This isn’t a “policy” thing, but rather for a technical reason (or oversight probably). PS5 apps can’t have more than one trophy list tied to them but one product purchase can. In order to have multiple lists, each game in a collection needs to have a separate launcher. GTA Trilogy and MGS Master Collection both have multiple trophy lists and platinums because they utilise multiple launchers.

It’s a stupid change and Sony’s mess to start with, granted, but Aspyr chose to use one launcher instead of three so aren’t blameless here.

Not a fan myself. New hand looks like it’s a 5-second live trace in Illustrator tbh. The 2013 ‘fractured’ one is the best for me.

@Angelus3K Yep, turns out it was just a typo on the original blog post. Crazy Sony hasn’t fixed the PS2 emulator yet. Surely that’s the first thing you’d do before doing other consoles…

@nessisonett Indeed. The Atari brand is a bit of a “kiss of death”. We all know about the woes of the original incarnation, but also look what happened to the once mighty Infogrames after rebranding to Atari.

@MikeOrator It’s the colour for God of War. If you click on the “God of War” tag you’ll see the banner is still red, and if you click on the “Uncharted” tag it’ll be grey-blue. 😉

Wow! I had (and still have) this game as a kid! I remember there was talk of a sequel at one point (PS2 days) but it never happened. Can’t believe it’s coming back!

@Jaz007 Just no. The game has England and Scotland separately which is right for Elizabeth I and Robert the Bruce, respectively, but Victoria was both/neither. She was UK (or Great Britain would be acceptable I guess but still technically wrong).

@Olmaz Probably just the devs poor knowledge of history. Add to that: “Rulers of England - Victoria” err no, she was Queen of the UK not England. I know they even label her as Queen of England in-game. England ≠ UK 🙄

@Dragoon1994 No, Crystal Dynamics were sold to Embracer last year so aren’t part of Square Enix anymore. Which is exactly why I said I’m surprised to see the SE logo.

@Texan_Survivor Indeed, also whatever happened to Amy Hennig after U3 seemed pretty fishy to me. She was working on the original direction of U4, then TLoU hit the big time, she left and was replaced by Neil, and all her work on it was scrapped. It seems he just has a “habit” of taking over and it leaves me weary.

Yes! That’s more like it… Scrappers and now Eden 2 coming to PS. I’m glad PixelJunk is coming home after a good few years of releasing on other platforms. Now just Raiders and we’ll have them all.

Hopefully we get Eden 2 (only on Switch) and Raiders (was only on Stadia) as well, especially Eden 2! The original had such a following on PS3 back in the day and was the first game to release with trophies day one.

@Porco Not strictly true as the first game they made in 2006 was an original IP called Blast Factor. Though, granted, it was a very minor one, so I guess if Bluepoint are working on a new “AAA” IP now, then Nixxes could too at some point, especially if PlayStation’s PC strategy fizzles out.

@Porco I don’t think that would happen as Nixxes has always been a port/support studio since its founding in 1999. They’ve never created their own IP.

This looks like the New Super Mario Bros. of the Sonic world! Classic gameplay but with fresh graphics and 4-player co-op.

@Snake_V5 Sony owns the Blade Dancer IP and have published this re-release. So still only first party classics get trophies at the moment.

@jamison1993 - Agreed, and while it’s true that the PS2 emulator is broken on PS5, it’s no excuse. Sony should have fixed it by now at the very least. Preferably, they’d have also brought it up to date with the extra features of the PS/PSP emulators and added new games, but one step at a time I suppose. 😅

That clip is from the original remaster on PS4 apparently, not the remake on PC. You can even see the console in the video.

Aw yeah, glad PixelJunk is coming back home! It was a PlayStation staple of the early PSN days. Hope we get Eden 2 as well at some point.

I’m glad Sony are adding trophies to their games, they just need to get third-parties on board. That’s the key!

I’m more sad that Crash is now on its third release after the trilogy while poor Spyro has had nothing!

@Balosi That’s only how to “redeem” it as it were. I mean how Sony give people the tasks in the first place. You will only get the Wonderbook one if you actually owned a Wonderbook.

I don’t get how Sony track some of these “PlayStation & You” challenges. Like how do they know if you had a Wonderbook or a PS Eye etc? Then of course there was the PS3 one which they didn’t even give to people who had a PS3. 🙄

Sony haven’t released a single new PS2 game to PS+ Premium yet, and have opted for PSP versions instead a couple of times now. Why? Probably because they haven’t bothered to update the PS2 emulator since it launched on PS4 and it is not only lacking in the added features (save states, rewind etc.) but for the most part it’s completely broken on PS5! Many of the PS2 games on Premium have game breaking bugs when played on PS5. Yet another reason Premium is bollocks. 😅

I think Clap Hanz moved on from PS when Japan Studio was closed tbh. JS often acted as a collaboration partner to second and third parties in Asia, just as XDev does for European studios. So Clap Hanz probably lost their contacts within Sony.

@nessisonett Yeah, same. I’ve been twice: not long after opening and then again when the video game exhibition was running. It detailed the making of The Last of Us which was cool!
