Not a fan of boss rush modes but I'll take it! I'm playing through the game for the first time right now and just got to what I believe is the last area. Really enjoying it!

Let's be gettin that photo mode in here, pronto. How a game like this launched without it makes my head spin.

The FF series was what I grew up on and changed my life. But it died after 9 and has been dead and buried for me for a LONG time. With a few decent exceptions (XII, 7R, 7RB) every game since 9 has gotten worse I think. Remake was way too divisive and should have just stuck with the original story. That being said, 90% of Rebirth was everything fans ever wanted so I'm shocked its underperforming.

I think XBox is on a crash course to go the way of Sega and dissolve into just a game developer. All the signs are there and honestly I would love that. Hoping the current XBox is the last machine we see.

The fact that we are in 2024 and these reports don't include digital sales is whack. The reports are basically moot. Digital sales are a substantial part of the picture these days.

I cannot freaking wait to play this! It's been bought and sitting on my home screen since day 1 but I have to focus and beat Dragons Dogma 2 first!

I assumed the Aerith death scene would be different so I was already prepped for that. I honestly don't even super hate what happened as she did still die (which I'm SO grateful for from a narrative standpoint). My issue is the WAY it was executed. I get the logic behind showing it from Cloud's deranged perspective and seeing his broken brain invent a reality that she's still alive even though she clearly isn't. That whole leaning into his psychosis is cool...but it just robs the most famous scene in RPG history of any emotional impact. It would have been better I think to have had it play out just like the OG, then backtrack after the final battle to see how Cloud perceived it as the twist into the ending.
Ultimately though, I'm convinced in game 3 when Cloud gets his head set straight we will see the death and water burial scene as it actually happened.

I can't think of a single XBox game I'd want to play. Haha.

@Nexozi I have an extremely similar setup and it works great everywhere in my 3 story house. I even brought it with me to my little brothers apartment about an hour from home and he has crap basic internet and it somehow worked even better there! I was even able to play a few rounds of Fortnite with ease which requires good, stable connection!

Everyone's lifestyle is different so whether or not you should get it depends on a lot of factors but its been glorious for me!

LOVE my Portal. I only wish it had the ability to open a web page which some wifi networks require in order to connect.

Good. Maybe this means they will stop dumping money into trash live service and and mobile game stuff and get that FF9 remake to me.

Cannot wait to play this thing but Dragons Dogma 2 has me nailed down!

As a die hard LotR fan...I'm very interested despite the janky overall look.
If there is some kind of multi-player, especially cross platform, this will be a must-buy for me and my kids!

I've been hearing this news for a while now which is honestly quite baffling as Rebirth is easily 10x better than Remake in every way possible. Controversial plot elements aside, the game is nothing short of astounding and as far as remakes go, almost impossible. The love and care and attention to detail is almost incomprehensible.

The fact that it seems to be underperforming is deeply worrying since it might further justify devs in taking shortcuts, funding more live service garbage, microtransactions, etc. I fear its sending them a message that dumping money into passion projects that truly have heart and meaning is a waste of resources.

I have no idea why this would not be selling well. My only guess is people lost faith in the storytelling after seeing what they did with Remake? The old school fans like myself were jaded because the story went off the rails full Nomura style while newcomers were confused for the same reason? I'm not sure...

Either way...its the best thing to come out of SE in recent memory. It truly captured the adventurous spirit of a PS1 era RPG.
Now let's have that faithful FF9 remake and have it sell gangbusters and send THAT message to them. We want old school back which would cost them half the money. 😄

Noticed the update but didn't notice much difference. But then again I never thought it was that bad. Haha. I'll have to pay closer attention and see.

Very excited and have been since announcement! Performance was not mentioned though so I'm praying it can handle a steady 60fps. Also praying its not too hard. I despise the Souls games that take pleasure in torturing players.
Regardless...bring on Friday! Sheesh! Still not done with FF7R and still need to hit up Dragons Dogma 2!

Glad I still have a ways to go on FF7. By the time I get to Dogma things should be looking better.

Sweet! I'm in Gongaga right now so there is still time to enjoy the enhancements. Though I have to say, I've hardly noticed any graphical blips since the games story and gameplay shine brightly through it. Been playing in performance mode only and its been nearly perfect. For those waiting for a PC version or sale, just know you're missing one of the best games of the last decade for pretty much no reason. This is absolutely a non issue that is completely blown out of proportion. I can't believe we live in a generation where people will blacklist an instant classic game because a rock looks little blurry here and there. Call me old fashioned...but I just like to enjoy games for the fun they offer.

I've been saying this game looked off since day 1. Something about the trailer screamed "poor man's Tsushima". Seems I was right.

Maybe people would be buying it if you f-ing supported the damg thing even a little bit! There have been exactly TWO big games for it since launch and both came from Capcom. Absolutely ridiculous.

With all the dumb changes to the story I've been saying "I've never been more excited to play a game that will make me so mad". Lol

Was hoping for a day 1 patch for this crap. Lol. Doubt it will bother me too much but this does seem downright inexcusable, especially when they took the time to highlight its high resolution assets in the State of Play. What is "next gen" even for if we can't get stuff like this right?

Yeah, I like the OG line much better. I could be wrong but I thought it was a reference to a convo earlier in the game. Doesn't she say something about the steel sky being oppressive or somehow a negatively affecting people? Then once she leaves it she realizes it brought her comfort and alluded to the unknown ahead being something she's never experienced before.

I dunno. I thought the OG line was way deeper.

If only Switchback VR would have been better at launch as early reviews killed it. A Rush of Blood VR2 port would have been a day 1 for me as well.

I love how Sony is sad that a platform they chose not to develop for AT ALL isn't making money. Lol. It should have 3 or 4 big first party titles by now.

Sounds like its as I expected: the good is better and the bad is worse. Super sad about the visual quality. Praying there is a day one patch to address it

An 8 remake will NEVER happen but man I would love it. Its one of my favorites of all time. I personally liked the Junction system but I wouldn't care if they switched it up either tbh.

I think part of the reason eastern games thrive as opposed to western games is they largely regent woke culture and agenda-driven narratives in thier stories and characters.
