Anyone looking to earn PS Stars points they want to exchange for free PS Store credit must do so in the next 24 hours and change, as the ability to claim points from your game purchases is going offline tomorrow, 23rd July.
The move is only the latest step in Sony's decision to slowly take its PS Stars rewards program offline. In May 2025, the underutilised service stopped accepting new users, then last week, it released the final digital collectible for users to earn. Now, the ability to earn Points from your PS Store purchases is going away, along with any account level-ups and earnable collectibles.
Here's the official wording from Sony:
Current PlayStation Stars members can still earn Digital Collectibles, Points and level up their status until July 23, 2025 at 7:59AM PDT | 3:59PM BST | 11:59PM JST. After this date, there will be no new PlayStation Stars Campaigns available, or any additional rewards or status benefits to earn.
Any points from PS Stars you have on your account after the cutoff point will remain, and you can still spend them. However, the ability to earn more points from your PS Store purchases is being removed. Therefore, if you don't have enough points for something after today, there won't be any other way to get more. PS Stars will shut down entirely on 2nd November 2026.
