An extended trailer for Fist of the North Star has been released, and we're seriously starting to think that this could be the modern video game adaptation that the legendary series deserves. Developed by the same team behind the Yakuza games -- and starring the same voice cast, we might add -- this PlayStation 4 exclusive looks like the real deal.
We're half hoping that this is the start of a new strategy for SEGA. Fist of the North Star is essentially a Yakuza title in terms of structure, so could we see the developer craft more licensed games in the future? Again, we kind of hope so.
Fist of the North Star hasn't been announced for the West yet, but we're praying that it gets the green light once it's released in Japan next year.

Have to admit, it looks pretty good. I know nothing about the series, but the visuals are really nice and combat looks engaging.
@FullbringIchigo The hope is that with SEGA supposedly being more active in terms of localisation, it'll eventually bring this over. Fingers crossed for sure.
I say with only the tiniest bit of hyperbole that this might be the game I've waited about 20 years to play, since i love Fist of the North Star and the Yakuza engine seems like it would be a perfect fit.
I just hope it get localised.
Would I be asking too much for not only a western localisation but a physical release as well?
@ShogunRok i would hope so but this is sega after all, the people who WOULDN'T bring Yakuza 5 out over here for ages and then when they eventually did it was a Digital only title

On my wishlist!! 😆 I loved the anime. This feels like streets of rage mixed with mad max encased in crazy awesome japanesiness!

Anybody remember God Hand? Even though it wasn't "fist of the north star" it had a similar look and feel. Hope that one gets a ps4 Port.
