Yes, as long as it's not the weird bendy armed bad art design that is usually the case with games at the start of a generation. That really irks me, environment looks great but character design always looks 2 generations old. I don't know if developers get told to tone things down and pace things out across a consoles lifespan or not, but normally the first few games look pretty bad.

I know it's greedy to want it to do everything, but that's what made the original batch of PS3s so great. They played CDs/DVDs/BDs and PSX/2/3 games, that was exactly what I wanted, and also why I was so disappointed with PS4.
Ideal solution - in my mind - would be the equivalent now for PS5 whilst also supporting Now and the various digital options for people who don't like to retain physical media, best of both worlds.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying though, you're pretty much pinning down a lot of stuff people have missed about the story.

Fun game but watch out for bugs, had to replay it 3 times for the platinum.
Excellent freebie though!

Have to say I had exactly zero interest in the game until seeing that.
Efficient fighting, flicking blood off the sword, Japanese language option and b/w filter shows they've been taking this seriously, and it still feels like a Sucker Punch game. Definitely getting this day one.

How about both, a CGI intro then gameplay finishing with CGI, or if there's an especially impresive bit of game play...that.

Medium is probably the most interesting, but Soul Reaver did the zip between versions of the world on PSX, can't see anything there that couldn't be done by current gen games. Not particularly impressed I'm sad to say.

I don't understand, why do you all like it? Squenix seem to have tried....for a bit. It was ok until it got to seventh heaven. Then all that typical Squenix filler stuff.
Has no one else noticed they relegated the original music to random areas? Or those stupid remixes. The rest, the awful composer from FFXIII? The expanded stuff? Embarrassing. That Speed Demon character, exactly what's been so bad about FF games since FFXII!
Admittedly, I'm not far in but I don't think it'll get better.

No Final Fantasy VII Remake this weekend thanks to Amazon's policy of fulfilling new preorders before ones made years ago.
So playing Grim Fandango Remastered instead.

They've been making a few errors lately.
One in particular, I preordered Final Fantasy VII Remake in April 2016 and they changed the date to 14/04/20 max delivery time of 8pm. While all my friends who lived further away from me to the distribution centre got their copies early despite only preordering one month ago, Amazon at 6pm yesterday changed the arrival date to 24/04/20. Presumably as they'd given all their stock out to customers paying full price.
No honour whatsoever and all they said was "You can feel free to cancel your preorder". It's sold out everywhere here.
I'll think twice about buying from them again.

Just to hijack a popular thread - sorry in advance. I preordered FFVII Remake from Amazon back in 2016, and friends I know who are further away from the distribution centre and only pre-ordered it a month ago got it last week, even as early as last Monday. Amazon changed the arrival date to max 8pm 14/04/20 then at 6pm yesterday changed it again to 24/04/20 after I spent the day waiting for it.
Has anyone else had similar problems?

Very commendable, I already have them but have let other people know about it, so they can benefit.

Just wondering if the 'V' shape might make it into the final retail version and could be a platform for wireless charging for Dualsense controllers or even the PSVR2 headset to sit on.

I've had it pre-ordered with Amazon since 2016 and have been told next Tuesday.
Yet everyone else I know who pre-ordered from them have received their copies early.

I like some of the tech IN it, but it's ugly, yet again like other consoles another step towards replicating the Xbox style of controller, what happened to diversity? Not everyone wants a clunky lump.
Plus worst of all it probably means the console will look as bad too.

I have an active subscription, love the magazine, but hate the silly decals, coasters and posters, wish they brought the demo discs back, it would be cool if they could get exclusive demo's not available on the PlayStation Store. Never gonna happen though. But I hope they keep going regardless.

I know a friend of mine has received Final Fantasy VII Remake early, I'm raging, he's not even playing it, still on The Witcher 3

Must have glitched for me, the space looked empty. That's disappointing, would have preferred a comparible number.

So only thing confirmed SSD, 3d audio and PS4 compatibility, no Terraflop number, waste of time. Glad I was sent home from work and didn't take the day off.

Ideally...a modern day version of the PS3/4 combined, has all physical and digital options there to cater for all tastes. Wouldn't even mind if you had to pay a bit extra to access physical media capabilities.

I'm guessing one a year for 3 years.

I haven't bought a PS4 pro and extremely unlikely to at this point.
But with the option of paying a bit extra for a ps5 and to get a PS4 pro in the interim, with all repairs covered, I could be persuaded as long as I owned the PS5 with the last payment.

Final Fantasy VIII remaster on the PS4 (somehow I keep finding myself stuck in Timber) and Monster Boy on the Switch as a side game.

Yeah! He said years ago while he was working on Silent Hills, that the concept he was working on could get him thrown out of the industry, I presume that might have been the idea of the 'Still Mothers' and the Bridge Babies....remember Japan is very conservative.

Um...the PlayStation TV plays barely any games of worth, especially if you're not always connected to the internet.
As far as being able to play all games on all legacy platforms, highly unlikely, but if the could get 50-100 high profile games working for each system, it could be somewhat realistic, and be a system seller for a hell of a lot of older gamers.

I'll never get to play this game...every time I'm about to, a new update gets announced which I feel I have to wait for

Give it time, who knows, they might release a physical collection of the 3 PSX games after the first part of the FFVII remake, like they did with the Nintendo games. I'd definitely buy them all again as would many others I'd guess.

Love this game and its characters, and was always surprised about how much hate it has had in recent years. Esp with the stupid 'emo' tag attributed to Squall. It will be interesting to see if the rerelease improves it's reputation. That said I was never a fan of junctioning, and the wrapping up of the plot was messy, but as a whole the game was great. I have next week off work to play it and can't wait.

I didn't re-subscribe after the first year, If I'd felt there was a month since then that would have been worth it I would have, but it's been pretty terrible for anyone who only has it for the games, doesn't play online multiplayer or otherwise buy or play digital games.
