Zero Parades: For Dead Spies now has a confirmed release date. At least, on PC, where it launches on the 21st May.

However, alongside that date, developer ZA/UM has reiterated that the RPG is still on track for a 2026 release on PS5 — it's just going to land a bit later in the year.

In case you haven't been keeping up with Zero Parades, this is the successor to the outstanding Disco Elysium — although calling it such comes with a number of caveats.

To recap, ZA/UM is no longer the same studio that crafted Disco Elysium. A number of the game's key creatives parted from the company years back following the title's release, in what was soon outed to be an especially messy situation.

Some of said creatives claimed that they had been forced to leave, and have since gone on to form their own teams elsewhere.

As a result, the reception to Zero Parades has, up until this point, not been very kind. Many Disco Elysium fans have accused ZA/UM of piggybacking on that game's success, and framing Zero Parades as some kind of sequel — when in fact, most of the talent that spearheaded the 2019 release have long since left the company.

Indeed, the trailer that we've placed at the top of this article boldly opens on a press quote that states: "Fans of Disco Elysium, go wishlist this game right now!". YouTube's Like functionality has also been disabled.

Again, the whole saga's been a mess, and so it'll very interesting to see how Zero Parades gets on when it launches for PC in just a couple of months or so.
