Metal Gear Solid Delta Push Square

Konami today confirmed last year's Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has surpassed two million sales worldwide. It's doubled its total sales since release in August 2025, when the PS5 remake instantly opened to one million purchases on launch day.

The update actually means the latest edition is already one of the best-selling versions of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. On PS2, it's said to have sold more than four million copies, but no other version since then has come close to matching it. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is already halfway there, beating out the Nintendo 3DS version and the HD Collection.

We called Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater the "best version of an undisputed classic" in our 9/10-rated PS5 review last year. "Its light but meaningful gameplay updates enhance interaction and feel, while a visual overhaul allows it to rub shoulders with the PS5’s graphical elite," we concluded. "By staying so loyal to its source text, Metal Gear Solid 3 is now just as incredible today as it was over 20 years ago."
