I use to care about longevity of a console. However getting the Pro has radically changed me. I really dig better graphics and performance over vanilla PS4. Well worth the upgrade cost path. So here's my head in the cloud dream... PS5 is bigger and better BUT also plays my current library of PS4 games. If PS5 came out in 12months time I'd get one. Just sell my current console and upgrade up baby!
I was getting jealous whilst watching your Skyrim VR preview! That's a first for me! When you mentioned incredible scale, I thought that's it I gonna get one as soon as there's a UK bundle similar to US. I've also watched a gamespot demo of VR and the guy was having the time of his life! He was screaming like a girl he was having so much fun! Just hope the bundle is under £400 pls pls. It's amazing to finally see VR games which have massive replayability so we can choose to pour hundreds of hours into! The other games also looked fun and interesting. Ah 2018 feels like an expensive gaming year lol yes!
I do have a friend who's interested in the X cos he bought planet earth 2 to be wowed by the 4k visuals. Disappointed that my ps4 pro couldn't play 4k bluray. But that's the crazy thing. He wants it as a 4k player first with options to play games later. However he has a mighty PC rig and does 100% gaming on that. I think it's great that we have competition as it's now up to Sony to give gamers the next best console. I'm smelling proper hi-fidelity 4k VR, VR gen 2 (wireless, lighter, even more stylish), full 4k on PS5! Ah fantasies!
I'm really loving the build up to Skyrim VR. I've already played it on PC and PS4. And be happy to play it again in VR. This is the one game I'm hoping will break the 'VR experiences' and turn VR into huge adventures. For me gaming virtual worlds translates as huge open world not theme park worlds. As for the motion sickness thingy... When Quake first came out I remember my mates and family getting sick not being use to 3D movement. Now 3D gaming is the norm. I believe VR is at the pinnacle of a revolution just like what Doom and Quake did for gaming. Come on VR!
Hmm... Maybe some off the ex-telltale staff can start up their own studio. Two telltale type companies would give competition and thus raise the innovation and creative stakes. Anyhow good luck to the ex-employees on finding new jobs.
Somehow I can't help but feel a bit worried about Microsoft trying to get onto the PlayStation platform acting like it's the 'good guy' trying to bring crossplay to everyone. Why? Primarily it comes down to a company's motives... Yes Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo are all in it for the money but it's the games which the studios have produced in the past 15 odd years that sway me and help me choose. Would Microsoft had produced a locoroco? A little big planet game? How about Bloodborne or Horizon Zero Dawn? Journey or God of War? Sony have shown time and time again that they let the creative juices flow with freedom and support with in-house and third party friends/partners. Microsoft mainly stick to 'safe' genres as long as they make money. Sony takes gambles and are happy to 'experiment' and take gamble with new tech like PSVR. If Microsoft brings games to PlayStation then cool. But would they also bring along the propaganda thing of 'we're the good guys now championing gamers platforming' and thereby divide the PlayStation community? A divided community means less bucks to Sony and therefore less budgets to carry on bringing us the amazing exclusive experiences we've enjoyed on playstation since PS1 days? Halo, Gears on PlayStation would be cool. But a world without playstation and it's class 1st studios not so cool.
I got suckered happily into buying a 49" LG 4k HDR tv for only £410 at Easter. Then sold my ps4 slim and upgraded to a PS4 pro. Games and Netflix look friggin awesome in 4k - the colours, the cinema rich feeling. All the games look stunning and run superbly. If you plan to play ps4 games for next 2 years and enjoy a visual and performance ride highly recommend PS4 pro. But if u can't fit a big screen in your room or a bit skint ps4 slim is still not bad.... Haha nope PS4 pro all the way! When I bung in a slightly better graphics card in my PC I love how games feel better too!
Timing seemed right with Halloween on our doorstep. However personally if it's as gruesome as Resident evil or until dawn etc I won't be able to cope! And will sadly skip it.
I binged season 1 over two days ended up with panda eyes! One of the freshesh (can't spell this word!) TV shows ever. Kids in it are funny and super geeky in a good way!
