head with them like I used to. From what I've played in the beta I really liked SFV, but because of the more offensive and aggresive playing style it caters too I'm already 1-0 down before the match has even started it feels. But I'm sure most of us feel like this, whenever there's a new fighting game out people always want to go back to the older version
@Matroska
Of course I remember Myst, every gamer from our generation does! But where in Myst I vividly remember solving puzzles towards a goal, here I get this feeling of impending doom. It's a bit hard to explain, but I had the same when watching footage of 'Firewatch'; although some pretty normal actions were shown, not to say boring, I felt really uncomfortable as if bad stuff was just about to happen.
The Witness gives me the sort of vibe that you're not solving puzzles to save yourself or others, but that in the end it won't matter at all because the island won't make you leave (muhahaha).
I know I'll have to find out myself, but I'm in this tough spot where I know if I spend $40 now I won't be able to play it because of the games I'm currently involved with, but if I don't I'll most certainly never get the chance to squeeze it in later this year and it seems like the sort of experience you wouldn't wanna miss. And I'm also afraid that it'll get PS VR support after I played it, which would be such a shame cause this game has VR written all over it.
I'm sorry if this is discussed, I don't wanna read the review because of possible spoilers, but does The Witness indeed feel like "Lost: the game" while playing? Everything about the trailers and screenshots give me the sense that they took Lost's island as a premise and started working from there.
If this game doesn't get an iOS F2P release, where you can buy hints and clues which will ultimately destroy the very essence of the game, what will? They will make more money than 10 Braids combined!
@Neolit
I bet you he isn't even wearing any clothes at all; he just convinces us he is.
Edit: I can't believe this! On a totally unrelated search on Google for Marble Madness, one of my favorite games when I was young, I found out Mark Cerny is the creator of that game! Unbelievable! He was there when the industry was molded and shaped and he's still there doing stuff pretty much no one is capable of. He is called the Renaissance man of gaming, the Da Vinci of the industry and I think there's no better way to describe this man. I'd pay serious money to have dinner with him or something, just listening to his stories.
@Churchy Hear, hear! I'm glad that with Kojima not shaving it's finally scientifically proven! I'm sure Cerny would have a beard too if he could grow one.
I went to high school with this nerdy bloke who painted these warhammer figures. My mom visited his mom once and I tagged along, because I was curious to see what these things really like. He showed me his room and he had all these beautifully handpainted figures on a huge table where he recreated a fort, rocks and a lake. I'll never forget what he said when I looked at it and chuckled, he said: "I know you'll make fun of me in class bout this, but deep inside you wish you were more like me".
He's one of my best friends now...still a nerd though!
Seriously though, this is just a load of bull! Instead of delaying it they could release it and patch the network functions in later; if you're bold enough to ask patience from your backers for a delay yet again, then you could also ask for their forgiveness and promise you patch it in later so everyone can get to play the part they actually shelled out money for!
I knew Germany had become a bigger market for console gaming than the UK, but what I didn't know is how relatively little consoles are being sold in France.
"It's also possible that we may win the lottery, buy a desert island, and live out the rest of our days in solitude with the band members of B*Witched, but that ain't going to happen. C'est la vie."
That trailer :') The story is all over the place! I remember my brother playing the Japanese version furiously for quite some time so I'm really curious, he loved the heck out of that game and he wants to play the localized version too. The petition for this localization is actually the only petition I remember signing ever because he kept on bugging me about it. I still get mails from Francesco Haseo- San every now and then
@get2sammyb I've got a theory about PSnow which I hope you can touch upon if you ever get to write your article, which also concerns backwards compatibility:
I feel Sony should give people unlimited acces to every game that is featured in PSnow which they already own. This can easily be done for both digital as physical ownership, but digital is the bare minimum ofcourse. This will not only create PlayStation's own (virtual) backwards compatibility program with easily as many titles available as on MS's service, but this will give people the chance to try it out.
