Update: Well, it looks like some of us will be able to sleep a little easier at night now. It turns out that the Official Xbox Magazine actually misreported this, mistaking the room they were in for a safe room. Capcom has now confirmed that Nemesis will not be able to break into safe rooms -- designated by the ambient, classic music you'll hear upon entering.
Original story: Just when you thought Nemesis couldn't get any scarier, it has now been confirmed that the terrifying Tyrant will be able to enter safe rooms in Resident Evil 3. Yes, you read that correctly, the S.T.A.R.S. stalker will be the first enemy in franchise history able to enter the traditionally relaxing areas where Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine would usually take a breather.
The news is sourced from the latest issue of the Official Xbox Magazine, where a slew of new details have been revealed. Spiders are confirmed to be in the game, Nemesis drops rare items if you manage to beat him in battle, and unique animations are tied to performing perfect dodges. What's more, the subway station will act as a way of fast travelling about Raccoon City, Carlos will be playable but won't have his own campaign, and completely new enemies are hinted at.
We cannot wait to get our hands on the full experience after a recent preview session shot our anticipation through the roof, and these intriguing new details aren't helping. Just imagine making it back to a safe room with a single Ink Ribbon left in your inventory, only for Nemesis to come along and kill you before you have chance to interact with the typewriter. That Tyrant really is going to be scarier than ever, isn't it?

wait he can enter safe rooms?
then how are they safe rooms?
"Spiders are confirmed to be in the game..."
Oh no. OH NO.
@FullbringIchigo They arw now 'unsafe' rooms lol
This game is started to sound as stressful as Alien Isolation - and I want it!
Actually, I still need to get Resident Evil 2, too.
Mr. X could enter the main hall in the RE2 Remake which also contained a typewriter, so not technically the first in franchise history?
unsafe rooms
@Broosh We still had designated areas that Mr. X, or any enemy, couldn't enter no matter what.
GAME OVER MAN GAME OVER
I'm both excited for and dreading this game. Sounds like they have made Nemesis harder in quite a few ways (that overtake leap!), hopefully Jill has a few tricks to keep things balanced.
I seem to recall a crap my pants moment involving Nemesis in the original RE 3...being just outside the save room after Carlos gets a cure for Jill or around when she's incapacitated? Just hope the odds aren't too stacked in Nemesis favour!
I actually asked that on a yt comment so glad to know! Would have broken immersion if he had to wait outside again whilst Jill gets ready. "Are you nearly done yet? I'm eager to kill you.". Also reminds me if that Rick and Morty epis9de with Freddy Krueger. XD
Thanks for the spoiler.
Sounds very good. I hope they really add some new cool enemies.
@Deadlyblack For sure, it's just there was that one 'safe' spot which became unsafe later. But the other save rooms were still safe.
As long as they make the now Dangerous Rooms larger for us to run around when Nemesis shows up, fine. But I gotta say, being chased everywhere is my least favorite part of RE2, I hope they find a balance that allow us to explore our surroundings instead of simply running like there is no tomorrow.
Going all out with Nemesis. I suppose the next thing he will do is come after you when the game is paused.
Any chance of them patching that into Resident Evil 2 for Mr X to do the same? That'd be fun
Nah, that’s no good.
OMG MAN 😱 nowhere is safe
What if you save the game exactly when he enters and yo get killed??

This is sounding better than RE2.
It's gonna be pure Benny Hill legging around the save table in those safe rooms.
The spiders being the "drain deimos" that were in the original then
I Think The Only Ways I See To Get Around This Is To Give Him The Slip And Double Back To The Save Room Defeat Him And Then Enter The Save Room Or Simply Don't Let Him See You Enter The Room. One Thing They Should Bring Back From The Original Is The Dreadful Music That Would Play When Nemesis Was Right Outside The save Room
might want to update the article guys.

Luckily it was misreported that nemesis can enter safe rooms but capcom clarified that he in fact can’t enter safe rooms
Updated.
@Rick_Deckard presumably his location isn't saved, I don't think Mr X's was
Booooooooooooooooooooooooo
What a boomer...
I guess was too good to be true.
Hahaha, I’ll rest a wee bit easier at least!
Thanks for giving me a good reason to not buy this game! I couldn’t beat Bloodborne because of the spiders.
Everything is back where it belongs. Now I can safely trust the Almighty Typewriter again.
Edit: Ok, it seems Nemesis can and will show up in areas with typewriter, so they're no longer almighty. Instead, we shall glorify the Greatness of the Rooms With Elevator Music.
You brought this on yourself, Liam.
clears throat
Oh, man ...
Oh, God, oh man ...
Oh, God, oh man, oh God, oh man, oh God oh Man oh GOD!
The article says that the guy thought he could go in save rooms because of the presence of a type writer. I remember there was one or 2 in the OG games that were also in areas where enemies appeared or Nemesis could enter.
@Nickolaidas I'm glad someone got it!
I effin hate spiders.
I wish Capcom would focus on making a second dragons dogma instead of remaking these games
@ILikeStake Why not both?
Typical xboxers lol cant even identify a classic safe room. I am relieved to hear it's not true
Thank god, I can get the game now.
That was putting my scaredy cat ass off lmao.
