As a gamer I don't know how difficult it is to get a game and all its bits just right. So... My trust is in the experts. Hope Insomniac just produce the best spiderman that they believe in. Too many cooks spoil the broth... Also I'm beginning to realise some 'gamers' might hate a franchise and just say things to mess things up or they're bias to a certain console. The average gamer ie. 90% just wants a good time. I'd love a resistance openworld - cross between fallout, walking 'chimera' and horizon set in where it all began Mother Russia! Please bring back resistance Sony
Looking at the trend so far, so possibly 90million by March 2019?! Giddiness! So many blockbuster games, triple AAA exclusives, new tech, huge gamecasting community, freemium games like Fortnite and plenty of innovative indie games. For the gamers my Vita is getting plenty of game time too and new games keep coming out on that!
PS VR has blown me away like the first time I owned a SNES, gameboy, PS1, mac and warcraft, iPhone 3s, driving my first car! It's an amazing experience that just can't be witnessed in current flat TV form. Immersion... Scale... Surprise... Scale scale scale. Moss, skyrim, battlezone, PSVR worlds, watching VR on YouTube, heck even watching Netflix or normal games on a massive imax, lying down on sofa watching anime... All these things just blew me away! I'm predicting PS5 + VR with sharp, gorgeous graphics and will do for tech what iPhone 3s has done for mass adoption of smartphones! PSVR is just the beginning keep it up Sony!
Can I have ability to tick favourites in my library pls! Then on the filter dropdown we can view favourites as well as A-Z, newest, etc. I hate having to scroll through 200 odd games on my library. Also for PS4 vita in downloads can I just filter Vita games without the PS3/PS4 names? Also... This is crazy out there thinking but can our library list of games be linked to an online PS4 purchased rating system? With all the games I've purchased and freebies from PSN, I just don't know what to play sometimes! So eg. If hypothetically metal gear solid got 4.89 stars and is rated higher than Just Cause 3 (4.52 stars), for ease I'd try to play the top games first. Extra filter within library section = highest rated. Can Sony give me a job in gaming industry please lol! I should charge for these improvements and ideas!
What an incredible list from 2017! Sorry are there still cynical gamers out there who say no decent games on PS4!? I spent more cash on games 2017 than any other year! Including PSVR! Whichever game wins game of the year, us playstation gamers are the biggest winners Happy gaming for 2018!
My favourite game this year. Story telling, graphics and a stunningly crafted world to wander in. It's one of the few games that made me sweat with excitement as I ran in fear, screamed like a child as I took down a massive bot and felt sad as twists and turns in plot line. Probably my fave game on PS4.
Merry Christmas to all at Pushsquare! Thanks for all the latest news, fair and honest reviews and a great community board. Have a fab time and plenty of sweet rest. God bless ya!
Merry Christmas everybody! I started the Witcher around 4 weeks ago and think I'm only scratching the surface. So that'll be my Xmas binge, along with titanfall 2 on PS4 pro. And thanks to those damn Xmas sales (!!) on PSN bought persona 4 dancing all night long and odin sphere for ps vita. Happy days.
It's pretty funky in VR to see how Huge trico actually is! To the gamers who are getting sick using VR, try to move your head slower... I'm on my 5th day using it and I've gotten over the motion sickness! And like driving a car or the first time a casual picks up a game controller the more you use it the more naturally it becomes. I use to run up and down dungeons in skyrim like a kid on steroids... It was like 30mins on a theme park ride. My brain was fizzled! So I took it slow on 2nd day and by 5th my brain was accustomed and now I can run around like an adult on steroids with no side effects
BC is a time waster imo, unless properly remastered. If I spent time replaying 2 classics from PS3/PS2 era that's at least average 60-80 hours (or 4-6 weeks cos I work!) not playing a game of currently PS4 gen! Which makes my backlog grow even longer and missing out on PSVR. However Shadow of Colossus or crash bandicoot remakes I do dig as its like going from a simple big mac transforming to a gourmet burger. Just bought PSVR and already got 7 brand new games on it... Defo no time for old classics except maybe the odd one or two.