PSnow could be such an important part of Sony's feature, but in line with lots of Sony services they first heavily invest in it to just lose interest half way through. With the current subscription fee or prices for rentals you simply won't get a lot of people who are willing to try, but if you let people experience it first by giving them virtual BC (it isn't literally BC, still you don't charge for what people own), I'm positive they'll want to try more games down the line. This might not even lead to more subscriptions, and it don't have to, but it could make people buy old games digitally like we see now on the One or make people rent games.
Sony has got to let go of the principal that they have to make their money back right away, instead they should opt for this "Guerilla tactic" () where people wouldn't even realize they're using a complete new way of gaming till they are half way through a game. Let the people get used to the service now, make an extra buck on some sales, rentals and some subscriptions here and there, but plant the seed in people's minds that will one day become PS5's rose.
Sony has got a huge film and music division with quite the catalog, yet they let Netflix and Spotify dominate in their own house. Although it's rumored they once again will come with their own streaming service (let's play) it's a crying shame they didn't have the presence of mind to make a service right away which combines their own movie, TV (vue), music and game streaming service combined with PS+. With close to 40 million users already they could've offered extra modules on top of Plus which could've given the consumer a all in one streaming service for way less money that Netflix and Spotify could ever do. We'd be paying £20- £25 a month now for PS+, PSNow, a music service and a Netflix competitor and be telling everyone we knew about how much value for money it is. People could buy a PS4 for the optimal experience, but the service would be available on lots of other devices as well; Plus wouldn't be very attractive for these people, but since Sony can offer their services in bulk these people would get a music and movie streaming service for the price of just Netflix.
When I look at Sony it's so hard to look at PS's succes; I only see what it could be. And I honestly think it could be dominating entertainment for the next 20years with PS, PSVR and a bunch of streaming services.
@Tasuki So true! When I come to think of it: if I only had Diablo and Rocket League throughout the entirety of this gen, I'd still think it was totally worth it when the PS5 arrives (then I could wait for the remasters and spend another 8 years on em )
What again was the reason the Pal region doesn't have games like Chrono Trigger? Sure, there's right management, but I'm pretty sure they can sorry that out with a 20 y.o. game.
$9 for P4G huh? Reason enough to buy a PS TV imo, they go for as little as $25- $30 on the second hand market.
Lol, I had the complete opposite: I liked it so much that for a month I didn't do much else than play, watch, talk or read the Witcher. I bought the artbook and strategy guide, ordered all Sapkowski's books when I was 20 hours in and although I had one hell of a ride, it was just too much.
After finishing the game I didn't wanna go back like I first thought I would and the books are still sitting on my shelf. I never indulged in a game I did back then before and I think it is because it hits my exact sweet spot when it comes to high fantasy; in a strange way it's much more relatable than the LOTR of Hobbit crap. I stopped cold turkey and I never thought I'd see Novigrad or Skellige isles again... But the more we discussed our GOTY, the more I got curious bout the world behind the Witcher and last week when I received a Witcher comic book I pre ordered (I was that serious about TW ), I got lost in the lore once more.
Ultimately my GOTY 2015 goes to Xenoblade, a game I enjoy for what it is but where I don't have the chance of burning out on it since no one I know is playing it and there isn't much lore besides what you get in the game. But as an overall experience the Witcher has so much to offer that I don't think it'll be topped this generation; well that is until Johnny Depp plays Geralt in Tim Burton's The Witcher trilogy :S
@bbq_boy Ouch... The SDF thinks it's personal! These things are called "discussion boards" for a reason; we discuss games, the industry, devs, publishers and whatnot. We react to news or share experiences and tell others how we feel... No need to act like that, I wasn't attacking anyone, I was just giving my opinion, about a round disc of hardened TFP you put in an angled box shaped piece of plastic...
