One of the adventure genre's forefathers, Broken Sword, is on its way back to PS5.
Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror, the second game in the series, is getting the 'Reforged' treatment, remastering an absolute classic adventure for modern systems.
The project went live on Kickstarter recently, but it took almost no time for developer Revolution Software to achieve its funding goal. In fact, it met its base funding target in less than 15 minutes.
The initial target was £50,000, and the crowdfunding total so far (at the time of writing) sits at £310,967 — and that's with 27 days to go.

"Thank you so much for the extraordinary support that you have given us for this project in such a short time," writes studio co-founder and director Charles Cecil. "It is a huge privilege that you show so much confidence in us. Your passion for our games makes us really proud. We promise to reward you with really great games now and going forward."
Revolution Software has previously brought us Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars Reforged, which was received very well. We expect the follow-up will be of just as high a quality.
It's not clear exactly when the game will be complete, but it should be one worth waiting for.

Yes yes yes!!! My second favourite game of all time ❤️
Have never backed anything apart from these two games so far.
This is great news!
I never finished the 1st game on PSX, and this news just made me want to pick up the PS5 version immediately!
You’re welcome
Great to see that the Kickstarter was such a success. A shame the cheapest physical edition is roughly $135 with the possibility of over $80 shipping.
I'm not criticizing them persee, but that is quite a bit of sticker shock.
@havoc33 was it the goat 😂
Point and click happiness. Played 1 and 2 with ps mouse back on psone. Great times. Just need Discworld return now. 😂
They said on their discord they’re aiming for September for digital release.