Maybe these events are a great way to demo VR in all its immersion goodness? You know like get it out there to the public whereas sometimes in retails shops they don't have the VR kiosks available or switched on or demo the most basic of experiences. Hate my CEX cos all they demo is fifa 16 on PS4 for example!
This is frikkin wow moment! Bring on the VR lovin! We're getting closer to an idea of being in a virtual stadium watching pro VR players racing in a Tron competitive environment!
Twiddling my thumbs until next reveal... Hope it's not an indie artsy type game. Don't fancy coming home from a boring day at work and then use my brain to get lost in some slow abstract game. Fun! Fun! Ftw!
Wow crazy numbers! I predicted 70million by March 2018... So guess it might be closer to 75million after Xmas season. Guess the community and households are spreading the love by word of mouth and Sony's game-focusing advertising. Looks like PSVR is also boosting the desirability for gamers as well! Win win for gamers and gaming industry! Hopefully thousands of new jobs will be available to VR gaming as well! When will we be able to get our own custom limited VR sets.. Eg. Star Wars VR, soccer team VR, Nike VR, even military decor headsets!
Played the switch when mates brought it over but at the end of the day it just felt like deja vu from snes/n64/3ds days except nicer gfx. Personally PSVR has blown me away and the experience gaming super exciting! Those prices look tasty!
I'm being extremely fussy lately whilst going through my backlog. If I lose interest around 2-8 hours then they get sold on gumtree, ebay or CEX. Bye bye Shadows of Velentia, Dead or Alive 5 and Final Fantasy type-0. Finally started the Witcher 3 this week and I'm mega impressed! This will probs take me through Xmas and into 2018! But if PSVR V2 arrives on UK shores by Xmas and the price is right I'm ready to jump on Battlezone, Doom VFR and Skyrim VR.
It'd be cool to see sequels in each of their worlds. Eg. New storys/chapters from FF3 to FF9, tactics etc. But with modern gfx. But it'd also be nice if the games ran smoothly especially in the case of final fantasy 15! New news for Final fantasy 16?
This is nuts! Eve Valkyrie and Farpoint is sold out across all Argos stores in Cardiff! Wonder if that's the same across UK? I was hoping to buy both at these bargain prices. This could be a sign that PSVR is selling like hotcakes.
I got to experience PSVR first time last week and I was blown away! Already ordered a couple games on sale. Just waiting for PSVR v2 to launch on UK shores then I'll be jacked in and total immersion
Early adoption is growing and from majority of people who've experienced it have been really impressed. As a gamer for 30 odd years the buzz was exactly the feeling as the first time I experienced Street fighter on SNES, final fantasy 7 on PS1, doom on PC or Tetris on gameboy!
Triple AAAs like Skyrim, Rigs, Batman, Resident Evil 7, Gran Turismo, Dirt, Star Trek, Eve Valkyria, Rez etc. Available in its first year on PSVR futures looking bright imo.
Now if Sony partnered with the Star Wars franchise that would be a win win! Great story telling crafted by passionate, talented and creative Sony game studios! Those games would stand the test of time like the movies I reckon.
@Nickolaidas you sound like a cool parent and lucky with a son who listens. But what about the not thousands but millions of kids who don't listen to their parents, and even tougher pressure on a single parent. Do you believe majority of families in America are debt free at the moment? And living without financial worry? There's that sick phrase called 'keeping up with the joneses' and parents do buckle to keep kids happy. You know most parents love their kids and spending a little here and there to keep the peace. Games are meant to be fun aren't they? Doesn't fun = mentally happy healthy kids and adults? Instead here we are in 2017 worried about financial addiction. Sure taken the fun out of gaming in my opinion.
I use to buy trading cards to collect things and trade. Simple. Plus some had bubblegum in them. And I bought them when I got pocket money and me and mates would awe at each others collection. Loot boxes are different... Have you tried playing a play-to-win multiplayer match without spending anything or grinding on loot boxes? It's ruddy frustrating! I have self control and no need to buy mts. But... And here's the big but. Young kids or those who are susceptible to gambling tactics are more likely to splurge out on a game they want to win or to even stay in the race. Hence I believe this loot box trick psychologically is PREYING on the weak. So as a society do we not protect our weaker gamer members anymore? And how much do you need to spend to randomly increase your performance? £10 or £500? I think it is a gamble (chance) using your hard earned cash in the hope (addiction kicks in) to earn a great win (just like casino gambling). Don't win this time? Just a few more coins and hope for that epic loot.