@thedevilsjester Is it me or do I detect some hostility? I had the privilege of playing the game twice already and I'm 100% positive that I played those levels before. Reboot, remake... That wasn't the point I'm making. First you want to prove me wrong on the nostalgia bit and now I say remake instead of reboot... Who gives a F, that's not what we're discussing here. Launching this game a week before UC4 is just plain silly... Whether it's a reboot or remake or nostalgia driven or a completely new genre.
@thedevilsjester
It's essentially a remake of the first R&C, but it'll be a nostalgia based purchase for me not so much because of the game, but because of the genre it's in. It's like you said the kind of good ol' family fun that brings me back to the days of Spyro, Crash and Banjoo Kazooie. We had the 2d sprite based revival, now we're seeing a comeback of the 3D platformer. A franchise doesn't have to be old to bring a feeling of nostalgia; when I play Shovel Knight it's like I'm 10 years old again!
I understand they want it to coincide with the movie, but why not release it in January or February and give it another marketing push when the movie's out? The game is said to be ready for months now and they're just waiting for the movie to come out. Maybe they should've pushed Uncharted further back to September, cause although one might argue both are totally different games, people can only spend their money once. This game can sell on nostalgia alone, but Dark Souls 3 and a new Uncharted will beat nostalgia any day of the week.
@Johnnycide Ah, that's righ! Used to be on a Wednesday in the Pal region. They could still work around that though. But it was not so much a statement about the game being free, but more about Plus and how it can ruin sales for these games.
When I read the news of Alienation being delayed on another site I jumped on over to the comments to see the dissapointment of gamers who can't wait to play another Housemarque title. Instead I found a discussion board full of speculation about how long it will take for the game to be avaliable for free on Plus. And when it eventually hits Plus, people don't care too play it anyway... I just hope MS and Sony will sit together and agree on a more sustainable service; I believe that in the end that would be better for the industry as a whole.
@get2sammyb
One might speculate that Alienation was supposed to be a Plus game but maybe negotiations didn't go as planned or Housemarque just wanted to see how they'd do on their own. So now Shadow of the Beast will feature in that month's Plus line up.
This is why I don't like Plus btw: it's killing some games before they even launched. More people will connect the dots like I did, gamers will expect that game's for free and when it eventually turns out we'll have to pay for it people are disappointed. Too many gamers speculate on (indie) games becoming part of Plus at some point and just like Steam sales, who are gradually being less ridiculous btw, it is ultimately bad for the industry I reckon.
I was hoping 5 years tops for the new PS5, especially with Sony betting on VR. We didn't have a good 2015 thanks to the current hardware, but despite. Games like The Witcher and Bloodborne, which are just awesome, couldn't be enjoyed as intended and you even racing games don't target a steady 60fps anymore.
Guess we're all too busy not showing fans of the "other console" we expected more, to see this generation can't hold a candle to the previous ones we had. People who expect leaps in performance like we saw last gen with GTA V and TLOU will be sorely disappointed; currently they're squeezing every little bit of power out of it, there isn't a whole lot more devs can do.
@EWolf Same here! I remember jokingly saying to my brother, with whom I played Diablo3 on the PC, how it would never work. After playing 2 minutes of the PS3 demo, just to prove myself how right I was as usual, I immediately called him and said: "holy F, better preorder D3 on the PS3, cause you're never gonna see me playing on PC ever again", and I never did.
This generation for me didn't start till D3 came to the PS4 because it was the first game that showed why I bothered to buy one. The game has given me so much joy and every time I think I'm done with it they bring a new update and I fall in love with it all over again. I can't think of a game that's been so kind to gamers as Diablo has been.
Diablo is the type of game I play to unwind; the controls are really easy and intuitive and while playing Diablo I can chat with the missus, chat online with my brother or listen to podcasts. Hours fly by while I'm hacking away and afterwards you always feel good... except for that one time I lost my HC character because I figured I could drink coffee while playing on Torment V... Damn arcane magic.

