Vita: Freedom Wars gameplay or info, first party game reveals, more info on PlayStation Vita Pets, God Eater 2 update, Vita price drop, memory card price drop, Gravity Rush 2 and Soul Sacrifice 2 confirmation, Project Diva confirmation and some third party titles.

PS3: Price drop.

Awesome!!! I am going to guess the second week of November 12th-16th. As much as I would like to see it release in October, I think that might be too soon.

@Squiggle55 Remember the disaster of the Saturn's now available reveal? Yeah that wouldn't happen to the PS4. I'd be waiting in line at the Best Buy I preordered at that afternoon. I do hope the release date is Oct 29th...

@-CraZed- I agree, back when the Saturn launched the internet was not what it is today. If Sony launched next week they are already sold through their preorders. The second wave would have the benefit of word of mouth from the PlayStation faithful(all of us) an beat Microsoft out the gate by three months. Having said that, I still look for an October/ November launch date to allow additional marketing/production.

I'm guessing the launch will be the second week in November since that's month companies like to release new consoles now. Hopefully it's October though, I'm more than ready for next-gen.

Basically the idiots at Sega thought it would be a good idea to announce the system was launching almost right after it was revealed. No hype, no planning with retailers, the whole thing with Saturn was a nigtmare. A shame too because it actually wasn't a bad system.

Well...at least Sony wouldn't have to worry about the lack of hype for their system. But still, I think a late Oct./early Nov. launch is more likely than a "surprise, we launch now"-thing.

Yeah, we probably won't ever see a stealth launch like that again. One of the worst ideas, ever, but typical mid-90s Sega.

@Grockumus Imagine how awesome it would be if Sony actually announced even half of that. It would be especially good for the PS4, since people (Xbox fanboys) don't seem to understand that not announcing all of their games at once is a good strategy.

@Lelouch Yeah, exactly. Appetizers must be served a good time before the main course meal BOOM! (there, now I'm starting to sound just like Mr. Champloo from Disgaea 3). Although it would be amazing to see all of that stuff you listed being announced all at Gamescom, it really wouldn't be a good strategy to do so, since it t would take too much time to "digest" all of the news at once, and some would even be forgotten.

@Grockumus If the rumors are true, then Sony has everything figured out. Naughty Dog will announce Uncharted 4 at the VGA's, Studio Japan will most likely give us a Freedom Wars update at TGS and GamesCom will play host to a few new Vita and PS4 updates/reveals.

@get2sammyb Watchdogs is confirmed as a Day one title for PS4 according to IGN. Wouldn't that mean the PS4 will be released on November 19 or later since Watchdogs release date is on the 19th.

@Ares1985 not really as those are the release dates for the current gen versions of the game so the next gen version could come out at any time in fact the PS4 version doesn't have a release date yet

after all they can't really release the PS4 version before the PS4 is out now can they?

@FullbringIchigo I think Watchdogs will be released on November 19th on the PS4, if was going to be released earlier Sony would be advertising it as a timed exclusive.
