@Nem I would have agreed with you when I was middle school, and had years to wait... I'm turn 30 this year, and we still haven't seen GTA6, or the next Elder Scrolls... etc. The last games in these franchises came out when I was between the ages of 13-15. At this rate, I'll be pushing 50 (That's even if I make it to 50) before I even think about sequel to a lot of games.
@RicebinBernacky like really so many people forget that 🤣
@OptimusPrime1 Maybe? Maybe not? But you figure for a gaming website they would realize that US+Canada is the primary marketing market, and if something like this would drop… It’ll be based off their time zone 🤷
I mean... What time frame are we using? Isn't it being developed by Ubisoft Montreal. It barely 11AM if you go off their time, and as for the rest of the North America. The day has barely started... lol
@MrPeanutbutterz Forza in general has always been the mushy in between. It neither a arcade racer and nor a sim racer. That why it an actually proper simcade, not a wannabe try hard that is GT...
@naruball $5-10 cheaper is understandable. A launch day sale would be expected… But a whole $20 cheaper is crazy. Sony ain’t launching their games on PC for $20 cheaper
@graymamba I wouldn't worry too much about it especially if it only 55 employees. Massive Entertainment isn't exactly a small studio. It in their name. They have been able to not only ship Avatar, but release Outlaws the next year... While also continuing to support TD2. They are a massive studio.
WOW!!! Dang. With this news, it really seems like VR is in dead water at this point unless the new Steam VR headset actually bring growth to the market
@Rodimusprime13 "With more game releases the older games will tend to come down in price to around $20"
You don't need more games releasing for the game to drops to $20. The price will fall with age, and DLC releases. And you can usually wait for a Ultimate Edition that has all DLC + base games.
"The DLC's often tend to be priced close to the price of a full game for only a few hours of gameplay"
Most the DLC for this game have general been in the $14 dollar range. Yeah. DAIMA - Adventure pack is $40, but that gave a new entire map to explore
The only people who thing they should have split it up is people like you who are trying bloat their trophy list with stupid simple platinums
@Rodimusprime13 So you would rather have them do what CC2 did with the storm games, and have them release pointless multiple game base of specific story Arc, and have games that doesn't necessarily improve gameplay... But continue to charge $60-70 per game. Just so you can have trophies/achievement?
@katamariUK It would benefit Microsoft greatly to not do launch day releases. People will gladly double dip. Doing same launch day only benefits those only have PlayStation.
@AndroidBango The question is how many of that 5 million are repeat buyer or new buyers tho. Cause I own FH5 on 3 different platforms… Steam, Xbox, and I purchased FH5 last week on PS5. My friends owns it on Steam cause I gifted him a copy the Christmas it came out, and he purchased it also last week to play on PS5 using his racing setup.
@HOWARDSROCK No one is saying that this has to sell 20 million copies. 3-5 million is average success for a AAA games. And it only hit that after a year, multiple sales, and long term word of mouth. KCD2 has also basically hit the same sales numbers… If you had told me this was closing in on 10 million. Then we would be having a different conversation 🤷
@Breity247 Granted, saying the "Sales figures speak for themselves" when mention E33 isn't really a big win or a take note moment. E33 only has 5 million sales. So it not exactly a top seller. Good for a smaller team... like Sandfall tho.
This is neither good or bad news. During the early and mid 2000s, they used to dump out a bunch of Digimon games... But a lot of it wasn't very good. (I own a lot of them across the DS, Vita, PSP, and Playstation)
What made time stranger great was that it was actually a big budget digimon game not limited by weaker tech of handhelds systems. More digimon is always great, but... it need to match the same quality
@ShadowRJ It sold over 10 million over the course of 10 years, and didn't hit it growth potential until Persona 5 Royal was release which was basically 8 million of that 10 million, so only it only ever sold like 3.2 million originally.
@BearsEatBeets If you have played any of the recent FH games. You can see that the company have slowly been pivoting away and growing the team talent and engine capabilities to support the ability to release multiple games in different categories.
I’ve been watching a lot of Netflix Witcher content over the holidays and I’m ready to jump back into the games… But man does Witcher 3 look old. Some modern update flare would look good.
@TheArt “ If games were everywhere, who would even bother with a low powered console like Switch. It would be about the highest powered console available to play everything.”
Not at all remotely true. It would be about what provides the most unique experience and features. Nintendo had Mario and Zelda for ages, but that didn’t stop the Game Cube, N64, and WiiU from selling poorly.
PlayStation has never done well based on exclusives. PlayStation has always out sold their competitors based on lower prices and offer unique features (CD and DVD playback). The switch does well because it the only reasonable handheld platform on the market.
@Lavishturtle “ I guess they never watched the movies over the decades or read the books.”
Let’s say they did watch those films… None of the movies and books would have an affect on the character they’re creating anyway. Multiple times they saw that they are creating a character that is a origin story compared to the one in other media
@Nepp67 F76 was them trying to reinvent the wheel. It was something new, and they wanted to do something completely different... Now it good cause they basically decided to just make fallout online which they should have done in the first place. Copy what they had before and just add multiplayer
@Nepp67 Cause Starfield is a new IP. Elder Scroll is an established IP that already has a copyable format to it gameplay, lore, and story... No need to reinvent the wheel. Elder Scrolls also has the benefit of a smaller scope since they only have to populate a single map.... Not multiple planets.
He missed out on the one platform where this would have benefited releasing one… Switch. How are you going release a game like this and not have it on Switch, but did an Xbox port. No one truly is buying a power hungry $500+ console to play games like this. This needs to be on a handheld
What is the story of this game. There are so many mix and match story beat from the entire media history of Batman…. Lol. Could this be the ultimate Batman that combines everything into one character. Batman to rule them all?
@BearsEatBeets It doesn’t seem too early… Larian likes doing early access for their games. Early access for BG3 was 3 years before the game even fully released. They showed off the CG trailers at the Stadia event in July 2019, dropped the Early access in October 2020… with the final game releasing in 2023
Warner Bro has done nothing but dig itself a massive MASSIVE grave for the last decade. Death of Cartoon Network. Warner Bro has been nothing but complete and utter GARGABE tier company. If anything, this purchase may actually be a GOD tier life saver... If not, Warner Bro would have been dead company in 10 years anyway, and Netflix would be buying these IP on a fire sale. At least maybe we can get a few more years out of these IP...
@Jammer The most realistic thing anyone has said that this could be is Diablo. The animal can be explained by the Druid class, skulls can be explained by Necromancer… etc It the only game out that isn’t years away especially it probably time for new content.
I wonder what good deals they’ll have for the Pro. I may be interested in buying one as I move away from PC and back to consoles as my main platform. I’ll lost all interest in PCs due to my day job, and with the Steam Frame… I can get my vr fix that way.
@Nepp67 The switch from the rotation mainly has to do with the fact Sledgehammer can’t make a CoD game to save their lives. They was supposed make Cold War with Raven Software, but development went no where. So treyarch was pulled in to lead development. @KingPev That 6 million is only cause they recently shipped a new expansions. It quickly falls to under 5 million when people are done with finish the expansion. It been steady declining and it in a worse state than when Microsoft started the purchase of Activision. When your company was purchased as part of deal for $70 billion... Pulling in less than 6 million is not a good look which why Blizzard has had multiple project canceled.