You know what? I bought a pair of trainers for £25 this year. And guess what trainers also costed £25 back in 2000. Yep those same trainers do the same amount of miles. But why oh why haven't ALL trainers risen to £60? Cos these companies can STILL MAKE A PROFIT. Now I'm sure that if companies weren't able to make ends meet yes do increase prices and then game consumers will just have to buy less games each year. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-electronic-arts-results/ea-profit-blows-past-estimates-as-game-downloads-jump-idUSKBN1852F5 EA made $56 million profit in May 2017!!
And games have doubled revenue over films! http://m.nasdaq.com/article/investing-in-video-games-this-industry-pulls-in-more-revenue-than-movies-music-cm634585 Yet in my area film tickets have dropped from £8 down to £4. Why? Cos movies were getting greedy and kept raising prices. Again can't help but stress vote with your wallets. Buying a game or any service is a two way handshake. You advertise, if I like it I pay... And in return I expect fair service. Fair means don't try and diddle me for more cash when you are already making 100s of millions in profit.
Trailer's looking neat. Just hope Sega don't try another experiment with this one. Why do companies feel the need to keep experiment? Football or rugby have have small increments each year and the fans keep coming back. Fallout, Grand Theft Auto, even COD/Fifa do it right. If Sega or any company is about to give a different type of game to us use a new IP please... And stop killing the original brand, style and gameplay. Sorry for moan guys.
Will other developers please take notice now? It's time the gaming community which spends billions buying and supporting this hobby stop being treated like muppets. Yep mts work on mobile but those games are free to start of with. If you want gamers to participate in your 'club' prepare to be fair. Good response from EA in all fairness but now it's a matter of waiting to see if their word stays true. Microtransaction-gate looming.
3 hours playing on a normal tv screen I'm flagging lol. But wow the visuals look sweet like the remaster version. Just seen sweet deals in UK for £250 for headset, camera and Skyrim... Ah! I'm still saving up dammit!
Awesome review. Loving the improvements on the VR 2nd updated model. I'm saving £50 a month to get meself PSVR. 5 months to go! Can't wait to get in there. Wish I never sold my PS move and camera now. Hopefully a full PSVR bundle will launch in UK like the lucky Americans with the Skyrim bundle. Haha hope we can have funky designed artwork boxes like with the PS4 bundles.
Yep Horizon ZD be me favourite this year. Definitely best gfx for me as well. Story also was decent from start to finish. It was the only one I completed! Other games were a bit too grindy, too long, too short and couldn't keep me interested beyond 30 hours. Can it also win New IP? Huge risk for Guerilla to step away from their norm (killzone FPS) and create an entirely new world. Bravo haha bravo!
So we do have power by how we spend with our wallets? Great day. Imagine if macdonalds started to charge for each gherkin slice in their burgers. Or you can own a movie once but you can only unlock chapters after you've paid extra microtransactons or you've paid full fare on public transport BUT you still need to pay transaction for every little stop... Traffic jams extra charge!
Don't know but it seems like game companies are ripping us off by charging a full RRP cost but it's not to fully own the game but more like an initial entry fee. Then if you want more (eg. The fuller experience) then expect to pay the continual VIP fees hence microtransucktions.
@MrGawain it's an expensive outlay but one which hasn't prevented one million PlayStation gamers investing in it, and it seems to be growing. I'll be joining that list as soon as I can find a similar UK deal to the amazing US PSVR skyrim deal. Majority I've spoken to who own PC VR or PSVR love it... And they're readily happy to keep their kit as they know it's revolutionary for gaming and it's only Generation 1. But I understand how people don't call it a success cos it hasn't shifted gazillion units. However, history proves that a new medium to expensive tech grows slowly and early adopters jump in first. If the early adopters say a product is pants it usually fails... However if you scour the net PSVR is mainly positive. Haha cya with your own customised PSVR by Turtle Beach, Beats, Blizzard, Amazon, Razor, etc in around 2 years time

Re: PS4 Pro Owners Are More Likely to Own PlayStation VR
