After being closed by Microsoft and rescued by KRAFTON, Hi-Fi Rush and The Evil Within developer Tango Gameworks has officially reopened for business. The Japanese team has a new logo and website to go with the relaunch as it starts to recruit new hires to work on an unannounced action game.
On the website, it is said: "It took us some time, but the official office for Tango Gameworks, Inc. is open, and our hybrid work environment finally has its in-office counterpart! These things take time, but our office in Tokyo is back open as we fill it with our memorabilia from our projects and begin decorating based on our new brand identity!"
Tango Gameworks is now in the early stages of creating an all-new action game, which it is advertising positions for in almost every department. "While we aren’t ready to reveal much yet, Tango Gameworks has a number of positions open for early work on an unannounced action game!"
Speaking to the studio logo, it — along with the website — is designed to represent "what it feels like to make a game". Its vision is "centred on a studio that acts like a creative workshop, making games and experiences that emphasize that “hand-made” feel we put into our work".
Originally founded in 2010 under Zenimax Media, the developer is best known for the aforementioned Hi-Fi Rush and The Evil Within entries, as well as the early PS5 title Ghostwire: Tokyo.

Fantastic news! One of the worst things that came from Microsoft’s consolidation of the industry was the closure of Tango! They were one of my favourite developers and I hope that in time they are able to work on a horror title that will help replace the loss of The Evil Within!
@Bionic-Spencer More Evil Within would be great!
Ghostwire Tokyo is one of my favourite game releases of this generation. It’s excellent. Hope these guys find success in the years to come.
Rare industry W
Phil Spencer: "We need games like Hi-Fi Rush!"
closes studio
Glad to see they're back and in full operation. Can't wait to see what they cook up.
"Everybody liked that"
I would enjoy a evil within 3.word up son
MS: Hi-Fi Rush was such an amazing success, we need more of these AA games…
… closing the studio
Tango Gameworks couple of months later: Ok, let’s start again from here.
@ButterySmooth30FPS the same over and over again with Phil and MS.
Only four games
Most of the time it’s exactly the opposite that happens.
Great news!! Hopefully everyone who was “sadden” by the lost of studio… actually supports the studio this time around.
This is amazing news. Let's hope they can keep delivering the good games they always made.
I hope they managed to retain most of the original team…
Yeah, I don't think survival horror is in the agenda anymore. 😅
Good luck to them on this new chapter!
I see they chose Apple flavour for their Tango logo.
Glad to see them back. That’s actually a relief. God bless ‘em.
Let's go! Man, I hope it's Hi-Fi Rush 2. Also, unfortunate news for all asking for more Evil Within, but they don't own the IP. The only IP purchased by Krafton from Microsoft was Hi-Fi Rush.
Congrats. Looking forward to their next game.
So happy for them that's great news the kind of games I enjoy they make
Always nice seeing good news.
This is fantastic news. I hope they actually have the funds and infrastructure to survive and thrive and actually release the games that they love to make
Does anyone know where the money goes if I bought the evil within now? Would tango get any money, or would it all be going to microsoft?
Sucks that EW IP stayed at Microsoft but hopefully after the inevitable Hi-Fi Rush sequel they make something akin to Evil Within in survival-horror genre.
