Bit late to the party here, but just had to comment... BEST ARCADE RACER EVER!!! NEEDS TO MAKE A COMEBACK.

Seriously, this was and still is the best looking racer to date. I would love to see a revival.

How does this play now? I seem to remember trying this on xbox day one and the performance was terrible for weeks, to a point I gave up trying.

I think AI can definitely speed up the process initially from the start, then the programmers and designers add the final spit and polish.

In your opinion of course... this type of looter, extraction shooter is not my kind of multiplayer experience.

Not every month is going to appeal, this one especially.

Fortnite is just not my style and neither is the simpsons. I couldn't think of 2 more annoying things getting merged together... and now it's been done. Ergh!

It will take a lot to pull me away from Battlefield at the minute, none of these do it.

@GoatFace04 Yeah, if you already own battlefield, the file size is a lot smaller. I got home last night and it was already done with the season 1 update.

@MrStark Yeah I don't know, the multiplayer is.... It's just the same formula and gameplay in a different skin.

This pretty much looks like diablo and vampire survivors spent the evening together, spawned a child and named it Halls of Torment. Looking forward to giving this a go.

@MrStark COD is like the FIFA. If only the gamers would wake up to see they are wasting money on the same game every year.

Different strokes for different folks, I get it... but I can't honesly understand why gamers prefer COD online gameplay over BF online gameplay. The experience in BF is superior in every way.

I got Killzone shadow fall at launch with my PS4 and really enjoyed it... I thought it was quite cinematic and looked amazing at the time.

Zero interest anyway.

I've never really spent a lot of time with world building, management games, but this does sound appealing. Who doesn't love Jurassic Park.

@Toot1st Yeah, I get your point with the close combat deathmatch games, everyone just running around like headless chickens for the kills which I avoid, but that's where the similarities would end for me. COD feels more arcadey, where-as BF is like the real simulator of shooters 🤣

I got to involved in the hype for this one, then it just ended up a big disappointment for me.

@Frmknst That's the scary thing about this generation. Mobiles and always online is the only way they communicate. Once that goes down, they just don't know how to exist 🤣

Some maps are deliberately small for the game mode, the bigger maps in my opinion have a nice enough size to keep you feeling your still in the battle, but at the same time, give you enough space to hang back.
This is the best multiplayer experience you can have right now, and it plays nothing like COD.

@Intr1n5ic Ball pit is just pure addiction. i literally played for nearly 4 hours yesterday. the base buildings just keep unlocking and i love the farming part too. Haven't played this absolum though.

@DennisReynolds I have crossplay off and have never seen bots, but a lot more xbox users than ps users.

Brilliant game this. Was playing last night and couldn't stop. Well... I did need a break from battlefield.

Hah! Oh man! When this was an XBOX exclusive, PS users were like "MEH!".... Now they're like "YEAH!"

@BaldB3lper78 I agree. Not talking about power and graphics etc. If you think back to the PS1 through to PS3, this is where we saw the biggest leaps with each generation. PS1 was pretty much just a games console. PS2 then introduced a DVD drive so we could play movies and you could also connect a network adapter for online play; PS3 then introduced Blu-Ray and WiFi and the PS Network was introduced also so we could download games.

I was waiting for the dragon to change and be like.... "Surprise, it's me... Megatron!"

@CheapMerc I haven't come across bots yet, but when I turned crossplay off, most of the lobby was XBOX users.

In a few years time when BF6 has a larger map roster and the Portal has proved itself, this score is irrelevant.
I really don't think that these should be considered and reflected in the final score.

At launch, it felt like the internet couldn't wait to jump on the BF hate wagon about launch issues, when in reality, the launch in my opinion was impeccable. Sure, there was wait times on launch day, but sheesh! On steam alone, there was over 600k players waiting to jump on the servers.

@Northern_munkey Yes, absolute solid game. I put a lot of hours in this weekend and never had a single issue. So much fun, I will be spending a lot of time with this. I don't usually buy on day one, especially with the prices these days, but I knew I would love this and get my monies worth out of it... money well spent.

COD and BF are two completely different multiplayer experiences that will appeal to different players. COD feels more like an arcade shooter these days, what with all the silly skins, weird weapons, just running round for the kills etc. etc... Where-as in BF, you can't simply just run round doing that. Well, you can, they have smaller maps and modes for that... but in the much larger conquest maps, you have to play tactical also, you won't last long just running head first into battle looking for someone to shoot.

The BF experience and gameplay is far superior in my opinion.

Chances are so many are allowed at once whilst they slowly increase the numbers so not to overload the servers at once.

@16BitHero That's the difference with COD and Battlefield. COD is mindless running around like a headless chicken, trying to get kills, where-as BF can feel tactical. The atmosphere is second to none too.

Let's be honest. Who is also going to spend £60/£90 on this just for the 6 hour campaign? Definitely not me, I'm all for the multiplayer on this, can't wait.

I follow the indie game scene to be honest, they tend to have a lot more character about them than the sloppy AAA trash that gets released these days.

@pyrrhic_victory Funnily enough, I was watching a video last night and seem to remember that the campaign should roughly take around 7-8 hours to complete.

Battlefield, in my opinion, beats COD hands down. The online experience in BF is by far superior to COD. Online COD just doesn't know what it want's to be anymore. All them stupid skins... it's like a Fortnite wannabe.

@nomither6 Probably won't be a COD killer, but it's definitely a better gaming experience. COD fan boys are to blinded to see past it.
