New Red Dead Redemption 2 previews are hitting the 'net, and one of the biggest points many of them make is that the game can be played entirely in first-person, much like Grand Theft Auto V on PlayStation 4.
That's right, you can switch to the eyes of main character Arthur Morgan at any time during gameplay, perhaps for a more... Visceral experience. Apparently playing in first-person lets you see detailed gun reload animations, so Rockstar clearly isn't half-arsing it as an option.
Think you'll be giving first-person a shot in Red Dead Redemption 2? Aim down the sights in the comments section below.

i'll give it a shot for sure but not for the entire playtrough though.
Since you're already doing this, Rockstar, how about a PSVR mode eh?
Pre-Ordered this today
With all the options in beautiful clothing and vehicles in GTAV, I find it hard playing in first person.
no thank, hate first person view on games. i alway stick with best 3rd person on games
@Turismo4GT hell no !!!!!!
I found the 1st person view in GTA5 really immersive and exciting, particularly when being chased on foot by the coppers. But equally, I found it very much harder to actually play, particularly in driving and shoot-outs. I suppose that will make RDD2 last longer for me of course..
@porhawj2016 fair enough, to each his own. I doubt they'll do that anyway.
Will use it for poker but that's it.
Not interested in first person at all but it's great they give players the choice. A shame some gamers don't support the idea of choice when it's obviously a requested feature but some devs get the 'it's our vision' attitude
I'm of course alluding to the other way round and add third person view on a first person game
Just hope its smoother than gtav. That was cool but kind of unusable imo due to how herky jerky it was.
Hope theyve revamped it from ground up to actually feel nice like a fps
Much like in GTA I will probably try it for a bit out of curiosity but ultimately play in third as usual. I wonder how much bobbing up and down there will be when horse riding?
I only ever use first person view when there is no other option.
imo the first person in gta was half to way making it a whole new game, this will be fantastic for replayability
I only liked the first person perspective for driving in GTAV. Riding a motorbike in first person was a little scary, especially if you came off it.
For me gta5 just does not feel good in fp. The camera and character movement feel too bouncy and twitchy. Maybe fp will feel smoother in RDR2 since it is featured from the start and not an add on like in Gta5.
In a perfect world all games would offer a camera view choice like featured in Fallout and Elder Scroll games. That is where fp is offered along with a 3rd person view that can be zoomed close or far. Also all settings have smooth character movement.
@NoCode23 I'm sure you can turn off the head bob/camera shake movements in the options.
@Turismo4GT i used PS VR once on one game at Gamestop and hate it so far because it give me motion sickness so no thank
@porhawj2016 fair enough, it's not for everyone.
@porhawj2016 Same here. First person just looks so unrealistic in every game.
@ApostateMage I experimented with all of the first person settings in Gta 5 and it never felt smooth and natural to me. Not like Far Cry, Borderlands, and Fallout/Skyrim where fp feels natural to me.
Overall it is just what we each prefer and or what does not make us sick.
@Rash PS VR give me motion sickness on games.. some games in first person also give me motion sickness too
@porhawj2016 I don't get motion sickness, I just don't find first person ever looking great even in PS VR. Holding weapons, running and interaction just seems a step back. Just not immersive enough.
@Rash and character wear many types of costumes
This game gives much pleasure and sources to play well. In this regard grademiners.com review are more common in presenting the reviews by the experienced people.
