I'm hoping that statement was just a clunky way of saying that they're going to avoid censorship in this game, but them stirring up the culture wars isn't a good look.
I'm probably going to enjoy this based on what I've been reading, plus I was very fond of the original game. However, the lack of reviews so far is making me a bit cautious.
@Gravytrain From what I've played of it so far, it's been great other than a few minor nitpicks. In terms of difficulty, there's some challenge to it, but it's not been overly frustrating yet. If you fail in battle, you can just retry the current wave, so it's fairly forgiving. Plus, you can freely switch it between regular difficulty and easy mode if you wanted.
I'm not too fussed by the delay. Being this far from release, and with only that one trailer, I'm not too hyped yet. Once it actually releases, I'll surely be signing a different tune.
I've come this far into the generation without a PS5. At this point, it doesn't really feel worth getting one this late into the generation. I'll probably keep with my PS4 and my current PC until I get around to upgrading my PC.
For me, the big draw of consoles was always the exclusives. But other than Nintendo, everything now pretty much comes to PC eventually. Plus, there's less of the weird and wonderful AA games that used to pad out Sony's release schedule.
Up to 40x30 puzzles according to the game's description. Nice to see some larger puzzle sizes here. I played a bit of the older Nintendo 3DS games, and I think that only capped out at 15x15 sizes.
I've been getting more selective about which games I buy at launch. Further price rises will just increase that, and I'll be waiting for the sales more often.
I've hit that old limit. I generally just add anything that I'm remotely interested in, even though it's unlikely I'll get to play the majority of games on my list.
Yakuza 5. Even though I've already played through Yakuza 0-4, it's great to see that Yakuza 5 is still finding ways to mix things up and offer surprises.
I've played lots of the previous games, but I'm feeling burnt out from the series. Plus, I'm still on PS4, and it won't run on my PC, so I'd need to upgrade something before I could play it.
I'll see how things are once the inevitable Iceborne/Sunbreak style expansion releases. Perhaps I'll come around to the game by then.
I'm certainly interested in playing this. Not every Yakuza games needs to be completely off the rails, but a Majima pirate game is the right way to do a weirder entry.
The only thing stopping me from playing it immediately is that I'm still behind on the series, and playing the earlier games.
I'd be down for a sequel. One thing I'd like to see is for it to have a bigger focus on the activities inside the castle, such as attending classes, interacting with other students, and more in-depth side quests.
Would be great to see a re-release of the original Sims 1&2. They're currently delisted, and last I checked it was quite fiddly to get it running with the various expansions. If they release a complete package with all the expansions to modern hardware, then I'd be eager to buy it.
I doubt they're going to touch the alternate PS2 ports and spin-offs, but I had an absolute blast with The Sims Bustin' Out back in the day.
It would be great to see a Broken Sword 2 remaster. I get why Broken Sword 1 is the fan-favourite, but Broken Sword 2 is my personal favourite of the series. 2 has a lot of varied and interesting locations, and memorable moments.
That number does seem unbelievably high, but I'm glad it's been a big success for them. I've had a blast with the modern trilogy, and still playing it (I've been really into the Freelancer mode lately).
Nope. Too late for me, plus the awards are often questionable, and I don't really care for awards shows. I'll catch up on any interesting announcements the next day.
I'll watch streams fairly frequently, often in the background whilst doing other things such as playing games. I choose streams based on which streamers I find entertaining rather than which games they're playing.
I don't agree with the suggestions about publishers "ceding significant revenue opportunities" or that they can "bring video content inside their own ecosystems". People are going to watch on wherever their favourite streamers are, such as Youtube or Twitch. Publishers are going to struggle to entice people into watching video content in their own ecosystems.
It's been a while since I stopped using X, as the feed was getting rather bad. It was bringing up more and more controversial topics instead of things that I'm actually interested in.
I haven't yet tried Bluesky. Can't say I'm in any rush to give it a go.
Edgerunners was great, though naturally that was down to Studio Trigger. It sounds as if this new show will be something separate, perhaps with a different studio, so I'll have to wait and see if it's any good or not.
His removal in Hitman isn't surprising given the court decision. I wonder what will happen to those that bought the DLC pack. It would be nice if IOI could keep his mission, but just switch out his character for a generic wrestler NPC.
Fair enough. I usually select the gibberish Monster Hunter Language when playing this series, so I'd be uncomfortable if the humans started using human speech.
Hopefully it'll be brilliant. My one concern is that they might stick too close to the Hitman formula. Bond and Agent 47 are different people, and have different ways of resolving problems. Bond is smoother with the ladies, more reliant on gadgets and fast cars (vehicle missions?), and gets himself into trouble more often. On the other hand, 47 is all about the stealth and remaining undetected whilst in plain sight.
I generally really like Atlus games, but I'm in no rush to get this. It can stay on my wishlist for the moment as there's other games I'm more eager to get.
4 is my absolute favourite of the series, so it's great to see it getting the remaster treatment. 5 was alright, but it was fairly short and forgettable.
Angel of Darkness is a big surprise, I was fully expecting the collection to just be 4 and 5. Being a PS2 game, it differed greatly from the previous games. Plus it was critically panned. I enjoyed it back in the PS2 days, but it certainly has plenty of flaws.
Glad it's reviewing well. I'm interested, but other games are keeping me busy right now, so this may be one for the wishlist. Plus, it's Atlus, so there's always the possibility of it getting a definitive edition or an expansion by the time I get around to playing this.
I sort of agree. There have been various videos about the game, but I've barely clicked on any of them. Looking back at the past articles, the story and character trailers always carry the risk of revealing too much, and the 16 minutes of unedited gameplay video is too long for me to bother watching.
Shorter gameplay trailers would be more useful for me. If they have been doing these, then I've missed them.
I'm still interested in this, along with Professor Layton and Fantasy Life. But with all the delays, it does seem like Level-5 is struggling to actually release games.
Metacritic scores are a useful consideration, but it's not the Holy Grail like some people regard it as. I'll take the scores into account, along with other factors such as gameplay trailers.
PCs have the big advantage of being able to do more than just gaming. Even if I wasn't a gamer, I'd still want a PC of some kind.
I've found myself playing on PC more these days as I'm still on PS4. Though, my PC is starting to get a little old as well. At some point, I'll want to upgrade something. The price point of the PS5 Pro along with concerns that the PS6 might follow suit is making me think a PC upgrade would be the better investment.
I've been enjoying Volume 1 of the collection, and would certainly be up for a Volume 2. MGS4 is the obvious choice to put in it, but I'd also like to see some of the lesser known games like the Acid games.

