@get2sammyb Just to let you know, this is being ported by Implicit Conversions. The game page lists Limited Run as dev but they’re only publishing.

@PuppetMaster Yeah, I appreciate there’s a lot of background work. Thanks for the vid, was a big deal to the classics community when it came out, and it’s a good one for an insight to what happens behind the scenes. It’s worth noting Implicit Conversions aren’t the only ones working on these. I feel Sony needs to put more resources into the programme considering they keep increasing the sub price. That would go a long way in increasing the output.

@Decoy_Snake This is it. It’s been six months since any first party classics have released. If Sony can’t get their own stuff out there then what hope do we have?

@get2sammyb Exactly the point I was eluding to on the other post. When these classics are coming at such a glacial pace, it feels like such a disappointment to be getting repeats of the same games. Happened a few times now. Grandia, Worms Armageddon, Deus Ex - all classics with remastered versions also available/coming, plus there’s a few old classics which have been re-released, like Siren.

As I said in my other comment, if we were getting these at a good pace then why not? It’s good to have options, but with it being one a month recently it is painful.

@PuppetMaster OK cool, was just a genuine question if the arcade and PS1 versions (which have both been out for decades) are much different.

Sony haven’t even put most of their own first-party stuff up yet so no, I’m not talking about stuff like “Barbie Explorer” when I say it’s taking the spot of something else. I think that goes without saying. 🤦‍♂️

@PuppetMaster Will there be much difference though between the Arcade Archives version of Ridge Racer already on PS4/5 and this PS1 classic version? I mean if we were getting a few classics a month then yeah why not, but we’ve been getting only one for a while now so it’s taking the spot of something else.

Decent for Extra, except for the pointless inclusion of Lego Horizon in the same month as Essential (shows Sony are struggling to get more games on there).

Premium is abysmal, however, for a Christmas drop. Last year we had three classics for the year’s end.

@Bizzy Exactly. Makes 0% sense to simultaneously be pushing Netflix Games that nobody cares about and then turn around and say that WB Games aren’t of any value when it could be their first meaningful inroad into the gaming sector.

If they actually thought about it for even a second, it could be the perfect opportunity for them to turn their IPs (like Stranger Things) into companion games which will boost the IP, if done correctly. Considering WB handled Hogwarts Legacy it could be the perfect match.

Tomb Raider: Anniversary is a great choice but one game a month is a terrible choice, i.e. it’s impossible to truthful answer that poll question. 🤷‍♂️

@PocketHotDogs Feel exactly the same. Have absolutely no interest in gaming on mobile, and that’s surely the feeling for many (if not most) Ratchet fans. Why not release this on PSN as well, a download only title would do no harm.

Saddest thing for me is this would have totally been on Vita (or equivalent) if PS handhelds hadn’t died. Hopefully it at least gets a digital-only port for PS5 at some point.

@Toot1st @Gremio108 It’s only orange because it’s about Horizon. Some IP tags on PushSquare are linked to colours. There’s also red for GoW and grey-blue for Uncharted.

Bend must have as many cancelled or rejected projects now as they do releases. Crazy mismanagement.

@Nakatomi_Uk It’s better on PS3 as well so it’s a bit backwards even within their own ecosystem. However, PS3 can’t be emulated yet.

Should have had Tomb Raider as well then Premium would have something for everyone but as I hate fighters it’s terrible for me this month.

@darkswabber it’s called “The Simpsons Game” and while it’s unrelated to the film, it wasn’t a ‘coincidence’. 😂 It was a marketing decision to cash in on the hype of the film to release a game around the same time.

@Vivisapprentice Indeed. EA ran them into the ground and shut them down. I can’t see how that was the better option over Sony. More money I guess. I suppose it’s easy to say it was a mistake in hindsight though.

@Oram77 People were offended when the original came out as well, and Manhunt, and GTA 3. It’s kind of Rockstar’s USP to shock. Well it was anyway, you could argue they take less risks now.

Nah he’s bullsh*ting. They had at least 5 creative-lead studios back then, each working on their own output. Thing is they shut down R* Vancouver who were the devs of Bully, perhaps “limiting their bandwidth” in doing so. They could have made Bully 2 after they finished up on Max Payne 3.

@LiamCroft Both codes failed to redeem for me on the SHIFT website. Can’t work out why as it says they’re valid.

@Quintumply It’s not the first non-Clap Hanz entry as they only started developing the series from the second one. The original creators were Camelot.

What’s funny is when Xbox Game Studios publish on the PS Store they are listed as “Microsoft Corporation” (I figured Sony didn’t want the Xbox name shown) and now that Sony are publishing on Xbox they’ve gone under the name “PlayStation Publishing” to rub it in. 😅

Sony are no angels but they are the cheapest of the three consoles for games no? Both Nintendo and MS are raising prices while Sony has yet to (I’m sure they will “have to” in time). Out of the three, I’d wager Nintendo to be the downright worst at using their dominance to inflate digital prices. Switch (and now SW2) games are insanely high for years after release, and rarely drop in price.

@Odium No 100% confirmation but it’s most likely it will. Only a few weren’t and some of those were later updated and now can be. Trophies have been confirmed for both Myst and Riven though!

@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare You’re right on the money. We usually get two or three classics per month with Premium, for example, yet this month we only got one. But wait! We have two “bonus” classics coming so that makes the usual three. What a coincidence.

@12AngryCats We’ve had the whole trilogy included over the years. Vice City was added to PS Now in February 2022, and GTA3 was added in December 2021, so since GTA3 is coming back VC will likely follow at some point.

@Vivisapprentice Some others have gotten as well such as Oddworld and Alone in the Dark.

For everyone saying Resistance and InFamous remasters are incoming: they could be but them leaving Plus has nothing to do with it. TLoU PS4 is still on there even though the PS5 remake came out AND was also added to Plus. There’s also MediEvil PS1 original, PSP remake, and PS4 remake all on there together.

Only one new game on Premium this month is simply abysmal. Do better Sony or perhaps stop raising the price!

War of the Monsters is already on Premium so it’s essentially just one new addition this month. Very weak 💀

A positive however is it will at least have a platinum this time around.

While I agree PS5 has been a slow gen when it comes to first party, going after Insomniac is just silly when they’ve been the most prolific of all Sony’s studios.
