High on Life may have been free, but as a trophy hunter it was not worth the 30 hours for the platinum. Regret. I think I end up playing worse games than I otherwise would have because of the PS Plus.

Hm, I already played Veilguard (twice), so that's a miss for me, but Veilguard's combat is surprisingly fun and I think a lot of people are gonna realize it's better than the word-of-mouth would've led you to believe.

Good. Common sense prevails. The game features neither gambling of real currency nor gambling of fake/in game currency. It’s like they assumed that just because it’s a card game it must have gambling.

I still haven’t bought this game, because it still hasn’t gone on sale once. I’m not surprised to hear it’s doing well, tho.

I hang out in the Souls community a lot on Twitch, i.e., I watch a lot of Souls challenge content. Everybody in the community knows that Gino Machino is the GOAT. There’s no gimmicks to his gameplay; he is just incredibly well practiced. A true professional dedicated to his craft. Well done Gino!

Their offering the DLC expansion as preorder bonus is actually tempting. I’m getting good vibes from this game.

5/10, I enjoyed the back half of the game decently, but the first 20-25 hours were a slog and I found a lot of the experience to be frustrating, janky, uneven, etc. Hard for me to recommend. Only for the most patient of gamers.

As a casual Civ enjoyer, there is literally zero reason for me to pay extra to buy this game day 1 when they're going to be dripping out content gradually for years. I'll check back in circa 2027, when the second expansion probably comes out and this is bundled on sale.

The best game of its sort (e.g., metroidvania etc.) that I’ve played in a long while.

Not mad about it because I played a game each of the last three months, but this month looks like a skip for me.

I could tell something was wrong with this game when they put it on 40% discount less than two months after release. That's not a good sign.

I wouldn't pay $100 for my favorite game, let alone for GTA6. I have enough games in my backlog to last me plenty long, without needing to buy anything new.

They wasted the majority of the console generation over live service crap.

Imagine if Bluepoint had been making a Bloodborne Remake this entire time. Or even a current gen port of GOW 1/2. But alas...

I feel like that’s a pretty good “something for everyone” kinda month. I’m in to check out the updated content in Stanley Parable.

@mu5hr00m_k1ngd0m I always power it off by holding the button, but it still seems to drain battery while off anyway. I read that someone recommended to try setting it to Airplane mode before powering it off, maybe that will help.

I bought one almost a year ago but I never use it. About once per month, I will be in the mood to use it but the battery drains when it’s powered down, so it’s out of battery every time I pick it up to try to use it. The battery seems to be the Achilles heel for Sony peripherals.

Just played this last week, and was rather impressed with the job Bloober did on the remake! Great stuff

Watched some of this game on stream and my main takeaway is that British humor is weird.

I’m actually really satisfied with these results. Looks about as good as I could’ve hoped for. Congrats to Astro Bot and the rest of the winners!

Looking forward to more Lies of P and sci fi horror sounds interesting to me.

As someone who likes to torture myself by 100%ing every game I start, Balatro was the worst decision to play that I made all year long. This game is over 200 hours in length (but I didn’t see this advertised at the time), and the repetitious grind is maddening. As much I as I enjoy some of the game’s other design choices, the (first) completionist grind killed the joy of the game for me. (Ironically, I didn’t mind the second “completionist++” grind as much, which was shorter and more fun mechanically.)

I had no option to cash redeem before (i.e., it was missing) but now I have the option to redeem 1,250 for $5 again. My only option, but I was able to redeem it multiple times instantly.

@MrPeanutbutterz A quick Google/reddit search suggests that all three of my issues are not unique to “my controller” but you do what you will with your $200. I’ve gotten better lifespan out of the far cheaper base models, and will continue to use them. It’s just disappointing when you pay 3-4x as much for a “deluxe” product, but the build quality is inferior to the default.

Dual Sense edge is a terrible buy. The quality is worse than the standard controller that’s 75% cheaper. I bought one in Jan 2023 but started having multiple hardware issues by about April 2024 including stick issues (not drift, but worse), battery issues (goes dead even when plugged in), and build issues (rubber grips for your hands are warping/peeling).

Why buy a $200 Edge when you can buy a superior model for $55 on sale? Aka the base model

IDK how much credibility TGA had in the first place, but they will forfeit all remaining credibility if they award GOTY to Elden Ring's DLC.

Also I agree they should just make a separate award for DLC of the year.

Played this game at release last year, but had my playthrough ruined by weird/wild bugs. Never went back to replay this one.

I’m having a hard time believing this game sold poorly. I wonder what their expectations were. This game was very well made. This is a shame.

From the perspective of the publisher, it’s brilliant charging extra for early access. But I will not support this trend with my cash.

If the base game now costs $50 and the deluxe costs $70, then why does the deluxe upgrade still cost $25? Guess I'm still waiting to play the DLC...

I would pay no more than $20 for a HZD PS5 remaster (if it included the DLC). If this is like a $10 or $20 upgrade, then ok I'm in. If not, easy pass.
