Re: Directive 8020 (PS5) - Dull Sci-Fi Thriller Is a Supermassive Letdown

I do enjoy the Dark Pictures games, but it also feels like none of them have quite managed to reach the level of Until Dawn. Some are certainly better than others.

Directive 8020 hasn't captivated me yet from the trailers and overall setting. Space horror in general doesn't interest me as much as murder mansions and death traps like what The Devil in Me had. So I'll probably hold off on a sale for Directive 8020.

Mafia 2. I've finished the base game and got the platinum trophy, so now I'm checking out the DLC expansions. Also playing Shuten Order. I've reached an ending of it, but I just want to go back and do something I missed. And also Xenoblade Chronicles 2. After a bit of a hiatus, I managed to get unstuck on it yesterday, so I'll be carrying on with that.

Re: New Lord of the Rings Game Comes from Tomb Raider Dev, It's Claimed

I'll join in with the LotR: The Third Age praise. It was an odd narrative, focusing on an Aldi Fellowship following behind the main fellowship, but the game was a lot of fun.

It would be cool to have a great new LotR game. The recent examples of Tales of the Shire and Gollum don't fill me with much hope, but perhaps they'll prove me wrong.

Re: Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition Is Real, and It Launches Tomorrow on PS5

Seems that my excitement was a bit premature. Now it's out, it appears that they've changed the original music, and it's getting plenty of negative reviews on Steam.

That's a real shame. A Definitive collection should have fixed the OST issues that some older versions had. Instead, it seems to have gotten much worse.

The game went from an easy buy to an avoid for me.

Re: New PlayStation Patent Could Let You Put Controller Buttons Where You Want

crimsontadpoles

Sounds terrible. Buttons have some big advantages, mainly the tactile feedback and being able to feel where each button is. Touchscreen gaming is a thing (mobile), but that works because the user is already looking at the screen. I don't want to be looking down at the controller when playing on my TV. Outside of some niche uses, I can't see a reason to get this.

Of course, it's just a patent, so it's likely nothing will come of this.

Re: Sony's Sending Messages to PS4 Players Encouraging Them to Upgrade to PS5

It doesn't seem like a perfect time. A more perfecter time would have been the last time it was on sale (Black Friday?). Or at this point, waiting for a PS6 is a viable option for those that haven't yet got a PS5.

Though, having said that, my PS4 is showing signs of it's age. Likewise, my PC is getting old now too (very bad time for upgrading PC parts with the current prices). Probably should upgrade one of those at some point.

Re: PS1 Classic Rayman Looks Set for 30th Anniversary Release on PS5

A basic remaster would be brilliant. Add in features like difficulty options (I wouldn't tone down the difficulty, but I'll admit some people might might struggle with this game), fix the music (some versions didn't have the per-level tracks), and add the extra Rayman Designer bonus campaign, then it would be a great remaster.

Re: 40+ PS5 Games to Play in 2026

There's a few on there I'm quite excited for, with GTA 6, 007, and Lego Batman being the biggest ones. There's probably a few more that I could become interested in as they get closer to their release date.

Missing from the list, but I hope Danganronpa 2x2 lives up to the standards of the previous games.
