Was looking forward to it for years but the demo put me off to it big time.

It was all about Stellar Blade for me. Unpopular opinion: I think Kojima is a bad storyteller. MGS1 was incredible and he caught lightning in a bottle but everything after that has just been out of control weird and convoluted just for the sake of being different. I feel like his games would be much better if he had an editor come in and cut his first drafts to pieces. Anyway, just my opinion.

I was really excited for this game but after playing the demo I wasn't feeling it at all. 😒

@TheEnygma I'm right there with you! FF7R is gonna be great but I know all the changes they made to the story will tick me off so Stellar Blade has got me more excited! Haha

So pumped! Hopefully since it was originally set for 2023, the release won't be too far off.

Stellar Blade is one of my most highly anticipated games! Aside from that I am just praying for something- ANYTHING good for PSVR2. C'mon Sony, give me that Astrobot Rescue Mission port! Or show me you know the VR2 exists at all!
My pie in the sky announcement is that FF9 remake but I'd say thats farfetched this close to FF7R.

At this point in just happy to hear it still exists.

Yeah...I dont believe that for one second. Aerith will live somehow. Remake jacked up the story in countless ways but one of its biggest no-nos was breaking one of the cardinal rules of writing: when a character dies, they must stay dead or thier death becomes a cheap thrill rather than an impactful moment.

Oh no! Poor Wedge died with his big dreams and lovable personality! Nah, he impossibly survived for no reason.
Awww...Biggs died in the name of freedom. Nah, he's alive because Kingdom Hearts timeliness.
Wow...Zack gave himself up like a true hero would...fighting to the end. Nah, he's actually a playable character now.
Whooooa, they killed Barret?? Nah, sike! Gotcha!

Don't get me wrong...I LOVE FF7. But I think the PS1s limitations forced Nomura to keep his stupid ideas in check. I may be in the minority here and I really hate to be "that guy"... but the dude is a terrible writer. After getting burned so badly by Remake, I've been putting it this way: I've never been so excited to play a game I'm gonna hate so badly. Lol.

I've just mentally prepared to really enjoy the faithful stuff and pretend its what it should have been and get through the inevitable dumb changes as quick as possible.

@Art_Vandelay I agree. I recently went to one of those "cutting edge" VR experience stores where they have you pay $60 per head to go through a level with team mates in full body tracking. It was fun but I got a look into just how incredibly high end the VR2 is. It was shocking how much better my experience was at home with RE8 than that.

Just bought this on the Black Friday sale knowing the VR mode was coming at some point. SO HYPED. I only played through the OG once about 10 years ago so I've forgotten most of it and wanted to go into the remake cold.
This was my cousin's (one of my best friends) favorite game of all time and he passed away suddenly 2 weeks ago so he was never able to play this mode. Was looking forward to exchanging hype with him but alas...My playthrough is dedicated to him. THIS IS FOR YOU, STEVE! LETS GOOOOOO!!!

On another note, so grateful for Capcom and thier PSVR2 support since clearly Sony hates the dang thing.

Its been on Quest 2 for a while. Its pretty fun and translates well!

@Toot1st Dude I know. Like 90% of Remake was amazing and then BAM that last chapter was like Plot ghosts! Barret dies then doesn't! Alternate timelines! Multiple Sephiroths! Fighting destiny itself! Biggs is alive! Jessie's probably alive! Cloud is Sora! The player is actually Thanos! Like......WTF!?!?!? Just let me have my FF7 without that multiverse trash! Ugh.....

After what Remake did to the story I was totally checked out of this series. But ever since that State of Play trailer I've gone from a hard NO to pre-ordered and staring at my calendar until its February 29th. SO hyped! Its looks too good to be true. I'm bracing myself for the dumb story changes this time though and will just be content on enjoying the exploration and combat while pretending its the OG story.

Makes sense to me. As long as I can still play as babygirl Tifa, I dont care. Haha

NO WAY! Massive LotR fan here. Unless this turns out to be absolutely trash, I'm in day 1 even knowing nothing about it. Sounds amazing! I can't believe Weta is making a game!

@Luigia That's actually a great point because Nintendo always said Switch straight up isn't Bluetooth compatible but we knew it was in there because that's how joycons work. One day they just switched it on (no pun intended). With Portal we KNOW it has Bluetooth capabilities from the get go because its compatible with thier specific headphones. So I'm sure they could open up that door whenever they want to.
Either way it doesn't matter to me because I have the pulse headphones already.

@NathanUC Gotcha. Yeah, this is a wait and see kinda thing for me. The value I think greatly depends on individual circumstance. For some this is totally useless and for others a lifesaver. I'm kinda somewhere in the middle.

This is something I really don't need. But I still kinda want it...its confirmed you can play anywhere in the world with a good wifi signal right??

@XenonKnight You know, honestly? I'm not 100% sure whats pulling me toward this so much. I think more than anything is I love the art style. Its the cliche anime RPG but to me looks different somehow. Plus it literally looks like a more fun, more vibrant, more family friendly version of FF16 which is what I wanted. Haha

In my top 3 most anticipated games for sure. This is everything I wanted the letdown FF16 to be and more.
FF7 Rebirth looks pretty cool but it can sit the frik down if this comes out around the same time.

I'm really sad I missed this! I never tune into these because usually they're pretty lame but it sounds like it was better than most recent E3 showcases and for sure better than the last couple State of Plays!

Haha I KNEW it was fishy when they were singing its praises. I respect all who enjoyed the game but I canceled my preorder after I played the demo. What was he expecting when he made a Final Fantasy that wasn't a Final Fantasy at all? Now if the FF9 remake is actually faithful, all we need to do to restore order is buy the heck out of it. I'll buy 20 copies myself if it meant healing the series.

I've been curious at looking at this again (first tried it at its PS4 launch) but heard it doesn't let you delete your save and start over. Is that true?

Still one of the best games on PS5.