Oh ok, zijn ze niet allemaal hetzelfde? No wonder I got it all wrong!

Re: PS4 Puzzler The Witness Selling Very, Very Well
At that pricepoint you have to sell what, 400 games to reach $5 million?
I'm glad it's doing so well, yet I feel $40 is really pushing it. I was hoping we'd see smaller "triple A" titles for $40 or $50 this gen, like we've been seeing on the Wii U with Captain Toad, Splatoon, Yoshi's Woolly World and Kirby's Rainbow Road, and that indies would never cost us more than $30. With indies creeping up towards the $40 region chances are we won't see those $40 games from bigger devs/ publishers too often.
But if people are paying it, more power to them! I myself am waiting for a pricedrop of at least $20, which I've gotta hand to Blow; if it would've cost $20 at launch I wouldn't have bought it, if it's marked down to $30 now I'd seriously consider it
Re: Opinion: Firewatch's Paltry Five Trophies Prove That the System Needs Fixing
@get2sammyb
Re: Review: LEGO Marvel's Avengers (PS4)
@Tasuki
Re: Final Fantasy XV's Release Date Announcement Is Announced
@Gamer83
More games than spare time really
Re: Final Fantasy XV's Release Date Announcement Is Announced

Don't fool yourself, you like the pain... every FF fan does....
Re: Final Fantasy XV's Looking Freakin' Rad on PS4
@ShogunRok

Re: First Impressions: The Division Shows Promise on PS4, But There Are Worries
@ShogunRok
I've noticed. I've spoken out about this in the past, but sometimes it feels too fanboyish which totally contrasts the overall quality of the site. Sure, it'll attract people, but will it attract the kinda gamer you want?
Re: First Impressions: The Division Shows Promise on PS4, But There Are Worries
@ShogunRok
That's what she said.
Re: First Impressions: The Division Shows Promise on PS4, But There Are Worries
I think what Robert really wants to say, and correct me if I'm wrong, that The Division "feels" more like an Xbox One game. Where for instance The Witness, SFV, The Last Guardian and Tomb Raider ironically enough are clearly PlayStation games, The Division just doesn't feel right playing on our beloved PS4.
So take your Division Ubisoft and try and sell it to the 19 million tools who are clearly foolish enough to buy into cheesy marketing talk, we already have Destiny as our go to mindless shooty-bang-bang 'em up!
Re: Hideo Kojima's Getting Poetic Over His PlayStation Tour
Hmm,,, more and more DualShockers articles keep on popping up here...
Re: Apple's Assembling a Secret Virtual Reality Division
@Flaming_Kaiser
Like I clearly said: they aren't in the position of kickstarting a new industry...
Re: Apple's Assembling a Secret Virtual Reality Division
Re: Metal Gear Solid V Ships Over 6 Million Copies as Konami Profits
Re: Apple's Assembling a Secret Virtual Reality Division
@adf86
Re: Shawn Layden, Can You Top This Presser Entrance?
Ive noticed the people at PushSquare like DualShockers too! That Giuseppe can be a bit of a #%^*, but he is bringing the news faster than his shadow.... Okay, that didn't make sense..

Re: Apple's Assembling a Secret Virtual Reality Division
I wonder why Sony is so quiet about PS VR when it's supposed to ship within 5 months.
All the talk about VR failing if it's not affordable might be right, that's why I don't understand why there isn't a subscription model: PS VR and Plus with a 2 year contract for $20 a month. I know Apple would sell it like that, just like they do with their phones.
Re: Review: The Witness (PS4)
@Matroska
I imagine the first years of VR gaming to be filled with games like these; they aren't too taxing, there isn't any action that'll make you sick and you'll enjoy the scenery so much more.
Re: Review: The Witness (PS4)
@Matroska
Re: Review: The Witness (PS4)
I'm sorry if this is discussed, I don't wanna read the review because of possible spoilers, but does The Witness indeed feel like "Lost: the game" while playing? Everything about the trailers and screenshots give me the sense that they took Lost's island as a premise and started working from there.
If this game doesn't get an iOS F2P release, where you can buy hints and clues which will ultimately destroy the very essence of the game, what will? They will make more money than 10 Braids combined!
Re: Feature: What Did We Learn from Hideo Kojima's Sony Tech Tour?
@Neolit
Edit 2: Oh noes, I think I am in love...

