Cmooooon release date!!!

As with all classic remakes, I'd be both excited and terrified. FF6 is one of the best and needs more love for sure...but my faith in SE is at an all-time low after the disaster that was FF7R. If they changed any story points in a 6 remake it will be terrible. I'm equally scared for the rumored FF9 remake...my favorite game of all time.

I knew right away all the basics would pick Cloud despite the answer being Zidane. 😉 Against the emos like Cloud and Squall and the whiners Tidus and Vahn, Zidane is confident, tough, hilarious, soft hearted, and well rounded.
Anyway...there are many "right" answers to this question (Cecil, Terra, Squall, etc) but only one solidly wrong one: CRYBABY SISSY TIDUS. 😄

This is what I'm afraid of for a CT remake. I can respect the artists hard work on this (looks very faithful to Octopath) but I HATE the Octopath visual style. It takes the bright, colorful, crisp feel of 16-bit era games and just makes them look dark, blurry, muddy, and washed out. The only way I can describe this style is that it looks like the game was rolled through the mud and sat in a hot trash bin for a few days.
I know I'm being a hater and am in the minority on this, but CT is one of my favorite games of all time and I would be so sad if this happened to it.
The DQ3 HD 2D looked a lot better though (brighter and clearer) so I know it can be done right!

I cannot properly convey my emotions on this. For me its the game to end all games. If this remake happens and it doesn't blow chunks like FF7R, I can die happy. I could never play a game again and be satisfied.

FF9 is my favorite game of all time. Not only is it objectively amazing but the nostalgia and personal meaning it has for me makes it special beyond words.
And the fact that most are claiming its more of a Crisis Core style remake without changing the core game gets me excited to no end. That's exactly what I'd want. The less they change, the better. (Can you swap Tetra Master for Triple Triad though? Lol)
If/when this gets announced I will ugly cry like a 10 year old girl and pre-order the most expensive version they have before the trailer is over.

With my disappointment in 16 trying to be Game of Thrones and discarding the lighthearted spirit of adventure (which defines FF for me) this remake is exactly what I would need.

Looks like stupid fun. I'm in.

Love the PS1 original but not enough to buy it with the two others. Didn't care for the series after 1.

This was the one and only highlight of the showcase. With the recent confirmation that FF16 has enormous amounts of F-bombs, sex and gore, Granblue is now the new FF16 for me.

@Sanquine RIGHT?? I was fully expecting Astrobot on VR2 to be shown here and didn't feel that was a tall order. Truly terrible.

That was SOOOOOO bad. Granblue Fantasy Relink was the only good thing in there for me personally with maybe two other eyebrow raisers.
Personal tastes aside...I am objectively really concerned about Playstation now. If this is all thier 2023 has to offer...OUCH. what is going on over there??

Most of the stuff people are predicting I don't care about like Last of Us, Spiderman, etc. What I want is Granblue Fantasy Relink, Astrobot on VR2, and Stellar Blade.

I've pretty much checked out of the series at this point anyway, sadly so whatever. I've had 16 pre-ordered forever but I may cancel it with the recent confirmation that its absolutely filled with F-bombs, gore, and nudity. I know most don't care about all that stuff but that's just not my cup of tea and isn't the FF that made me who I am today.

I couldn't care less about most things on this list. Haha. All I want:

• Astrobot (port or sequel) for PSVR2
• Stellar Blade
• Granblue Fantasy Relink
• Any other AAA PSVR2 titles

@R_Ryder Yeah you can have a blast alone too though its at its best if you can play with at least 1 other friend.

Definitely one of the top 3 games on Quest, if not the very best. Its INSANLY good. Even though I bought all the DLC on Quest, I'll be double dipping for sure for the improved FOV and hopefully improved graphics.

@Neonix 100% agree. Haven't played the DLC yet (almost done with FF6 Pixel Remaster first) but had this pre-ordered for a while. I'll see how it feels but if its all in your face and front and center in Horizon 3, I'll also be sadly checking out of this amazing series prematurely. I won't support agenda pushing. This is the trending checkbox right now and not only does it go against my values, but it just straight up pulls you out of the narrative and ruins the immersion imho.

@somnambulance I'm in the exact same boat. Mainly FF16 and was kinda interested in SF6 but after the demo I was like 'maybe I'm good with just that'. Haha

I really appreciate your civil insights and watched with fascination as the same thing happened that always happens: people start screaming for inclusivity while rejecting all other ideas. The very thing you pointed out several times. Hypocrisy at its finest.
And as a traditional value Christian I can attest to your argument. I've missed SO many cool-looking AAA games because society no longer "includes" people with traditional standards. The irony is uncanny. Haha.
Having said that...I'll wait and see what Horizon 3 ends up offering but I'm likely exiting the series over this. You hit the nail right on the head. It broke the promise to the player set in Horizon 1 and forced a character onto me I dont want to follow. I hope all who dont mind enjoy the game but I dont need it in my life or in my house.

One of the best games of all time. Things like Burning Shores and Advance Wars took a back seat so I could play through this again first. Haha

I'm sure the DLC is great (I bought it but haven't played it yet) but I'm praying to all that is holy that this review bombing incident makes them reconsider the direction they took. Hoping they shoehorned this stuff into the optional DLC to tick that mandatory box and be done with it. If Horizon 3 makes this stuff front and center, I'll be very sadly exiting the series. I respect everyone's opinion on the matter but personally am very disappointed.

The killer app is Resident Evil 8. Those saying there is no killer app have not played that yet. Call of the Mountain was also amazing though.

I'm with everyone else commenting so far. The VR2 has been the most exciting gaming related thing since the Switch launched. The quality is insane and worth every penny. Got 7 VR2 games at launch and none of them disappointed. RE8, CotM, Kayak, Demeo, Moss 1, Moss 2 and No Man's Sky.

Now just give me a port of Rescue Mission and I can die happy.

Even though the backlog was 100% clear just in January, I'm already drowning in games. Almost done with Wild Arms 2 then I need to get Legend of Dragoon done before Horizon DLC and FF6 Pixel Remaster drop this month. Still have some VR2 games I didn't get to yet as well.
