Twitchy Battlefield 6 players are already beginning to receive their physical PS5 copies of the game ahead of its release later this week, on 10th October.
And there’s good news for fans of boxed copies: the full game is included on the disc. Now, this excludes any inevitable day one patches, so you’re probably still going to have to set aside some time for a download at launch. But you won’t need to pull the full 68GB at least.
We should add that the box art does mention a “persistent Internet connection [is] required to play”. The servers are apparently live at the time of writing, and it sounds like the single player campaign won’t run offline, which is a real shame.
Still, it’s good to learn Battlefield 6’s physical copy isn’t merely a Game Key Disc – especially when you consider it’s primarily an online-focused game.
In fact, it makes other shoddy physical releases like DOOM: The Dark Ages and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle even more frustrating in hindsight. Those are single player games which should never have deployed in the state they did.
