The free PlayStation Plus games always release on the first Tuesday in every month, so in this instance you’re looking at Tuesday, 3rd October.
What are October 2017’s free PlayStation Plus games?
We don’t know yet, obviously – that’s why this article exists. We do know that PS+ has been having a really good period, though, with some very agreeable selections over the past six or so months. Given that Hallowe’en is right around the corner, we reckon some old-fashioned survival horror would hit the spot; The Evil Within would be a great shout with its sequel around the corner, but would Bethesda do that? New releases on 3rd October include the PS4 port of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, an underrated RPG from Capcom – but again, we wouldn’t expect the publisher to dish copies out this early. Your guess is as good as ours.

Evil within would be nice and I would like to see Borderlands 2 too.
I don't want any, whatever they are. All the games that I like, I already own.
The Evil Within would be a very good choice, think that's a pretty solid prediction! The Witness is something I'd love to see on PS Plus as well.
I would love to see What Remains of Edith Finch or Night in the Woods as a Plus game for October, but I’m not sure that’s realistic.
What about The Order: 1886? I’d happily take that.
@Hengist Then isn't it a good chance to try something new? I never thought I'd like Rocket League but now it's probably my most-played PS4 game. Never would have touched it if it wasn't for PS Plus.
A Resident Evil game would be good cause you know Halloween next month.

Hmm I really want Night in the Woods or something relatively short. I have been a bit rubbish these last few months and haven't played a plus game since the start of the summer.
I would like 2 PS NOW Games each month to. Say you get 2 to play for the month and then they are gone and then you get another 2 the next month etc etc. That would make PS PLUS more er buyer'ble for me

@JoeBlogs @kyleforrester87 Honestly I’ve heard such varying opinions on it I feel like it’s one of those games you just need to play and make your own mind up about it.
From what I’ve seen, I think I’d probably enjoy it more than some, and even if I didn’t, it’d be included with Plus, I could hardly complain! I would 100% download and play The Order if it comes to Plus.
I'm somewhere in the middle of The Order 1886 so I'd say that has a good shot at PS+. It's already been on sale for $5 so it can't really get much lower than that.
Has Knack ever made it? I bought that for $5 and since Knack 2 is out, or coming out, seems like a good time for that.
Has Gravity Rush R been on PS+ yet? I still need to play the 2nd one, planned on skipping the first but I'd play it on PS+.
Not too fussed to be fair, as enough to play at moment, but something a little different would be nice.. say a couple of PS Now rentals or something..
Their recent months have been good comparatively, but Sony do need to keep the momentum going, whether more solid titles or something different being done.
I'm not actually bothered hopefully a good AAA game that I've liked but missed due to budget/time reasons. Either way I won't be playing them as I start my army training next month so I'll just be sticking to the stuff I've bought until then, would be nice to get something good for my backlog though!

Would still like to see a revamp of Plus with some options, so that if you don't want the games on offer, you can instead opt for a couple of movie rentals instead... something like that.
It'd be nice if it was something like The Order since I've never played that and I'll probably never buy it. But I've got so many games in my backlog that I don't suppose it really matters what it is.

Don't really care to be honest. I have a big enough back catalogue and I haven't played a PS Plus game in almost a year. I keep them in my library for a dry season but the past 2 years have had quality releases so there is no need.
I'd love The Evil Within to be offered. I don't know if it has been offered before, but Layers of Fear would be a good choice for a Halloween option.

@Quintumply No one can deny the incredible that the "franchise" had. I would be so down for a sequel. The game felt like the first Assassin's Creed did; I had no fun playing it at all, but the setting was so amazing. It's not a bad game by any stretch, but it's not great either.
I would have recommended you the game two years a go. The experience and cinematics alone are certainly worth a try, even if you'll end up being disappointed. But in 2017... there's just too many really good games more deserving of your attention.

Hmmm, with Wolfenstein 2 coming to Switch, maybe I should dare and wish for The Old Blood or The New Order? Both cost around 1500 RUB now, and we have seen games from that price range land on PS Plus before. Then again, with the sequel already arriving on PS4 as well sooner yet, Bethesda may not be in the mood for giveaways they can sell for binge play. And while we're at it, I don't think Bethesda has EVER given anything out to PS Plus to begin with. XD
Otherwise, the usual stuff I voice whims for. My fan side has been treated to some well-deserved monkey paws this month, but is preferring a game on Vita (or on Switch potentially, too - it IS a Ubisoft title to boot) a reason to complain about being given an awesome JRPG like Child of Light? Is Hatoful Boyfriend less quirky (read: WJT) and amusing for the fact that I haven't tried it yet due to not usually "trying" visual novels until I get to play them? No, seriously, I haven't even launched Code:Realize to this day - my VN type backlog is still too full of Ace Attorney.
I found inFamous Second Son quite fun indeed, I found We Are Doomed okayish but not really my cup of tea... and "that's all she wrote" not counting the umpteenth PS3 racer to tease me as it gathers dust in my library. So yeah, September giveaway may qualify as a bit of a "mixed bag" for my entitled ego, and that provides extra curiosity for the Wednesday reveal.

A retail game for PS3 would be nice, heck I'd even take a sports game like Madden or NBA. No offense, but Handball 16 just didn't cut it, and Truck Racer was mediocre at best. I'd also like more PSTV compatible Vita games! ^_^
