Silent Hill 2 PS5

Over five million people have played Silent Hill 2 when you combine sales and subscription service downloads, Konami today announced.

Across its original release platforms, the PS5 and PC, and the Xbox Series X|S port that came out later, the total reflects "digital and physical sales, store downloads and subscription services".

The previous sales update from Konami revealed Silent Hill 2 had sold 2.5 million copies in October 2025, suggesting that roughly half of the remake's players have come from subscription services. In terms of those memberships, the game is currently only available on PS Plus Extra.

While Konami always had plans to bring the series back in a big way, Silent Hill 2 helped spark the resurgence that has led to Silent Hill F launching to positive feedback last year, and Silent Hill: Townfall arriving at some point in 2026. The developer of the Silent Hill 2 remake, Bloober Team, is also bringing back the original Silent Hill from the PS1 in a full remake.

In our Silent Hill 2 PS5 review, we awarded a 9/10 rating and concluded: "So much of what made the Konami classic a masterpiece in 2001 remains in this PS5 remake 23 years later, with the same unforgettable story, satisfying exploration, and weighty combat." Anyone looking to go back to the release can also complement their playthrough with our Silent Hill 2 guide.