Re: Feature: What Did We Learn from Hideo Kojima's Sony Tech Tour?

Hear, hear! I'm glad that with Kojima not shaving it's finally scientifically proven! I'm sure Cerny would have a beard too if he could grow one.
Re: Massively Online Third Person Shooter Warhammer 40k: Eternal Crusade Is Coming to PS4

@arnoldlayne83 Lol!

Re: Interview: We Talk Everything Digital with the Producer of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth

Re: 23 PS3 Classics Stream to UK PlayStation Now Service
@get2sammyb
I've got a theory about PSnow which I hope you can touch upon if you ever get to write your article, which also concerns backwards compatibility:
Re: Diablo 3's Glorious PS4 Patch 2.4.0 Is Yours to Loot Right Now
@Tasuki
So true! When I come to think of it: if I only had Diablo and Rocket League throughout the entirety of this gen, I'd still think it was totally worth it when the PS5 arrives (then I could wait for the remasters and spend another 8 years on em )
Re: PS4 Essentials Go Cheap in NA PlayStation Store Sale
What again was the reason the Pal region doesn't have games like Chrono Trigger? Sure, there's right management, but I'm pretty sure they can sorry that out with a 20 y.o. game.
$9 for P4G huh? Reason enough to buy a PS TV imo, they go for as little as $25- $30 on the second hand market.
Re: Diablo 3's Glorious PS4 Patch 2.4.0 Is Yours to Loot Right Now
The game that keeps on giving! If you lost all faith in modern day gaming, play Diablo!
Re: The Witcher 3 Sweeps Game of the Year Awards on Official PlayStation Blog
Can't believe how blatantly they stole PushSquare's Platinum/ Gold/ Silver/ Bronze trophy format for their GOTY competition!
Re: Soapbox: Why I Don't Hate The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Anymore
Re: Go Lombax to the Future with Ratchet & Clank on PS4
@bbq_boy
Ouch...
Re: Go Lombax to the Future with Ratchet & Clank on PS4
@thedevilsjester
Is it me or do I detect some hostility? I had the privilege of playing the game twice already and I'm 100% positive that I played those levels before. Reboot, remake... That wasn't the point I'm making. First you want to prove me wrong on the nostalgia bit and now I say remake instead of reboot... Who gives a F, that's not what we're discussing here. Launching this game a week before UC4 is just plain silly... Whether it's a reboot or remake or nostalgia driven or a completely new genre.
Re: Go Lombax to the Future with Ratchet & Clank on PS4
@thedevilsjester
Re: Go Lombax to the Future with Ratchet & Clank on PS4
I understand they want it to coincide with the movie, but why not release it in January or February and give it another marketing push when the movie's out? The game is said to be ready for months now and they're just waiting for the movie to come out. Maybe they should've pushed Uncharted further back to September, cause although one might argue both are totally different games, people can only spend their money once. This game can sell on nostalgia alone, but Dark Souls 3 and a new Uncharted will beat nostalgia any day of the week.
Re: Rumour: Shadow of the Beast Holds Back the Blood as PS4 Exclusive Is Delayed
@Johnnycide
Ah, that's righ!
Re: Weirdness: Police Arrest Man Who Urinated on Video Games
You can take a man out of Bosnia, but you can never take the Bosnia out of a man; a headline in America, Tuesday in Sarajevo
Re: Rumour: Shadow of the Beast Holds Back the Blood as PS4 Exclusive Is Delayed
@get2sammyb
Re: PS5 Could Launch as Early as 2019, Reckons Analyst
Re: Diablo 3's Gigantic New PS4 Patch Is Almost an Expansion, and It's Out Soon
@EWolf
Same here!