Lol I remember some bigwigs in industry predicting death of consoles like Pachter. Just shows great products are loved by great people like gamers! And gamers always have the final voice in voting with our pockets. Oh and great developers will always produce great games. 100million PS4's sold is just around the corner! Maybe 2018/19. http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2014-09-08-the-end-of-the-console-era-as-we-know-it
Charge me something so I can change my PSN name please dammit! Anyway, how about each month Sony releases 10 songs from games which we get to choose three for free, download and play on our ps4/ps3/vita or smart device (via PlayStation app) as MP3? I love listening to game music whilst I work, commute or chilling at home. Eg. Music taken from Final fantasy 7, God of war, Call of duty, secret of mana, patapon, Uncharted, etc. 8-bit and all the way up to modern scores. It's still game related.
Ouch someone definitely isn't the norm for splashing out $15,000 on game monetisation. Most I've spent is probably £10 and that's cos it's on a freemium game that I pumped hours into and DECIDED the publishers SHOULD be paid for their hard work. BTW.. Can Disney not outsource the single player campaign to Sony, and maybe Sony can build the game? That would be every gamers dream right! Star Wars written by Amy on PS4! I smell 10million copies! Cash cow!
If a game is excellent will it matter if it's single player or multiplayer? Surely gamers will buy it anyway. And where EA won't go, won't it mean one less competitor in the single campaign market? Saying it's the end of single player games is like the doomsayers saying consoles are dead about a decade ago! Where greatness is produced... Great gamers follow!
Not to worry some people say. It's a choice so don't buy it some people say. Well try and put yourself into families who have kids and are struggling to pay the bills, yet at the same time want their kids to you know keep up with the joneses. "Mum dad Bob has a glitzy lasergun can I have one pls! Only a buck or pound here and there." Do you think we'd have obesity epidemic if junk food wasn't so freely available?
Waiting for GOTY for me as with any game nowadays. Indulged £100 before but such a fool I was. Patience and waiting for it to go on sale feels so much better nowadays especially when £70 saved can be spent on doing much more other things. I want to play the game! But not being a mug anymore.
Inbetween rebuilding my mountain bike and photographing autumn scenes. I'll be running around like a headless chicken in Dragon's Dogma and tackling the mob in Yakuza Kiwami.
Haha could all this 'enhanced' experience also be gearing up for PS4 pro and Xbox X versions of getting out a vanilla and pro version of Cyberpunk on day one ☺
You know there are tons of games released every year. I still have a backlog that extends back to Xbox, PS3, 3DS/DS, PC, vita and over 20 uncomplete games on PS4. I see loot box as a positive thing cause it means this mechanic is a turn off! Yep just like DLC, season passes, pay-to-win. I haven't bought a street fighter this gen (although purchased every gen since SNES days cos of incompleteness and dlc carrot infront of donkey mechanic), not bought an EA game since Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 (horrible loot mechanic to win parts of a costume!). Destiny 2, Shadows of Mordor are crossed of my want list. And if battlefront 2 has loot boxes and is unfair (ie. Pay to get high level gear through tier 1 loot chests) or just too grindy yep this isn't added to my wishlist too. Just vote with your wallets fellow gamers.
@RedMageLanakyn not stalking buddy, just curious why you are hating a game so much without it even being released yet. You scared me! And being an open forum, isn't all of our comments history visible. Hint.. It's open forum. Feel free to check mine too as I'm not sensitive to what I've said before! We all say things in the past, some honest, some stupid, some with regret (I've said silly things too! And hopefully apologised to whomever for saying them). But isn't it worth checking out a comment or review and test to see if they're biased or not? Your comment gave the impression of disliking this new GT without even testing it. Is this true or not? And since you hit below the belt by bringing up my parents. I won't do that to your parents as I love mine probably as much as you love yours. But you're comment is creepily similar to IPhone fanboys who automatically dislike any android phone that comes out even if the Android is better or good. Stay frosty dude. Peace😊
Just started playing and it's a laugh! Playing with mates is hilarious. Currently on PS4 broadcast it's in pole position and double the audience of destiny 2! What's more it's freakin' free and it's addicting!
@get2sammyb I'd ignore redmageforza if I was you! If you look at his comments April 2017 he clearly states he never liked Gran Turismo since GT1 and always preferred Forza or project cars.
