Just platinumed this last week at 90 hours and enjoyed it a fair bit (7/10) but will speed run the NG+ on maybe Easy difficulty, just for the 100% trophy. Looking forward to the DLC hope it continues Naoe’s story from where Act 3 leaves off…..
Honestly, I could play my backlog for six months and probably still not run out. I ain’t paying $80 (nor prolly $70) for any game right now. Only game I might make the exception for rn is Yotei.
^Eh, I thought GoT had some of the best side quests I’ve ver seen in a game because they weren’t organized as like dozens of one-off quests from random no-name NPCs all over the map. Instead, the side quests were organized around 4ish main NPCs with ~10 quests in each line, so I found the side quests to be a lot deeper and more meaningful because they tended to progress & develop the story of your closest allies. The side quests in GoT felt like extensions of the main story to me. In particular, the warrior monk Norio’s story was my favorite.
Ghost of Tsushima is a classic. It's a really great all-around package, when you consider the base game playthru, the DLC, and then the online mode (which is actually pretty good) — you can easily get 100 hours out of it. It has a really great story for an open world sorta game; it'll touch you at times.
You're not wrong that GOW Ragnarok could have charged $10 hell even $20 for that DLC, and I would've still felt like I got my money's worth. I thought the newest Astro Bot levels were the best yet. They gave away TLOU2 upgrade for free, right? And HZD upgrade for $10? Yeah, I voted highest marks in this poll. (Shame about that lack of PS Plus upgrade path for Days Gone, tho...)
I'm pretty sure that I can refund my preorder for up to two weeks (since I didn't download it yet) so I'll kinda wait & see how the user reviews/consensus pan out, but I'll probably keep the purchase and play this. The sentiment that I see in this/other reviews is about what I was expecting. I'm currently playing like a 100+ hour game (AC Shadows, which is well made but daunting at times due to the size/scale) so I'm kinda craving playing something short next.
Their dedication to this game and the world of Night City is commendable, this many years after release. I'll be happy with whatever they showcase tomorrow, it's all icing on the cake at this point, but my theoretical wishlist would be for an FOV slider (I can dream, right?)
Looking forward to playing this after running thru Deus Ex again last month, but I hope it doesn’t have coop multiplayer trophies that might be a deal breaker for me.
Hmm, well I do feel like I get my value/money's worth out of my sub, for two reasons: 1.) I tend to play at least 6-8 or 10 of the free monthly games per year, so I'm probably making my money right here. In fact, I'm playing one right now. However, and most important, 2.) The amount of time I save by using the PS Cloud for stuff (i.e., probably Platinum/trophy related) is worth more to me than the $$ anyway.
Nope. I’ve watched some of both games on Twitch, but I have zero interest in playing these games. I am really fatigued by open world games at this point, and I don’t think I have the patience for everything else going on here.
I just replayed the base game and played the DLC yesterday, and it's amazing how well made the game is. I hope FromSoft is paying attention because I think LoP is better than any of the From/SoulsBourne titles.
I would like to see the Simon (phase 2) fight reworked to be a bit more sensible / playable, and this is actually a rare game for me that screams out “photo mode.” I give the game like a 9/10 as is though; it’s near perfect already.
I agree with the comments that yearn for a minimap. I think the exploration does suffer from this sense of wandering around aimlessly hoping you’re going in the right direction but never really being sure. It usually ends up working out (because I usually find loot/worth), but at times it feels like this game moves forward at a sluggish pace because I’m running in circles.
Tricky to rate a multiplayer focused game because everyone’s experience is gonna be different, but generally I would describe Nightreign as a game w really high high’s and really low low’s… perhaps averaging out to like a 6/10…. But potential to rise to 7-8/10 if this game receives good support/updates. There is definitely potential, to make this game greater…
It sounds half baked to me (e.g., no cross play). The fact that every run uses essentially the same map is gonna get old really fast. It sounds like it needs more work but will people play it long enough to justify the patches?
I think those wishing for a “better rewards program” are high on copium. I think the point of Sony killing this rewards program is they’re trying to find ways to avoid raising prices given the current economic conditions, so the rewards program is the first thing to go.
It was a really great game. After I played it, I found myself wishing some of this game’s features were present in other games within this genre (like the brilliant “photo” system)
Free? Wow. I thought I had read previously it would be a paid DLC. Kudos to the devs, I enjoyed the game well enough and look forward to checking out the new content!
Been optimistic for this game for a while (I feel like the delays will probably have done this game good(?)) so I'm in for the preorder to snag the DLC now. Looking forward to jumping into this this weekend.
I don’t understand the backlash. I would argue that most preorder bonuses offer LESS, e.g. a costume, a weapon skin, a couple skill points, some music tracks or art models. At least for the ~$20, one is purchasing extra TIME with the game which is actually worth something as opposed to a virtual costume.
Preorder bonuses are so easy to ignore that I’m surprised anyone gets up in arms about it. I’m totally fine that others are willing to pay a few extra bucks for a few days of EA. It literally has no effect on my purchase or enjoyment of the game.
Personally for me, the only time I upgrade to Deluxe or go in on a preorder is the rare time that the bonus actually includes additional/DLC content (e.g., Alan Wake 2 did this, and AC: Shadows is currently offering this).
Hm, I only tried once to refund a game that I had purchased, downloaded, but not played yet (within like the first week) and I was told by the person in the phone they couldn’t help me if I’d already started downloading. I still have that game in my library, unplayed.

