Sony opened it's Paris Games Week 2017 press conference with one heck of a big reveal: Ghost of Tsushima. It appears to a samurai-based action title set in Japan's past, and it's being developed by none other than Sucker Punch, the studio behind Sly Cooper and the inFAMOUS games.
We simply can't wait to hear more.

Sucker Punch is back and the game looks great.
Yes. Yes to all of that.
Did not expect that!
Another brand new IP brought to you by the House of PlayStation.
Keep them coming .
Oh my god it looks awesome.
I've been asking for an action/adventure game set in feudal Japan for years. Ubisoft won't do it, and Nintendo won't revive their Murasame franchise, so I'll take this! I hope the gameplay lives up to what we've seen today.
This is why I'm a PlayStation gamer , amazing exclusives .
that game looks great.it looks like tenchu.gameplay will be revealed at psx .word up son
I disliked the fact the naration was in english not in the native language of people. Would have much prefered it to be subtitled along with the actual language. Unless of course the characters turn out to be english speakers. Which I guess they will explain why within the story if that is the case
Wait, so is he a samurai or a ninja? Looks more like a ninja now that I look at it.
The 'highlight' of the show for me. I know it was great to see some more of The Last of Us 2 (more a cut-scene) but the fact this was a big surprise as I bet no-one expected this from Sucker-Punch, is why it was my highlight.
Getting to play as a Samurai in Feudal Japan is right up my street. As some will know, I wanted Sony to do a 'Witcher 3' RPG game with a Samurai as the lead and set in Feudal Japan. Not sure if it will be as 'deep' as the Witcher 3, but its straight on my Wanted list.
I don't know why, but i was expecting a sci-fi game like Blade Runner from Sucker Punch, but Ghost of Tsushima looks great too.
I want to see gameplay, but I am officially interested.
@dryrain This should absolutely be voiced in Japanese. What's the sense in setting a game in an exotic setting like feudal Japan and then having everyone speak English?
I was surprised that SP is making this game and not Japan Studio, nothing wrong but very BOLD of them trying to do something new and risky
really impressive use of lighting in those scenes. hard to tell what kind of game it's going to be from the trailer though.. an AC-style action rpg adventure with samurai in ye olde nippon, a team-ninja style hack'n'slash in an open world, or infamous with swords?
One of my favourite games announced this year. Mom's spaghetti.
Wow just wow first party Devs for Sony are knocking the ball out of the park.
Yet again, a lack of game play. 🙁
Color me interested.
I am definitely interested in seeing more of this.
@EVIL-C PSX is coming soon.
My reaction to the trailer was: This isn't Nioh right? They won't start a show with DLC and it's too soon for a sequel. Oh maybe it's a new Onimusha, yeah I bet it's Onimusha. Ghost of Tsushima? Alright ok, I wonder who's makinNNNN OH MY GOD SUCKER PUNCH?????!!!!!!
What a surprise. All I need now is a localisation of Ryu Ga Gotoku Ishin to hold me over... one may dream 😊
I'm so hyped for this and usually I can keep my hype in check!
I wonder how historically accurate it'll end up being. Probably not very, especially if there end up being ninjas in the game, but oh well.
Okay, that's looking great so far.
@dryrain Everyone spoke English in The Witcher too.
I'd like the option, but it's definitely not a deal breaker. I imagine it's quite difficult to get Japanese voice actors, since the game is made in the US. On top of that, licensing of the Japanese VA is very expensive for worldwide releases, that's why a lot of Japanese games don't include the original Japanese VA in their western release.
@dryrain Then the God of War games should have been voiced in Greek... Or you played Witcher in Polish?
I'm on board. Can't remember the last game by Sucker Punch that I didn't like.
I want to see gameplay before getting excited.
Interesting!! Awaiting some gameplay ^^
Samurai! Looks awesome. Want! Hubububba!
Wow Nioh 2 is looking pretty great!
Anyway, cool, want gameplay now
Finally, we know what Sucker Punch has been up to, and it looks awesome! Probably the best reveal of the show, I can't wait to see more of this.
Yaaaassss! I surrender!!!!
Going to miss infamous but this looked great too!
Paris game week's sucker punch by Sucker Punch!!! Brilliant !!!
Hands down, the best revealed of the show, imho.
!!! GLORIOUS !!!
Sucker punch makes open world games that don't feel stuffed with filler so I'm eager to see more.
I hope the gameplay is like tenchu (stealth), nioh (combat), and the difficulty is like onimusha (normal difficulty, not souls like).
@sonicmeerkat Yeah, infamous second son open world is "manageable", not too big but not too small either. And the paper trail endgame is nice
I like the subtle touch of them adding Sucker Punch’s logo towards the end and people losing their minds. Very nicely done Sony!
The thing I loved about Infamous SS is that it's a joy to play. The mechanics are fun, so I'm guessing SP will get that right with this one too...
I cringe at the mere mention of open-world these days, but this looks cool, and totally surprising given what Sucker Punch has worked on previously.
Love the setting and the trailer was nice and atmospheric. I haven't played any games made by Sucker Punch, but they seem to be held in high regard, so it's promising.
