Following on from its impressive number one debut in the Japanese sales charts last week, Ghost of Yotei's numbers have fallen off fairly hard — but it's still managed to hold on in second place.
The PS5 exclusive moved 120,196 physical copies within its launch week, having dropped on the 2nd October. It's shifted an additional 26,776 units since then, bringing its total up to 146,972 copies.
Again, that's a very healthy return for a non-Nintendo title, or something that isn't an evergreen property like Dragon Quest or Monster Hunter.

Speaking of evergreen — and Nintendo games — it was Switch 2 launch title Mario Kart World that jumped Sony's latest. It'll be interesting to see whether Yotei remains in the top ten by this time next week.
Yotei hasn't been able to match the sheer surge in popularity that Ghost of Tsushima enjoyed, but there are a few factors to consider. Most notably, Tsushima released during the pandemic, and Yotei arrives in a time when digital sales are even more dominant.
Still, we imagine that these figures are pretty much inline with expectations. While Sony is yet to divulge any official numbers, we know that Yotei's been a huge hit across Europe, and it shouldn't be too long until we hear about how it's performed in the US.