I'm hoping that statement was just a clunky way of saying that they're going to avoid censorship in this game, but them stirring up the culture wars isn't a good look.
Re: Looks Like There's Going to Be a New Lollipop Chainsaw Game
I did enjoy playing through the remaster (never had the original), but this news is a bit surprising.

Looks promising so far. I'll have to see more gameplay, but initial impressions are great.
Re: Ubisoft Hiring for a 'Prestigious' Big-Budget Rayman Game
A new 2D platformer or better yet a 3D platformer could be brilliant, though I don't have a lot of faith in Ubisoft these days.

I'm enjoying it so far. Hopefully things work out for the developers, as they do seem to be taking a risk with this.

Not yet. I'd barely heard anything about this game until the reviews dropped. The glowing reviews for it took me by surprise.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PS5?
I'd like to play it eventually, but I'm in no rush for it.
Re: Nintendo Exclusive Picross Series Comes to PS4 for the First Time This Month, Sort Of
Up to 40x30 puzzles according to the game's description. Nice to see some larger puzzle sizes here. I played a bit of the older Nintendo 3DS games, and I think that only capped out at 15x15 sizes.

Yakuza 5. Even though I've already played through Yakuza 0-4, it's great to see that Yakuza 5 is still finding ways to mix things up and offer surprises.
Re: Classic Japanese Cards Meet VTubers in New Hololive Game for PS5, PS4
Nice artwork on those cards, but I can never figure out how to play these games in Yakuza.
Re: Activision's 'AI Slop' Strikes Again as Fake Crash Bandicoot, Guitar Hero Games Appear Online
AI along with misleading adverts, not a good look.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Monster Hunter Wilds?

Re: Hobbit Life Sim Tales of the Shire Has Been Delayed Again, Now Out in July
Not a great sign. I'm not optimistic about this game, but I hope to be proven wrong.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii?
I'm certainly interested in playing this. Not every Yakuza games needs to be completely off the rails, but a Majima pirate game is the right way to do a weirder entry.

Re: Pac-Man Has a Secret, to Be Revealed at The Game Awards
Pac-Man World 2 remake would be nice. They did a good job with the remake of the first game. I had a lot of fun with World 2 back in the PS2 days.

Nope. Too late for me, plus the awards are often questionable, and I don't really care for awards shows. I'll catch up on any interesting announcements the next day.

Re: Test Your PlayStation General Knowledge - Issue 30
4/10. The only question I knew for absolute certain was the Tomb Raider one.
Re: Test Your PlayStation General Knowledge - PlayStation Console Special
8/10, probably my best score on one of these quizzes.
Re: Players Made Uncomfortable by Talking Palicoes as Monster Hunter Wilds PS5 Beta Goes Live

I've been meaning to play the original for quite a while now. Guess I'll wait and see whether this remake is a better place to start.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 552
I'm mostly getting started with Master Detective Archives: Rain Code. Along with that, I'm also finishing some of the side content in Yakuza 4.

Re: Until Dawn Is One of Sony's Worst Performing PC Ports to Date
It's a lot of money for what is a relatively short game. No surprises that people are reluctant to pay full price.
Re: Metaphor: ReFantazio (PS5) - Brilliant, Memorable RPG Is One of Atlus' Finest Works
Glad it's reviewing well. I'm interested, but other games are keeping me busy right now, so this may be one for the wishlist. Plus, it's Atlus, so there's always the possibility of it getting a definitive edition or an expansion by the time I get around to playing this.
