We highly, highly recommend Pixel Ripped 1978 for PSVR2 – but if you’re in the mood for some more fourth wall breaking, then know that predecessor Pixel Ripped 1995 is also getting ported to Sony’s new-gen headset. This follows the same format as its latest, Atari-backed instalment, as you play 16-bit cartridges in your bedroom and eventually get sucked into the games themselves.

“The game has been enhanced and improved for its PSVR2 debut,” explained creative director Ana Ribeiro, “leaving the constraints of 60fps behind to let you enjoy 120fps power, while you’ll feel more immersed thanks to the PSVR2 Sense controller adaptive triggers and PSVR2 headset feedback. The game will release on PSVR2 in the near future.”

There’s no date beyond a vague “coming soon”, but that’ll give you plenty of time to play through the latest instalment first. Speaking of which, if you’d like to read our Pixel Ripped 1978 PSVR2 review, you can find that through the link.