I'd pay like $10 for a slice of nostalgia.

Re: Xbox Backtracks on $80 Price Tag for The Outer Worlds 2 Following Public Outcry
Preorder sales/numbers must’ve been *****. That’s the only “feedback” that would sway them.
Re: Mafia: The Old Country Looks More Like Uncharted with Each New Trailer
This feels like it could be a good time? Won't be a high priority for me, but might check out later/on sale if it's good.

o7s for Playstation Stars. Probably made at least $100 out of ya over the years.

25 hours? The base game of GoT was 50-60 hours for me.

Nah, no interest vs current backlog, but Jusant looks like a good “rainy Sunday” kinda game for me, will add that to my library to play at some point.

Re: Bungie Delays Marathon Indefinitely, No New PS5, PC Release Date Given
It might turn out ok. AC Shadows was delayed twice by like six months and that game turned out ok. Maybe the game needs more dev time.
I’m trying to be optimistic at least, even if I have no interest in this (multiplayer) title either way.
Re: Pocket a Platinum in PS Plus Premium's Seminal New Retro Release
@Shigurui oh that’s so good to hear! Yeah I was hopeful the hardware/performance limitations from the PS2 era would be smoother now.

I was thinking about this last night; I am SO EXCITED to play this again. I think this is one of my five favorite games of all time.

Re: There's a Brutal Lack of Interest in Marathon from Hardcore PS5 Fans
I mean it’s a multiplayer game, and I don’t play them (not even Nightreign recently which kinda straddled the line).
Re: There's a Lot of Hype for PS5 Horror Cronos: The New Dawn
Hell yeah I’m willing to give Bloober the benefit of the doubt ever since Silent Hill 2! The previews for this game look sick.
Re: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Patch 1.300 Out Now on PS5, Makes Big Balance and Difficulty Adjustments
I hope they add a photo mode; this is the kinda game that could really benefit from one imo.

Re: Rumour: Greek God of War Game Is a 2.5D Metroidvania
POP The Lost Crown is one of the best Metroid vania’s I’ve ever played, so if this game ends up anything like that, then I’m sure I will be happy.

@dBacklash Same. I platinumed this game in 215 hours and pretty much hate this game now, as a result.

Re: Poll: Do You Care About the Death of PlayStation Stars?
I redeemed store credit from it quite regularly. I think it worked out to like 4% cash back on game purchases if you had an active PS+ sub.
